Okay' I didn't actually go
but i watched it and taped it on pay per view. I felt like I was there! Without love in a dream it will never come true. .
My only New Year's show
Deadhead since '69, and this was the only NY show I ever went to, it was a blast, even after my date's brother spilled a soda all over me. Last time I saw Bill Graham.
things getting 'un-manageable'!!!!
tj crowley
i was approaching the doors of the GPO (manhatten 8th ave.) to send out my $$ for this show..at the postal worker's window about to get the enveloped stamped for the date...i turned around and opted to secure "MORE" cocaine..things got worse for there exceptionaly.
the bottom (at least this one) came quickly
The Boys
This is the best New Year's show ever. (imho) Of course I only saw 10 or 11. The third set was sick. Everyone trading instuments. Brent was so juiced, it still gives me a kick thinking about Jerry laughing at him. The exactly perfect brothers were. Second 81 or 82 can't remember, Satisfaction at midnight. The show that the pigs clubbed people trying to get back into the Kaiser. Because it was billed as breakfast at dawn. It wasn't uncle Bo Bo's fault. Also you forgot to mention Kesey leading the crowd in the old "lets go down to the river" with a twist. In cosmic value this show rivals Wavey's 50 bithday party after the show. If you were there you know what I'm talkin.Peace, God bless

Simply put "one of the best
Simply put "one of the best nights of my life" thanks Kirsten Wilson. Even Spiderman was there.
Best part of the show: Watching people trip out when giant balloon grid went over their heads
omg mason williams +
Mason is astonishing...his video "250+ years of art in 2.5 minutes" is one of the best of all time...we used to use it in light shows at Zap Concerts in glendale, california

My first Miracle!!
Flew out from NJ with only tix for first three nights. Begged all week for a NY ticket. Dropped my first "hit" of X at 3pm, by 4 I did not care less if I got in. Then some dude poked me and asked "Do you have my ticket?" I laughed and said no, does that actually get you a ticket? He said "FAITH WILL GET YOU A TICKET!!" I walked 50 yards poked a guy who looked like Santa/Jerry and asked him, "DO you have my ticket?" He said how many do you need, I said 2, he replied no sorry I do not. As he walked away, I pulled on the back of his shirt and asked again,"Do YOU have my ticket?" He quietly said yes I have 2 for you please do not re-sell them. We paid face value at 6pm NYE!!
Only matters to me
Only matters to me but this is my 100th time seeing them in California. 1st being Ventura 82. Guess am an odd ball to count something as trivial as this but hey why not?
What a Grate Year
The New Year's Eve celebration at the end of a grate year for me and my shows, my most shows in one year, oh what fun I had this year!

Wanted to contact the username above about some tapes he wants. How do I go about doing this? I am a LONG TIME DeadHead From when the Dead sent out their invitations to keep in touch inside the Skull and Roses album I think it was. Toked with Jerry ( honestly , just he and I and another guy from Berkeley in Boston) but I know very little about using computers . Been collecting tapes since 72, play music ( backed up the David Nelson Band one night in Richmond) so you see, I am covered on the important stuff. Anyhow , If you know how I would go about contacting someone , in particular the user name above , let me know. Just wanted to turn him onto a couple tapes he's looking for. Thanks anyone and everyone , whichever comes first. Peace to you all , like it or not.

2nd New Years Show
This show was broadcasted live on the USA cable network. My friend Bob & I worked security for this show. I got my 15 seconds of fame when the film crew wanted to get a shot of my New Years Staff tee shirt. I got to meet Bill Graham briefly after the show.
#IWasThere!
My second New Year's Eve run with the Grateful Dead. The Neville Brothers were even better than in 1986, I thought.
