    WARLOCKS & THE ACID TESTS
Recently, a whole collection of previous unseen and extremely rare Acid Test posters and handbills has been discovered, including a couple pieces of original artwork by Jerry Garcia. Included in this collection was an original hand-colored handbill for the Palo Alto Big Beat Acid Test, as well as a Poster for Mother McCree's at the Tangent in 1964, a Poster for the Warlocks first paid gig at Magoo's on May 5, 1965, a poster for the Warlocks fourth performance at Frenchy's on June 18, 1965, Phil Lesh's first gig. A set of tickets for the In Room in Belmont on Sept. 1, 1965 and a poster for the first Acid Test at the Spread in Santa Cruz on Nov. 27, 1965 as well as a Fillmore Acid Test handbill and a handbill for Carthay studios in Los Angeles on March 19, 1966. It also appears that Jerry Garcia designed several of these items himself. The site that features all of this and more is here: http://www.postertrip.com/public/department37.cfm There are 33 pages altogether, which can be accessed from the main page. The whole collection can be viewed here : http://www.postertrip.com/public/5591.cfm Further details like the Jerry Garcia original artwork can be viewed here: http://www.postertrip.com/5584.cfm

Hey all, sorry I've been gone so long. College started up, and I was overwhelmed. I don't seem to have Flying_Monkey's address in my inbox. But as soon as that's remedied, it'll be out and circulating once more! You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant.

Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm beatle_head42, but I'm in Middle America and Longrifle is in Western Canada, so this leg of the journey might be a little longer than others. It takes 5-7 days for vines to get from here to the East Coast of the U.S., so I bet it's more like 7-10 days to get to Western Canada. Longrifle may have not even received it yet. Hang in there . . . ~~~~~~~ "They say Cain caught Abel rolling loaded dice"

Hi! I couldn't restrain myself from mailing this out today, even though I said "Saturday". I never heard back from playdead; Pajak however is ready, willing and eager to take The Test so it is on its way to the way northeast. And here I go again, unilaterally dicking with a signup list. I'm putting playdead and Billy S at the end, for obvious reasons, and correcting the numbering. Let me know if I'm pissing anybody off...but most of all: Enjoy! The package has arrived! Thank you, MitD. If I can get some work done today, I will drop tonight and get it out in tomorrow's post, perhaps the next day. PMing boxen posthaste. I'm half way through the test (at least it feels half way - too far to swim back!) and no word from boxen. joneb - get on deck in case I don't hear from boxen by week's end. This stuff shouldn't linger in one place too long; might explode. This would be the New Order: 30. Pajak 31. boxen 32. joneb 33. grdaed73 34. Dead Man Telling Tales 35. emily-j 36. hard_to_handle 37. TxJed 38. playdead 39. Billy S 40. mercedes42 But I've yet to hear from either boxen or joneb, and Billy S and playdead have already both been bumped to the end at least once, so keep your eye on the thread and when the head ahead of you in line gets IT, then pm your coordinates.... ...they've disappeared, Billy S has anyway, been absent without replying to PMs for weeks now. Playdead PM'd me last week and said he was going to stop vining, for awhile at least. Probably OK to move mercedes up. Don't know what the deal is with boxen, thought he was fairly active still. Just don't let this vine disappear again, it's been reseeded like three or four times already, it's one of the first vines any new viner will sign up for. The material on these six discs is must have for any serious collector/historian. I recognized a number of the passages referenced in Tom Wolfe's Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test when burning them. The Jer interview is great, both for the content of his answers and the background noise of people coming and going at 710. All in all good stuff; disjointed and poorly recorded, but eminently collectible. Here is the new list, unless we hear otherwise from playdead or Billy S: 30. Pajak 31. boxen 32. joneb 33. grdaed73 34. Dead Man Telling Tales 35. emily-j 36. hard_to_handle 37. TxJed 38. mercedes42 39. playdead 40. Billy S I will give boxen and/or joneb until COB tomorrow, then I will offer the sheet to grdaed73. Cool? "The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer." - Ken Kesey

This list has gotten hard to follow - and we've already had a couple of re-seeds. Apparently, Paps has the package & doesn't know where to send it - she never posted that she had received it & didn't know where to look to find out who was next in line. Keeping track is critical to prevent lost vines - I use an excel spreadsheet to track vines. Sample Vine Tracking Spreadsheet If this vine is off track - then whoever is next in line should PM paps & ask her to send it along - but be sure to post here, so everyone knows the status.

hey now erickat! "We" had no mixup, Paps stalled the vine. Back in the beginning of November I first PM'd paps regarding this vine. No reply. I pm'd her again two weeks later, still no reply. In mid December we gave up on it, and TNHG reseeded the vine, sending the copy to me in mid-December. The vine appears to be moving well now. Paps finally replied to me yesterday (after more than two months!) asking where to send the vine. I told her to keep the darn thing. She apparently needs help keeping track of vines, and also needs to read her damn PMs. Thanks for your help. for discs 5 and 6 to this vine as it circulates. I was a little lost as to what discs five and six were when the vine arrived. Being a crafty researcher I quickly got to the bottom of the mystery.
