Set me free
Set me free Set me freeWhy must it take so much time
Like an endless wave over the ocean
Set me free set me free
Like the wind through the trees,
Like a flower unfolding eternally;
Set me free set me free
It was all building to something
That's what you promised me
Set me free set me free
Why didn't you tell me it was something
That my eyes could never see;
Set me free set me free
Hah, you caught me looking, now
I see you looking back at me
Set me free set me free
Like the light from a diamond
That's just too bright to see
Set me free set me free
You told me that the world that we can see
Is but a symbol of the true reality
Set me free set me free
Get me out of this cage
Immediately
Set me free set me free
That's what a liitle birdie said to me
I said here's the key
Set me free set me free.
Cherry Blossoms
The cherry blossoms ...Decorate the garden floor.
Though, the caretaker ...
Doesn't live here any more.
The song birds sing ...
Till the break of dawn.
Then go off and bring ...
What was once upon.
All come where there welcome.
Now they seldom ever come ...
They seldom ever come ...
Now in despair.
Feel it in the air.
Frozen in ice.
No sacrifice.
No one has spoken.
The peace is broken.
Buried beneath.
Underneath ...
The snow.
This you know.
The cherry blossoms ...
Decorate the garden floor.
Though, the caretaker ...
Doesn't live here any more.
Spring will arrive ...
And come alive.
Nothing changed ...
Is left un-arranged.
Now in despair ...
Feel it in the air.
Lilies below ...
Wait to grow.
No one has spoken.
The peace is broken.
All tears shed.
In fear, dead.
The cherry blossoms...
Decorate the garden floor.
Though, the caretaker ...
Doesn't live here any more.
No, not anymore!

From A to Z
Well, let's see, if he's got anything leftI just had to get that one offa my chest
Seemed like forever, but now that you're here
I want to dive into your ocean
And whisper in your ears
But if you're gonna have any more
Of those brilliant ideas
Like falling in love with me
And leaving me in tears
Please won't you please
Run them by me
I can't wait to see;
I can't wait to see
If he's got anything left
Just had to get that one
Offa my chest
Just like that, with no regrets
All I know about that, is for me,
She's the best, don't want no more
So what, what, what! are you waiting for
To dive into my ocean
And run acroos my shore
But if you're gonna have
Anu more of those brilliant ideas
Like falling in love with me
And leaving me in tears
Please won't you please
Run them by me
I can't wait to see
I can't wait to see.
You can find me there
Walking down such a lonely roadSometimes it seems that you haven't got a friend
Now you know that in the deepest hole
Of the darkest hell, you can find me there
And I'll still know that you love me
And sing silly songs to the wind
Get a foot up
And lose a leg
Time is on the side of death
It takes a miracle to live
So excuse me if I err
On the side of thinking you were there
I was only wondering,
Because I never knew
That walking down such a lonely road
Sometimes it seems that you haven't got a friend
Now you know that in the deepest hole
Of the darkest hell, you can find me there
Singing silly songs to the wind.
Turning the Wheel
Ok, we have arrived at the end of this particular song/poem cycle.
It has been posted here as a thankyou to one, Robert Hunter,
for jumping off a cafeteria table and bear-hugging me,
for no apparent reason. It was ten years ago now, I
was bunking in the local shelter, and trying to find
a better way. Thanks, Robert, you are a good man.
These are the kinds of things that keep us going
when we are down.
So, GOOD NIGHT, AUSTIN TEXAS, where ever you are,

Sitting on the Rock
sitting on the rock, on a windless autumn day;a bubble pops, there's a ripple on the pond, then
a stretch of silence no chipmunk could ignore;
there's no ripple on the pond no more;
the silence stretches out, not a leaf stirs;
the fire red maple in the ponds' reflection;
zigzaggy waterbug skates through the scene,
near a circling dragonfly making her rounds;
a bubble pops, maybe its a frog;
there's a ripple on the pond
on a windless autmun day
sitting on the rock.

Standing here by the ocean
Waves roll in an endless motion
Almost thought I had a notion
Like when dreams come true
Stopped to take a look around
Listening for the sound
Try to find some common ground
I'd give it all to you
But there I go again
Out searchin' for a friend
Waiting for you to plant a seed
I just had to let you know
I won't ever let you go
Love is all we'll ever need
Standing here by the ocean
Far away from the commotion
Looking at an empty cup
That only love can fill
Note to Self
it's all just a lot of blah blah blah,on this side of the mountain;
if you're not walking on the water,
or raising up the dead;
then it's all just a lot of blah blah blah;
heard it all before, got to go now
got no time for silly nonsense,
that's a good theory, now prove it to me,
kind brotherman;
you got no bank account here
we've seen your type face before
gonna get the kind bro chilldown
the innie family freeze out
so cold that it burns;
but if you need to feel
like you belong,
you just walk along the edges
skirt along the fringes;
always outside living,
and sideways glancing,
seems ok for now;
it's so easy to forget
that it's all just a lot of blah blah blah
if you're not walking on the water
or raising up the dead;
it's all just a lot of blah blah blah;
the only family we belong to
is the family we are
all in.

there is only Life
Looking down from aboveWe see the same old pleas
It's the first argument you'll see
when you leave reality;
Mine's the one, yours is done
I am the one, look what yours has done
its been like that since you all
Started to build a tower
and tried to touch the sky
isn't it enough that
There is only Life
perfect and everlasting
you don't have to fight for it
it comes perpetually
free from my fountain
isn't it enough that
I hold all intelligence
Truth and beauty in my hand
isn't it enough that I made you perfect
Perfect harmless and free
There is only Life
I never left anyone out of the Truth
You have full authority to
look out upon the world as I do
There is only Life
You can see what I see
You are all good ideas
forever in perfect harmony
Now look down, see what I mean?
it's the first argument you'll see,
if you're leaving reality.
Why? because it is the limit of the
finite concept, it can come no further.
it is left to argue this most
pointless of points
"Which word is better with which to
refer to Me?"
But let your thought raise up
and see, everyone who
makes it past there,
is here with Me.
To look out from Truth,
and welcome everyone home.
I dont care what name you call
me, your religions are a false
honor at best.
Dont sell yourself short;
I made you, so I made you
perfect, not mortal like
the fatally flawed way you fashioned
yourself.
The way I made you, you understand.
You deadhead people, you've seen
me, you called me
"Infinity" Eternity" Creativity"
All correct, but then mostly you forgot about
what you saw when human life got hard. biggo mistako.
I am MOST here for you when you
have driven yourself into hard times.
You deadheadios should of all,
know where to find Me.
And if you could at least remember,
I'm never on any of your sides,
you have to be on My side.
Infinite Divine Love.
Thats all you should need to know.
isnt that enuogh?
There is only Life.
lost kittens of paradise
the lost kittens of paradiseits so sad when reality
when reality is just a phase
or worse a drug craze
you came so close only
to get spun off into space
leaving no trace
what we build on the flood side
gets washed away every day
when we build on our solid side
it stays it stays
the lost kittens of paradise
walking around with strings
around their necks
being led by a streetkid
who thinks God is trey
open your eyes open your mind
its your last best chance
to hop the soul train
its leaving every day
Baby's in the Back Seat
Baby's in the back seat, takin' off her shoesI'm drinking courage, vodka and juice
She says she wants to do it, if I know the moves
Baby's in the back seat, givin' me the blues
Baby's in the back seat, straightenin' up her hair
I was gonna do it, but she said she didn't care
If I didn't get her home on time, her dad won't let her date
Now baby's in the back seat, baby, please don't be late
Baby's in the back seat, lookin' in the mirror
Everytime I look at her, the future's gettin' clearer
Her daddy's mad, my daddy's glad
That his boy's a daddy now
And baby's in the back seat, suckin' on her thumb
Baby and me, see how far we have come
Baby's in the back seat, crankin' up a smile
And now I know, we're ridin' in style
Cause baby's in the back seat, kickin' off her shoes
Baby's in the back seat, givin' me the blues
phosphorescent jellyfish
floatingfloating on an ocean of salt
like phosphorescent jellyfish
floating
rolling
rolling down the road
like an old red and white
pickup truck
rolling
finding
finding what we're after
after all these years
finding
just being
just being like an
old yellow coat
waiting on the wall
just being
glowing
glowing like a flashing
summer fire fly
glowing
seeing
seeing all that
could be everywhere
seeing
hearing
hearing the music in the air
the sparkles in your hair
hearing
floating
floating on an ocean of salt
like phosphorescent jellyfish
floating
Perfect
I don't feel wasted at allI feel perfect
How do you explain that
I feel perfect
3 am darkness
I feel perfect
Not prepared for hatred
though I know it's out there
But I can't change this
it feels perfect
Right now in my thought
I feel perfect
Don't ask me about
An hour from now
Because right now
I feel perfect
Lost?
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR WAYDID YOU FORGET HOW TO PLAY
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT
BUT ONLY FIND NIGHT
IS THE MUSIC BUT A MEMORY
THAT YOU CAN’T QUITE SEE
FADING AWAY IN THE BREEZE
LIKE A MOMENTARY SQUEEZE
YOU CAN’T FEEL IT ANYMORE
BUT YOU DID ONCE BEFORE
ESCAPING YOUR ARM’S REACH
LIKE THE TIDE FROM THE BEACH
FURTHER, FURTHER AWAY IT GOES
ONLY THOSE WHO STILL HEAR IT KNOWS
WHERE ITS SWEET REFRESHMENT FLOWS
THEY DRINK IT IN AND SOAK THEIR TOES
CRISP AND COOL, THE ELIXIR OF LIFE
PLUNGING DEEP LIKE A SURGEONS KNIFE
REMOVING THE HURT, RELEASING THE PAIN
FREEING YOUR SOUL TO RIDE ON THE TRAIN
ARE’NT YOU GLAD YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT STILL
GOING ROUND AND ROUND, A PART OF THE WHEEL
SPINNING AND TWIRLING AND SMILING AND FREE
BECAUSE YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE SKELETON KEY
OR ARE YOU ONE OF THE LONELY PEOPLE
LIKE AN ABANDONED CHURCH WHICH LOST ITS STEEPLE
STILL BEAUTIFUL INSIDE BUT PAINFUL TO SEE
KNOWING WHAT IT ONCE USED TO BE
HOLDING THE GHOSTS OF PROMISES UNFULFILLED
A JAGGED WOUND NEVER EVER TO BE HEALED
JUST THE SHELL OF WHAT WAS, NOW EMPTY AND SAD
NO LONGER SHINING WITH THE LIGHT IT HAD
THE BAND NEVER STOPPED PLAYING THEIR SONG
YOU NEVER REALLY STOPPED DANCING ALONG
THE STARS WERE ALWAYS GLISTENING
YOU ONLY FORGOT TO KEEP ON LISTENING
JUST FOR A LITTLE WHILE
NOW, THERES NOTHING LEFT TO DO BUT SMILE, SMILE, SMILE

Delicate Wings
Delicate Wings
Wings of flight
Physically change over-night
Metamorphose the rights of passage.
Believe it's time to follow the wind
Accept this unconditional compromise
Witness this earth's commitment
Blessed strength a last day of paradise.
What happened to yesterdays promise?
It was in heavens discretion seraph sent to arrive, set to leave,
Light, nothingness, being, actualized in a sense of oneness.
All around us the rain fell
Blue light stars fall in silent beginnings
There are no unknown shadows playing hide and seek.
Strange charade the movement is entirely yours no one else's
Subtle solitude reflective in transparency.
From the heart of hearts a delicate crossing
Now light returns unto its source of origin.
Now nothingness fades.
Now being beckons
A last step together, a first step alone.

the shepherd and his sheep
Like the shepherd calling to his sheep
--Softly calling
---Softly calling
They know the sound of his voice
And his feet as they are
--Softly falling
---Softly falling
Leading into all green pastures
With plenty of sweet clover
To eat.
No thought of wolves here,
Just the faithful shepherd
and his grateful sheep

They can hear him coming
They know the sound of his feet
They can hear him calling

under cover of another
Living my life under cover of anotherBut now I know it's time
for me to live,
A life of my own
All this time and you'd think
I would have learned it
But here I stand; all alone
Waiting for the sound of you
Pulling in the driveway
Hoping for the sound
of your voice on the phone.
So many days, gone by wasted
I don't want to waste any more,
I told you, I showed you, it's all I can do;
The rest is up to you.
And me, I need to see
That I'm not the answer to somebody's problem
It's time for me to live
A life of my own
Got to go home and sit awhile
God, I got to be alone
Will the rest of the world please
move over for one more man on his own
||: I don't know
---- I hope so :||
So many days gone by wasted
waiting for your letter
Sitting by the phone
Got to go home and sit awhile
God, I need to be alone
I spent all my life
Under cover of another
But now I know it's time
For me to live
A life of my own.
take a ride
Let the sun shine down, and let the river flowHold me in your arms while the seasons come and go
And when the dawn breaks, I'll be by your side
Come with me, let's take a ride
Let the rain fall down, and let the flowers grow
Take me by the hand and never let me go
And when the storm breaks, I'll be by your side
Come with me, let's take a ride
Let your love shine down, everywhere you go
And if you'll come with me, I just want you to know
Whatever roads we take, I'll be by your side
So come with me girl, let's take a ride
Seraph Game
The room is empty, identical insight appraising orthographical difficulties
Inactive omens once swept across an empty windowsill
Have become a manifestation of this cathartic fruition.
Play’s a game of name the seraph
Privilege to die without ego liberated without weight
Neutrality freewill carbon and ash
Expressions of blessed determination remain ever certain
Abide for the occasion remnants of what will be again
None of them are here, as if ghost are hidden
Behind the window in a charade of shadow and shade
Sudden liberation from the inner-struggle
Instinctive projection intuitive action inevitable compassion
Voices of belonging assonance follows
Causeway spirit appear in after-space
Is there anywhere hidden?Tranquil sense of ceaselessness
Neutrality giving presence unto the space between
Revealing everywhere the wind can hide
Play a game of name the angel
Grasp transfiguration of deathlessness
Fold the shroud as the flowers that close at night
Perseverance maintains common air, ordinary breath.
Intuitive embodiment allude familiar clue rebuke the grey
In the midst of mystery anomaly hints
The room is empty left to only stillness
faceless
it goes without sayingthe heavenly choir is
assembling
there's gonna be a
hoe-down
-if you passed the test
we'll see you there
on that other shore
underneath the rainbows
with that certain smile
un- believable ever knowing
down in the valley
the smoke rises
around the pile of ashes
up on the mountain
the fire's still burning bright
you can see the flames
through the trees at night
though you don't know
you're flying low
head in the clouds
don't stop to compare
until you're ready
to turn that finger around
when the light shines down
it doesn't matter where
you are
now
when me desires turned to expectationsthey took wings like griffins
and derailed my loco-motive
train
I wish I had a known about that
before it started to rain
Hey pull your head in
out of the wind
It's really starting to
blow
now
Pull your blanket in
tighter around you
And move closer to
the fire
I'll tell you a
story
now
One that will really
take you higher
Cause we're gonna climb
that hill
Sooner or later
We'll scale it like fish
And laugh when we get
to the top
And keep right on going
Flying
now
We're never gonna stop
Throw another log
on the fire
You're really gonna
like where I'm going
on this
You can leave all your stuff
over there
You won't need it where you're
going
now
Empty of all
hopes and dreams
But full of what
I cannot speak
There is only
this
now
Let it flow
All over you
now
Where the goosebumps
Run like crazy fools
Over your senses
And you forget
where you were going
now
What was I here to get?
What was the last thing
that I just thought?
It's all shredding
out there behind me
now
like tattered clothes
Oh yeah, that story
about the pilgrim
Standing in the barn door
in the rain
Yeah, pull your head in
out of the wind
It's really starting to
blow
now.
come home to Love
come home to Lovewhere ever you may stray
when the hallways shrink
and darken with shadow
come home to Love
if they rip your ticket
and say wait over here
but you see your ship
is leaving
come home to Love
when you moved away
it seemed okay
you wanted to make it
on your own
show you could really
take it
and if you've found
the treasure
you were after
then stand up tall
and hold your ground
for when the wind blows
the fools away
we'll see who is
still standing
talking normally
come home to Love
remember how the
first two piggie
houses blew away
in the wind
but that brick
shithouse still stands
come home to Love
while you still can
time's a wasting
did you listen to
the words of the songs
that you were playing?
come home to Love
where it's always like
you never left
deep thoughts
Blah bliggitty blahOoh ooh ahh
Shish boom bah
Ha ha ha
keep on dreaming
this was the first song I ever wrote, about 30 years ago when I was 16.
Float down the river
Look up at the stars
Climb the highest mountain
And find out who you are
Walk through the forest
Sail the deep blue sea
Open up you heart and let you spirit be free
Time waits for no one
But someone waits for time
Perched on a limb
They see their castles in the sky
I'd like to find a way
To make these dreams come true
But all I know is what we are
Is what we try and do, together
chorus
I've been around a long time now
And I can see what's going down
If it were up to me I'd change the world
All the things I'd like to see
Like love and peace and harmony
And a smile
For every boy and girl
Out on an island
Riding with the sun
Into eternity
The journey has begun
If were to make it
On this earth
That we all share
Protect the wilderness
The oceans and the air
Citizen Forgive Fellow Citizen
Forgive them for all they're good at doesn't make money Forgive them for they feel as someone else burden is heaviest
Forgive me for acting like I'll break voicing these chain dragging complaints
Forgive the squeaky complaint from the corner of the oil laden working day.
Citizen forgive those unable to embrace a most precious moment in life
Citizen forgive those in loss of compassion and patience waiting in line with unwarranted self importance
Citizen forgive those in the turning of the way went astray
Citizen forgive natural state of new money cruel as it is
Forgive Saudi Bush their attempt at constitutional disregard, voter fraud, lies and war profiteering
Forgive the opposition for offering only more oppression
Forgive the nationalist running on a war criminals' record
Forgive those who rival their belief systems construed with the image of their enemies mannerism
Citizen forgive them for giving up handling snakes for lent
Citizen forgive the tax stamped skull censorship in a sensory chip
Citizen forgive the Olive Garden for insulting the Nights of Columbus
Citizen forgive these dream filled eyes for believing too easily
The embers glowed softly,
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,"
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."
" So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."
comes a time...
lyrics by Robert Hunter
Been walking all morning
Went walking all night
I can't see much difference
Between the dark and light
And I feel the wind
And I taste the rain
Never in my mind
To cause so much pain
From day to day
Just letting it ride
You get so far away
From how it feels inside
You can't let go
'Cause your afraid to fall
But the day may come
When you can't feel at all
Comes a time when the blind man takes your hand
Says "don't you see?'
Gotta make it somehow
On the dreams you still believe
Don't give it up
You got an empty cup
Only love can fill
Only love can fill
thanks for your help, it was fun
Jesus pulled pork sometimes a great notion for a free lunch
you can throw my shoes they crucify you barefoot then Bar B Q and a movie on the shroud screen
taking me back home
oh that really takes me backto 1979 and i'm at a party
with john steinbeck jr
and he's talking abuot buddhamind
and all the ladies are
rubbing and stroking on ginsberg
and its a little nauseating
so i wander out the back door
onto a balcony and sit down
on some concrete steps
to bemoan the follies of
fickle fame when out stomps
kesey and he's on a rant
pacing back and forth
on this baclony like he was
the pope or the leading general
of some deranged country
talking about my tai chi
teachers in glowing terms
jane and bataan that guy
was something else push
him to the ground and he'd
pop right back up like some
punching balloon clown. ahhhh.
and you know the whole time
he's talking to me and about me
asking questions and not
really
listening to the answers
just using them as his
platform to launch,
and then he'd pace
back and forth on the balcony
before me on the concrete
talking in the rhythm
of his walking and
i just sat listening
holding my breath
not knowing
where it was going
yeah that really
takes me back
back to the beginning
i'm going backback to the beginning now
back before plastic
scourged the land
back before sticky wrap
back before handi-wipes
back before candy crap
back to the beginning
i'm gonna start again
cause it looks like where
we're heading
is not where
i want it to end
so i'm going back
back to the beginning now
before there were cars
and sunglasses
and neckties
back before digital
back before analog
back to where we're
just banging sticks
on rocks
making music
however we please
i'm going back
don't try to find me now
back before numbers on a dial
back before hands on a face
back before time
back to the beginning now
i'm gonna start again
check my math and
compass readings
to make sure
this is the trail
i want to be on now
back before new school
back before new wave
back before new age
back to the beginning now
maybe i'll just
never leave at all
I AM
I amWaiting
For God's evolution
I am
Waiting for the storm
I am
Waiting
For evil to crumble
I am
Waiting for Love
Victory
Is sweetest to those
Who have known defeat
Someday
The plan will be complete
Till then
Love everyone
And make them your friend
In the end
It all comes down to Love

A birthday poem
Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me!I should try to get laid tonight
It's been awhile, you see.
my voice
I can`t say a word
my voice goes unheard
my vision is blurred
I can`t say a word
it will not be heard
why do i go unheard
why is my vision blurred
can you tell me what you heard
i promise i won`t say a word
my vision stay`s blurred
my voice stay`s unheard
hey stuman
got no answers, but just remember, this topic wouldn't be here if you hadn't suggested it!
An Ode to johnman and stuman
Questions with no answers, voices going unheardLife's full of little challenges and often vision's blurred
But meaning's there if you brush your hair,
Squint and take a looky
When in doubt just give a shout
Then kick back and have a cookie
(it was all I could do not to stick "nookie" in there somewhere ;^) )

When the big ones
When the big ones die— well, we’ll never see their like again!
Sad then, a hole in the world,
never to be filled.
Building’s refuse hauled away,
Park, monument,
stone of artful design,
empty air.
The best?
Best thing, to die a small one.
Small things are always here,
no beginning, no end to the line.
We cover Earth with our small joys,
replaceable as rain,
shiny beetles, the many facets of sand.
We don’t go away, we small ones—
and that’s the biggest thing.
The Post-Birthday Haiku
Big plans and high hopesDarn! Dreams don't always come true
There's always next year!

in the city
It's darker at the bottom, but atop is where rain falls,
clouds roll, and thunder speaks.
The pace is quick
and folks move fast,
but underneath
its easy to see
those glimpses and shimmers
of life
of freedom
of love
and of course, truth.
I'd rather spend my time
feeling the rain on my face,
enjoying my world of one,
my world that shows
life
freedom
and love.

Outlaw ALL Dancing!
.Please keep writing and always go back to it, you'll just get better and better!
.
here's an absurd thought -
your Supreme God says
outlaw ALL dancing
moving bodies to music
must be seen as evil
.
absurd thought -
God of the Universe says
only Earthlings may dance
it is simply forbidden
elsewhere in the Universe
.
absurd thought -
God of the Universe says
rock and roll is evil
it's the devil's best music
and dancing to it is sin
.
All real freedom starts with freedom of speech. Without freedom of speech there can be no real freedom.

Selfless Breath
With this loss of nothingness, we leave these surroundings a selfless breathMoment to moment, act to action, these ordinary acts of spirit.
Destroy our transparent cage as liberation takes us to its center of definition
The participants simplify the inevitable, here forth throughout the darkness dismissed.
Quite as a hospital eventually the bedside struggle
Improves unto a condition foreseen as a continuum complete.
Relinquished the voicing falling silently out of mind
Into a formless neutrality, beholden unto a firmaments eternal repletion.
standing on the shoulders of giants
Wlaking down the railroad tracksCounting counting
Flipping that old monkey wrench
Over and over
I see no new tracks in the snow
Now we are where no one goes
Into the midnight breath
Frost growing on the walls
Wind chill advisories
Make me want to take a walk
Riding down the road
Through the night
Watching the highway
Disappear under my feet
If I freeze the scene
It blurs out to clarity
Lines of angels descending
On light beams
Make me smile
Everytime
I think I'm Going to Fly
If it's trueThen you will know
Right to the point where
No man goes
No man goes
No man goes
Down that road alone
It hurts just to watch
Someone going to stub their toe
on that same old tree root
Still poking it's head
up out of the ground
It's been done before
But never
All the way home
That is why we are here
To see it through
Walking to nowhere
Doesn't take twice as long
As it ususally did.
I can find my way there
In a moment now
Surrounded by Love
Inside and outside
And up on the ridge
Throwing my arms to the sky
I think I'm going to fly
