Bizarre Trip
Went to the show with 5 other guys in a huge Cadillac. Inside, the NHPD were on a rampage beating people. I watched from our upper section side seats as 2 of our crew got chased, beaten and ejected. My best friend, a 6'4" viking kinda dude, was below me on the stairs. Another cop started hitting him with his nightstick from behind. Then he started spraying my dude with mace. My friend spun around, hit the cop with one blow and knocked him over the rail, down into the crowd, who immediately began to return the "friendly treatment" to the cop. Now my friend, blinded by the mace, was screaming for me; I was already on my way down the stairs. I grabbed him and started leading him back up to our section up in the noise-bleeds. A bunch of fellow travelers, who had seen the whole debacle unfold, quickly began giving us hats and bandanas and different shirts to help disguise us. When the new 'squad' came searching for us, they looked right past us...the ruse had worked! We did what we could to enjoy the rest of the show. I think we were well into Stagger Lee by that point. At the end of the show, my guy still could not see. When we got back to our car on one of the top floors of the garage, our ejected friends were hanging out near our car and were all trashed. I had to drive us and was tripping balls by that point. I remember side-swiping the outside rail down the circular exit ramp several times and then trying to figure out which one of the 3-5 lane stripes on I-95 was the actual one I should be navigating by, as they were now dancing in front of me in an aggressively serpentine manner. I had to have my friend hold his hand over one of my eyes to barely discern the actual lane markers from the unreal ones. Somehow, we got home safe. I would love it if anyone had a tape of the show [DICK? DAVE? BEULLER???] I can only vividly remember Eyes / Drums / NFA, which were [in my condition] totally mind-blowing. First totally bizarre GD trip. What a night.
