Rock Legends to Play Obama Fundraiser

The Pennsylvania Campaign for Change has just announced a Monday, October 13 concert fundraiser to benefit Obama for America featuring many Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and other American music icons. Additionally, the show will be a very large voter outreach opportunity for the Pennsylvania Obama campaign, which has already built the largest volunteer-based campaign in Pennsylvania’s history. The campaign has more than 70 field offices and thousands of volunteers preparing for an unprecedented Get Out the Vote operation. There are now more than 1 million more Democrats in the state than Republicans, an increase of 500,000 since 2004.
Tickets will be available at 12:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, September 19, and are $50 for the general public and $30 for University Park students with a Pennsylvania State University ID. More ticket information is available online at:

Tapers ???
I just want to know if Tapers will be allowed to record the show? I haven't seen anything mentioned on any of the related band members sites(or on Dead.net). I don't want to bring my gear with me if I can't get it in the door.

Great Book Cosmicbadger!
Acid dreams is a great book about the scene. If you like that one you must read: The Brotherhood of Eternal Love: From Flower Power to Hippie Mafia: The Story of the LSD Counterculture by Stewart Tendler and David May Ever want to hear the story of orange sunshine and tales from the great chemists? This is the book. From Oswely and Tim Scully to Leary and Ronald Stark. It is all in this one and a great read too.

Reps and Dems. 2 sides of the same bad penny!!
I've been following elections since Raygun. Not just US elections either, being a bit of a political junkie. This is the first time I've seen the Dems resorting to such Rep. political attacks. Downright lying will not win the election. Not for the Dems. It's worked for the Reps. before but likely Dem voters react differently to such tactics and I believe it will backfire. There's a difference in standing up for yourself and lying. Whatever your party affiliation you should check the facts and where they emanate from. A lot of good folks have swallowed a lot of baloney. When u r tempted to throw a rude comment family, just remember, u might be wrong. Is it worth it? No one knows the future. We can only make educated guesses. Here's mine! :) No matter who wins it's going to be better than it has been! I'm not going to offer my political scientists analytical breakdown as to why. There are many factors. Both of these guys are very different from what we have had and both have the potential to do good. Obama isn't the second coming, and McCain isn't McSame. It should certainly be better but don't expect big changes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Are you kind?"

Lots will open on SUNDAY! This should mean there will be a serious Shakedown street! On the ticket front: "Some patrons had attempted to purchase more than the limit of two tickets. If you had created a second account and purchased another set of tickets, you should have been notified by Ticketmaster that your order was cancelled and money was credited back to your charge card. In the event that you received tickets or TicketFast emails on a cancelled order, NOTE THAT THE BARCODE HAS BEEN INVALIDATED AND WILL NOT ALLOW ENTRY INTO THE BUILDING. Patrons with cancelled tickets will be denied entry and information will be provided for the PA State Attorney General’s Office in the event they need to file a complaint regarding any tickets purchased on the secondary market (StubHub, eBay, TicketNetwork, etc)."
