Hey it was November 24th 1978
Just to set the record straight, it was Nov. 24, 1978 and it is listed and by the way life is a trip but I wasn't tripping at that concert, I would never do that knowing I was having a baby soon. Peace

Golden Ticket - Capital Theater 1978 had to be!
That concert isn't listed here on this site because I quess it was a private concert ( by invitation only ), I remember it was a FREE ticket too, not only one ticket but The Dead Head Club gave me 2 of them for FREE. Don't have my old gold ticket though, so I don't have the date either. It had to be in 1978 because I was about 6, 7, or 8 months pregant with my son then and he was born on June 7th, 1979. So I'm thinking Oct. -Nov. - Dec. 1978. I was wearing a coat,It was cold out side. The coat just about fit around my belly. And God did I feel Mickeys drums, the vibration went right threw me, I really felt pregant then. I fell asleep towards the end of the concert. The Capital Theater was a small place. I remember getting in while the band was playing and Jerry just played his guitar and staired at my big belly as I walked to my seat. Man what a trip.

Missed the Dead here, but saw lots of other shows including JGB and Bobby and the Midnights. I had a friend who hooked me up to work at the snack bar one night during a JGB show. They gave me a t shirt that said "STAFF" on it which allowed me to walk right up front without security hassles when the stand was not busy. They were always tight with security not letting you clog up the aisles. Ran into Neto from the Uncle Floyd Show one night. Always parked behind Scarpa Funeral Home for pre-show partying. Great memories! Great place to see shows. They tore it down in the late 80's to make a small strip mall. What a shame.

Many lost brain cells. Also ran into Netto in the lobby. Pink Pussycat sex shoppe around the corner. How many freaks can you pack into the neighborhood bar across the street? Saw Be Bob Deluxe, Pretenders, Kinks, JGB, BWB, Midnights and Zappa. 1st Dead show in 77 back when they would do 2 shows a night. WOW!

Rush, Cheap Trick, way too many Dr. John opens for Jerry shows. Booing John Scher. Styx (opened for Be Bop Deluxe)was so bad that I had to go to the lobby and wait it out. Leon Rusell, Willie Nelson. Them was days.

I attended one of the greatest Dead shows here, a private, for Deadheads only show, but, I can't remember the date! Sometime between 1978-1981. Talk about lost weekend!!!!

I looked for that show on the All Shows list but could not find it. I'm thinking maybe 80 as I remember my friends and I were in high school and we tried unsuccessfuly to get tickets.Fatman, thanks for opening up the rusty, cobweb covered door in my memory bank. Pink Pussycat was always entertaining and that bar was insane! I also remember the local gang bangers cruising by in their 64's when the shows let out and whistling at all the pretty girls. Man, I miss that place.

Man, I felt like Charlie Bucket when my SASE was returned and inside was......A Golden Ticket! That was for the 3/31/80 show, unfortunately the only Dead show I saw at this venerable venue. The night before John Belushi cartwheeled into U.S. Blues and the night after, the April Fool's Promised Land...my night, eh...had its moments, but kinda blah. If memory serves me correctly, the "Deadheads Only" show was the lone 1978 Capitol show. I remember recording the radio broadcast over 102.7 WNEW (forgive me for this) on eight track! I was heavily into Southern Rock in my teens, and the Capitol Theatre was like a Redneck Mecca! Multiple Allman Bros, Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Little Feat,.38 Special, Atlanta Rhythm Section, etc. shows found me there in front of those speaker stacks on either side of the stage. After one Molly Hatchet show, I couldn't hear very well, and I have had difficulties since (worsened by a Yasgur's Farm show at Joe Pop's on LBI). JGB, Jorma/Tuna, Dr. John, John Hammond et al, were easier on the ears, often in more ways than one. Searchin For The Sound

I am looking to find someone that has a copy of the private "DeadHeads Only" show from the Capital Theater Passaic New Jersey 1978. It was one night only show that was broadcasted over 102.7 WNEW. I attended this show, but I cannot find it listed on any list. A fellow Deadhead brweldon81 remembered it,"Thank you" by the way!!! So, I know that the concert wasn't a flashback. I would really appreciate some help locating a copy of the show. I still have my Gold ticket stub, but, it only has Nov' then it is ripped, so I don't even know the exact date. I can tell you, it was a Trip! The show itself was just as good, if not better then my favorite outdoor live Dead show at Englishtown. Now, that was a crazy show! Anyway, HELP!! is definitely needed here. Thanks!!! And, if my ex-wife sees this, don't call me!!!!!

I just posted, but I typed in the wrong date! This private deadhead Only show was from Nov 1980, and like I stated, was broadcasted live over WNEW 102.7. Thanks again!

Such good shows at the capitol, I wonder why they are looked over and not released. The 4-27-77 show made me a deadhead sure. I didn't even go but taped it off the radio. Yes indeed the bar across the street was crazy...also the lobby during breaks...the mens room was packed. My fav show there was the "guitar greats"...had gilmore, tony iommi, link ray...too many more. Also saw willie and leon. Jerry with Dr John/denko/hunter...What a blast...

Yup, I saw about anybody who was anybody there. From The Dead, Jerry & Merle(THE LATE SHOW). Came out and the sun was coming up ! To Van Morrison, Cactus, John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, Canned Heat, Hot Tuna acoustic and electric about 10 times...! It was a real sin bin, smelled like piss, but who could tell over the sweet smell of Cannabis Sativa! CrAzY DaZe there. But "THE BAND" G.D. of course liked it and it was small and somewhat cozy. Paid $7.50 for a show, and most nights, they had a decent warm up band, that ALWAYS got booed off the stage when the DEAD were in town. I remember feeling embarrassed for them. People like Steve Miller, Black Oak Arkansas, Maria Muldower...
