thanks for the tip, DB in Denmark. I got to Denmark when I was a kid (73). I remember Copenhagen (and the mermaid statue), but that's about it.

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we're going to hear some tunes from 1973, 1979 and 1987.

Our first selection this week is from Denver on 11/20/73, from the first of two nights in the Mile High City during the excellent Fall Tour of 1973, when most shows were excellent. From this great show, we have To Lay Me Down, The Race Is On, They Love Each Other ; Me And Bobby McGee ; Tennessee Jed ; Big River ; Row Jimmy ; Weather Report Suite Prelude ; Weather Report Suite Part 1 ; Let It Grow ; Casey Jones.

Next up is music from Indianapolis on 12/7/79, where we have the end of the second set, featuring Space> Wharf Rat> Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode ,U.S. Blues. It was quite common in 1979 for the Dead to come out of the Space with a ballad-y type song rather than a rocker.

Lastly this week is music from 9/9/87 in Providence, RI, the last-ever Grateful Dead show in Providence, where we have the start of the second set, featuring China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider>Playing In The Band>China Doll>Drums.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to come back next week.

Late 79' has some fantastic stuff. If it is a consolation to you Hampton May 79' 2 LP is being released in a few days. 73' is great too. To Lay Me Down was great on Winterland 73' box set My favorite year for vocals maybe 72'.
