This was an extra show added
This was an extra show added to the 30th & 31st October shows due to overdemand for those two shows. The Arena wasn't full though but that might have been due to problems with publicizing the extra date. This is not a great venue normally from the point of view of acoustics but the band filled up the cavernous space very well with their magnificent din. I will never forget the way that drums>space swirled around the room, tumbling out of the four massive speaker sets dangling from the roof in the four corners of the 'room'. Jerry's voice had been struggling the two previous two nights but seemed to stage a recovery for this last night of three. They only played Stander On The Mountain three times and this is reportedly the best attempt they made. It's a pretty good song and they should have kept playing it regardless of whether Bruce Hornsby was sitting in or not. It was till a bit sloppy at this stage. Set 2 was great: the inclusion of Dark Star answered the prayers of about 4,000 British Deadheads. Arguably one of the best Dark Stars ever was played in Wembley in 1972 (though not in this venue). I saw some Deadheads getting hassled at the tube station by anti-hippies after the gig. I remember the chuffed feeling I had when I finally laid hands on a SBD of this show (courtesy of a Japanese Deadhead) about 5 years later.

Final Dead show
This was the last time i saw the Dead
This show i managed to get 2nd row in the Phil Zone and got some photos, which i will try to upload.
They had to play Dark Star tonight as they hadn´t played it in London Yet this tour.
At the time i lived in Brighton (my home twon) which is 50 miles south of London so i was able to commute, there are late night trains.
Look forward to Someone from the Family playing Europe again

'twas time for the tour to come to an end
...I had been on the entire tour, I was tired, and I got the feeling the band was tired too. Wonderful tour, but don't particularly recall this being a strong show
I was there
This was my first and last dead gig and it was fantastic. I remember the only reason they stopped playing was because the were warned the last tube was at 11.30 and the audience wouldn't be able to get home. A 4 hour extravaganza with now break.Magic!
Thatcher Attack
Loved Maggies Farm, as did all the Brits in attendance; Dark Star was a welcomed treat (althugh by no means one of the best performances I have seen).
Live Long and Prosper
My one and only show twas obviously a wonderful experience.
Check out the second set
Yes Jerry's voice was knackered and undoubtedly the band were tired and looking forward to getting back home, but this was a good show nonetheless. I was with my mate Jo and we had a wicked time. Victim started with that Mickey percussive start and Dark Star was well weird. There was a SOTM tease before Wharf Rat and U.S. Blues seemed to say farewell to England. Listening back to the London shows I rate this one the most - Especially the second set! Well worth a gander.
The Wire magazine in the UK
Hi everyone. This is The Wire calling. We're a UK magazine, and we are running a one page Epiphany from the writer Richard King about his experience of catching the Dead for the first time on the last night of their 1990 Wembley run. This is a very last minute request if any of you out there has photos from this night, or if not at Wembley, another from the same era, preferably with Bruce Hornsby in the picture. We're tight on deadline so please contact me as soon as possible if any of you can help. Please write to chris@thewire.co.uk. Thank you!
