    I'll buy it - Paris 74' fantastic
I agree, stone jack baller! I would love to have the opportunity to get my ears around this Paris 74' show in its entirety. I was thinking the same as you, how some song selections were a nice change in arrangement from the usual (Bertha featured here, for example). Hope it's offered as a full show on cd in the near future...or some day :) Nice pick.

    I agree- I'll buy it (74' Paris)
Much agreed, stone jack baller! I love this set featured here from Paris 74'. I was thinking the same thoughts: What unique arrangements of particular favorites (Bertha, for example) & how I'd jump on an order to get my ears on a cd collection of this show!Nice pick.

    Paris 74
Great choice. Time to consider this 3 set show for release. Plus the "Paris 74 sound" is quite clear and unique.

Welcome back, and goodbye to 2013, and hello to 2014. To ring in the New Year, we have music from the east coast, the west coast, and Europe.

Our first stop this week is on 9/21/74 in Paris, the final night of the Europe '74 tour. From this show we have the entire first set, featuring Bertha ; Mexicali Blues ; Sugaree ; The Promised Land ; Peggy-O ; Me And My Uncle ; Deal ; The Race Is On ; Loose Lucy ; El Paso ; Eyes Of The World > China Doll.

Next is music from nine years later on 8/31/83 in Eugene, featuring some first set music: Alabama Getaway>Greatest Story Ever Told, Dupree's Diamond Blues, Me and My Uncle>Mexicali Blues, West LA Fadeaway, Hell In A Bucket. By this time, West LA Fadeaway had developed a nice groove, and this versions is one of the meatiest you'll hear.

Our last selection this week is the start of the second set from 9/15/87 at Madison Square Garden, China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider, Estimated Prophet>Eyes Of The World. This show would mark the Dead's return to MSG after four years away.

Stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.
