Forget it jayhawkfrank - Awest27 is just a bitter old soul. I guess in his mind since he's seen 500+ shows that it equates to having more of an authoritarian view of things. It has to be that the boys are a bunch of greedy leeches and that we're a bunch of losers or else he'd be wrong in his sad view of his current state of being. I've been reading the posts over the last couple of days about the shows and who's worthy and who saw how many shows. It's not about how many you saw, but how much you appreciated the ones you did see. If you don't want to pay 100 bucks for a ticket, then don't buy one and leave the seats for those of us happy to get in the door. Jerry was precious, but the dead would not have been the dead without Jerry, Bobby, Phil, Mickey, and Billy. You can add your choice of Pigpen, Keith and Donna, Vince, Hornsby etc., each was an intregal part in being the band we all know and love. Remember the definition of the Grateful Dead, and why the guys chose it to begin with. It's about Karma, it's about love, and it's about music. Standing in any arena, amphitheatre, or staduim and hearing EVERYONE in the place clap and sing NFA to the band until they come back for encore is something that you can't explain till you've been there. There was a long time when I couldn't listen to the boys because it hurt too much to miss them. After a good friend got me in to see Phil at the Nokia on Halloween, I've had my favorite shows shuffling for months. It's good to be back, and I'll take it any way I can get it. See you in Chicago and MSG.

I loved the way you mocked people that live outside the mainstream. I thought that was what the Dead did. But, it reveals your true colors. My connection was through Jerry.
