This is my first post/request. Please consider releasing this show. This was one of the first 10 tapes I owned and I still love this show. This show would be perfect as there is only one audience copy on Archive.org the last time I looked. The Playin>Supplication > Playin rocks the house. Thanks for the chance to add my suggestion on a new release.

Listening to Omaha 10/21/1973 for the first time: another jewel in the haystack of excellent shows. Although it's a soundboard, the audience is quite apparent. Killer Here Comes Sunshine followed by a comical start to Beat It on Down the Line. Thanks to gdradio.net for the listening opportunity.

This tour had a very high dose rate. At least 75% of this crowd was tripping on one substance or another. I hope a good matrix of this show exists in the vault. The 2nd set is an all-out rocker: Scarlet>Fire>Estimated>Eyes>Drumz>Space>Uncle John's>Truckin'>Alabama>JBG Enc. US Blues The deadheads folded up all the chairs on the floor and turned this one in to a dance fest. Very Groovy show, good memory for a lot of people.

First show of 83 and the first Help>Slipknot>Franklin's since 1977. A mint show from beginning with Cold Rain & Snow to the end to the ending Sugar Magnolia. The Space>Throwing Stones was awesome as was the Black Peter. I know a lot of people say that 83 was a throw-away year except for a very few shows (Broome Cty. Arena, Patrick Gym, Saratoga - to name a few) but this show was exceptional. It was the first show after an eleven week break for the Dead. I'm thinking maybe Jerry rehabbed during this period because the New year's run was so weak that year, Jerry nodding during all three sets at New years. This was like a flash of lightning saying "We're backkk Baby"! Thing I'll listen to it again right now!

Listening to this show now and would love to see it get the official treatment. This show features the most gorgeous acoustic Dead I've ever heard. I am also smitten with the American Beauty centered set list! By far, that is the band's best album and this year in their history is quite important as a result. Of course, this is my opinion but I feel that it is a legit one :-) Happy listening, folks!

I have a listenable AUD of this show, and I have to say that this is an exceptional performance from that period. It's a relatively unknown show that ought to be widely heard in pristine CD quality. I would definitely buy this if were released on CD.

The penultimate show from the comeback year of 1976, it's a high energy show with a great setlist and historic to boot. This show features the first He's Gone since the retirement and the last He's Gone since they took the tune off the shelf for good starting with Dick's Picks 29. This show would make a great bookend to demonstrate the evolution of the band from the '76 sound into the monster machine they became in May 1977. Check out the Other One, too! Hello! Just grooving on the 9/10/91 with Branford Marsalis and thinking that we should have a release, or set, with Guest Artists. Those horn sections shows in '73, any of the Branford material, Etta James, Allman Brothers..... Would be great to see some of that make a release, either in complete shows or a compilation. We're good on the Dylan & the Dead stuff (not a raging highlight anyway), but would love to hear some other good guests!! (the original post to start this thread, 8/2/2007, someone else had the same idea!! Must be worth something....) Thank you, Reggie

And I'll be danged if I'm going to read them. I am lazy. Anyway, these are shows I'm looking for - if they're out there now, not as torrents, I'd love to know. But still, official releases would be awesome: 1/7/1966 1/13/1966 12/1/1966 10/30/1968 9/7/1969 2/7/1970 3/8/1970 4/18/1970 4/19/1970 11/21/1970 9/26/1972 9/17/1987 4/11/1972 4/16/1972 4/21/1972 5/3/1972 5/7/1972 5/13/1972 5/16/1972 5/18/1972 5/23/1972 5/26/1972 9/30/1981 Actually, I know a bunch of those '72s are the Europe ones, so never mind 'bout them...

An amazing show worthy of full release. We need more early-mid eighties releases. Second set is stunning, including best intro to Morning Dew I ever heard. Remember this was during Reagan years and threat of nuclear war was very real. "The Day After" TV special about nuclear attack on US had aired previous winter, Reagan was pushing "Star Wars" missile defense and MX missiles moving around the country on trains. The mournful, chilling intro to Dew captured the moment in time, the Dew itself was spot on, and then to segue into Throwing Stones was icing on the cake. First ever Why Don't We Do It In The Road is also worthy of preservation. Please consider for Dave's Picks!

I would like to see something from summer tour 1990. My first choice if it were a single show would be 7-21-1990 at the horrid Tinley Park. Most folks that I know feel that it was the best of the 3 night run. It is often overlooked due to Monday's show being his last but that first night just melted together and it was the only time I ever felt like that without any psychedelic enhancement. The only low spot was a below average Just A Little Light. Next choice would be a small box set of all three nights. I am trying to go off memory and it has been some time since I really delved into summer 1990 but the China-Rider from Deer Creek is superb when Jerry is high in the mix. I'll post other requests separate.

I loved the whole dicks picks and would love the Daves Picks but there really needs to be a larger number released. Instead of increasing the total by 1000 each year, is this to correspond to the year, more should be released now while we are still alive and then decrease a little each year as we unfortunately die off. I am not meaning to sound complaining but while I am at it it would be nice if the subscriptions either went on sale earlier or at a different time of year. Holidays the money has been tight and this year I missed my subscription by less than 5 bucks when it was on discount and it went offsale 1 payperiod too early unfortunately. If there were a longer time frame perhaps it would be easier to gauge the number of copies wanted. If they were all re released I would buy each and every one but only 1 or 2 at a pop. I somehow could manage 1 release every 7 to 10 days but getting even 125 dollars together at once during the winter is tough. One only need look at ebay or Amazon. Com to see how some folks are scalping these releases. It shouldn't be some elite club allowed to own these discs and I do prefer a nice hard copy to any download orburnt disc. Sorry, just my 2 cents. The Pure Jerrys can really be crazy priced, I saw the one with Robert Hunter being sold for around $300, a crime.

I am not picking a particular show this comment but how about a really hot show from a year not previously covered or barely covered. Also, not much a fan of compilation CDs but what about a release of songs not previously released or best versions of songs played only a few times even if none are extraordinary or if some royalties need to be paid to guest performers.

11-14-73 ... I know it's out there in good sound quality but I still think it's such a high quality show it should join the Winterland run, UCLA and Denver, or 10-25-73 as others mentioned ... also anything from Spring 73 (March or 4-2-73), such a great tour and I believe DP 28 is all we have from it. Fall 72? Anything from 9-28-72 through November

If you go back and look at the total amount of material released for each of their years/eras when they had a distinct sound, there is a real lack of early material. 1969 has gotten some attention, but I will let you in on a secret: You are not going to saturate the market for 1969 shows -- There just aren't enough shows from that magic time. 1970 is woefully underrepresented. What do we have -- Digital Downloads from 1/18/70 and 2/4/70, Dave's Picks 6, Dick's Picks 4, 8, the Family Dog from 4/18, the Road Trips of 5/15/70. For some years that might be a lot, but for 1970, it isn't nearly enough. I know there are missing tapes from 1970, but surely, surely, surely their are more good quality tapes in the vault from 1970. There is some stuff from late 1970 that is just outstanding-- the September Fillmore shows for example. But, not a single offical release from the second half of 1970 (I surely hope the missing tapes get returned too-- what a horrible thing for someone to have taken them). Also, I just listened to one of the shows from the Shrine in November 1967. The quality was plenty good enough for an official release and the playing was too cool -- they were totally starting to stretch out and jam, doing transitions and teases right and left. I'd sure like to hear more stuff from late 1967 too. All too little 67 available. And one other thing, even if copies of a show are circulating that doesn't mean you shouldn't release it. I will always buy all the official releases, regardless of whether or not I already have a copy of the show. I bought all the Dick's Picks, 14 of 17 Road Trips, all the Dave's Picks, all the Europe 72 shows, Winterland 73 and 77 box sets, May 77 box set (I really, really, really like those box sets), all the "From the Vault, plus a chunk of the Download series (and now that I understand computers a little better I will get them all-- I was clueless when those were originally released). Anyway, please do whole shows, glitches, cuts, and all. I always want everything from a show, even if it is flawed. You can't imagine how many hours I spent listening to very marginal tapes. You won't offend me by selling stuff that is flawed: What I hate is not getting everything available. Let's do it one show at a time and make it all available. Good example 2/11/70. I've had a copy of that tape since 1984. It cuts off right at the end of lovelight. So what? If that is what it is, that is what it is. But that certainly deserves to be released. There could be people out there that haven't heard it. And I know that despite having listened to it on a good quality tape and a good quality digital version hundreds of times, I would still buy an official release-- I want the best quality possible, which I assume the official release would have.

Good call, indeed, jch (and WTJ)! Over the last few years, on at least 2 occasions, I've cleared my ipod and started from scratch - almost; two shows have endured: 2/26 and 5/14/78. That isn't to say that they are my favorites, but they certainly make my top X list each and every time, and for some reason I find each indispensable! Plus, there are magnificent (downloadable) SBDs for both shows (hint: mediafire). WTJ, in a concurrent window I've just located a zipped SBD for 10/29, as well as 10/30...which, along with the soon to be rereleased Englishtown (epic), DiP 10 (legendary), the 5 hidden trax from 10/11/77 on DiP 29 (discs 2 & 5), DiP 34, and RT 1.2, make for a respectable Fall/Winter '77 catalogue, thanks!/kate

Anyone know why the 2/20/95 at the Delta Center in SLC is available streaming only? There really isn't an AUD of this floating around? Seems like there might be more to the story... (It's the only show from 95 I don't have yet, so even if it stinks on ice I'd like it!)

A simple permutation will get you another show I'd love to see (and think will eventually be) released. Suspiciously, neither of these shows were tapped for RT 1.1 or RT 1.2 keeping them whole and thus candidates for full show releases. Of course the caveats, if they are both in the vault and don't have glaring technical issues. I was weaned on 10/27/79, it was one of the first tapes I had. I listened to the first set yesterday and the first half of the second set today.

I just had the opportunity to listen to the entire Feb. 74 Winterland run. As someone mentioned in one of the more frequented threads, the magic tends to happen on Sunday. The mixes are rather spotty on the 2/22 and 2/23 shows. Jerry is way too low in the mix and Keith is out way front, which is not necessarily a terrible thing as Keith is on top of his game here. That said, I would not be terribly disappointed to see simply a solo release of 2/24 (with highlights from 2/22 and 2/23 of course) and not box set treatment. This opinion is subject to change. (weasel words, I know)

I'm not sure if any of the following are unavailable (even as DLs on the Archive) because they've been released already or if plans are being made to release them, officially, or what. (I'm aware I can stream them.) 3/13/71 - Michigan St. Univ. (in the Vault, I think) 3/14/82 - Cal-Davis 5/6/89 - Frost 6/1/91 - LA Coliseum 3/17/94 - Rosemont 6/14/94 - Memorial Stadium in Seattle 2/20/95 - Delta Center, SLC Then there are those for which there is a circulating copy (reportedly), but they're not on Archive in any format: 7/9/70 - Fillmore East (supposed to be on a 7/11/70 AUD master) 6/27/70 - Toronto 5/21/68 - Carousel (aka Tuesday Night Jam) 5/3/68 - Columbia U (supposedly in the film Columbia Revolt) 12/31/66 - Fillmore Aud 10/31/66 - California Hall (Dance of Death Costume Ball - SBD is supposedly not Dead) 9/11/66 - Fillmore Aud (some tapes that are labeled 9/11 are actually 9/16 or 8/7) 3/19/66 - Carthay Studios, LA (confused with 3/12 often in tapes/setlists) 1/7/66 - Matrix (show may not have occurred)

I'll put in a plug for the July '78 shows, as well as the Aug. 12, '79 Red Rocks and Aug 13, '79 at McNichols. Might as well mine the 'early' years at Red Rocks first, before dipping into the 1980s. The July 1981 shows at McNichols might worthy of exploring, too, but I'm "Dead sure" of the '78 and '79 shows. Thanks for listening to our requests.
