    Carolina to Memphis
I also drove from Raleigh to Memphis for this show (as I see another above did the same). Went through the night for the April 1st show. There were 5 of us and when we got to the door, I was the only one with a ticket for the 2nd night! Went to the door three times and the ticket finally got ripped and we ran in rejoicing. But, while jumping up and down I dropped a 5th of whisky from my shorts which smashed to the ground directly in front of a cop. I considered running but couldn't move and locked eyes with the cop who said "just clean it up". Great time thereafter. Was meant to be. Oh, I also snapped a picture of Vince Welnick in a local restaurant. Will add later.

    Beale Street
On Beale Street after the show, music was being pumped out into the street. 'The Electric Slide' came blasting through the speakers and a bunch of Heads just spontateously started to do the electric slide. Skirts swirled and at the end of each 'electric slide' every one kicked up a leg and said 'woooo'. What a scene!Does anyone have pictures or video of this?

Buddy of mine and I drove to Memphis from Raleigh, NC -ticketless. By the time we got into town, they were sending everyone across the river into Arkansas for camping. Checked into the 'Happy Times' campground (on the river). Maybe a half-dozen cars. Spent the first night in the campground. The next morning, I remember being able to barely open my car door. Absolutely jammed with heads!Couldn't get in the next night of the show either so stayed right there in the campground. Some folks in a rented moving van filled with equiptment jammed. Wonderful. One of the greatest camping experiences of my life. Well worth the drive, and we never even got into the show!

It will take me a while to go through all of my ticket stubs and enter comments on the 75 to 80 something shows I saw, but this was my 2nd to last official "Grateful Dead" show. Alone, as so many times before, I drove to the venue, Memphis, with tickets to future shows for trade. In the parking lot scene, I got my Memphis tix for both nights right away, early in the day on the April Fools day, the night of the 1st Pyramid show. The show was great, and they were laid back, which was perfectly alright with me. Heard their first Take Me To The River and I can remember the moments as the crowd began to simultaneously realize what was being played. We all went wild and the boys laid it down beautifully. There were a couple of times when Jerry looked right at me...he knew me from previous shows...when I would be in the very front rows at some shows, I would stand in front of Jerry and stare right at his fingers...he laughed at me on a few occasions when he would catch me catching his guitar moves. On many nights, after the show I would run out to my Toyota 4x4 and get me guitar out so I could play the way Jerry had been doing it. Me and thousands of other heads. LOL After the show, I hit the strip bars with a bunch of tour-head friends, and then went back to my KOA camping site (across from Elvis Presley's Mansion). Always holding the kindness, I put on some tunes and rocked myself to sleep so I could wake up and do another show the next day. The Pyramid was a great venue.

charlie HillebrandThis was one hell of a show. I lived in Memphis at the time and we were so glad the Dead came home to where it all began. SOTM that night was breathtaking and the river blew our minds. Jerry smiled an awful lot that night. I beleive these 2 shows were there best in a long time and the last. No money for tickets to the Dead shows in Greensboro but a friend is coming through tonight I did not get into Further or Phish and have missed the Grateful Dead for a long time but this new tour has me feeling like a kid again. Keep on Truckin on.

I was standing in the right place at the right time for a free ticket for this stellar show. The risers our seats were on were AMAZING during drumz/space. If I close my eyes I can still feel the vibrations! Was truly Standing On The Moon during this one...staring at one of the true loves of my life from the sidelines. It's a sweet dream every time I listen to this one again.

Was telling someone last night that I saw the Dead at the Pyramid. They replied "You went to Egypt- that is awesome"! I replied- how old do I look?!? It is hard to be much younger than I am have attended shows without having parents on tour or a chaperone. In fact it is getting difficult to claim progressively lower ages on my online dating profiles and reconcile this with having seen the Grateful Dead! Just kidding...I explain I was a very precocious young man.

I was living in Memphis and at work when I heard on the radio what I had been waiting to hear ever since experiencing the dead's live music and reading about their incredible fans. I thought I was dreaming, but it was true! Not one, but two nights of my now favorite band! April Fools Day and the same month of my brother's birthday. Everything about this screamed FATE!!!! and it turned out to be just that. The first night me and brother Buck obtained doses before we could park the car. This was our first concert together, our first time at the Pyramid together, our first time to trip together, and our first time to experiece the peaceful and loving fans that are widely known as deadheads. After walking through the parking lot scene, we made our way past the statue of Rameses the Great up the ramp to the entrance of the Pyramid. In the time between getting in and getting to our seats, the (trip) was starting to kick in just as we walked through a big circle of dancing girls wearing many different color dresses. We made it to the platform and stayed right there jammin' and taking in this whole experience. After the show, the rest of the night was just as eventful. My brother and I will never forget this night of firsts. The music never stopped, and it never will. Thank you Grateful Dead.

Fun seeing the sky reflecting from the pyramid and the wheel was a highlight. Acoustics in the pyramid were weird, sound quality really varied on where you were. Not an explosive show. One for the record book though cause it was april fools day at the pyramid.
