Grateful Dead

.......I don't remember much.........there's a good chance I was at this show.

What a numbskull ! Was taping the show : good equipment, decent position .... but used 1 tape for both sets ... hence lost all of set 1 which was the better of the two. Remember throwing the 2nd tape into the machine and ... blank ! what ... "it's gotta be there" ... well nope. Oh well, shit happens.

things were a little hazy back than to say the least..same thing happened to me blue yodel,a t springfield the year before.. we were in the van getting ready to listen tto our "epic" recording... no first set..oh well..half the fun back than was getting equipment in setting up.. taking turns manning the sony wile you spaced ..it was all good. going through the shows year by year,, once I look at the venue, date and set list,,, something always comes back about that show.. or the day itself..at my age I guess its a good memory work out.. looking foward to spring 09... .

It was a late afternoon on this beautiful September day. I was just chillin', starring out the window of the common area in my dorm. Two girls come into view. We make eye contact, and they walk towards me. "Do you have a car?" One shouts up to me. I tell them I do. "Do you want to go see the Grateful Dead?" was the follow up. Six of us squeezed into my Mustang, and drove half an hour from school in Mass. to Providence. Scalped floor seats on our way up to the civic center, and walked right in. I had never seen the Dead. I was into a lot of music. This would be my 31st concert in my 19 years. Beach Boys, Wings, Chicago, Boston, Peter Frampton, Steve Miller, ELP, Aerosmith, CSN, Yes, Dylan, Moody Blues, J. Geils, Allman Bros., Outlaws, Doobie Bros. Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Who, Jeff Beck, Marshall Tucker, Van Halen and then, THE GRATEFUL DEAD. I was blown away. It was so true. You haven't lived until you've seen the Dead.

three of us from nj in a plymouth duster headed up there, possibly the prior night, met someone outside who had 1" square blotters, 15 mins after splitting one i was in another universe, stayed there for three days, the show brought me back to earth but ended so quickly, then it was back in the car and we drew straws to drive and it was my friend but he couldn't handle the 3 speed shifter so i got tasked, man it was wild. i swore that Jerry was god for a while after that, right ?

I was in 10th grade and my parents let me go on a school night! Got the ticket stub it cost $8:50, ROR got me hooked in.
