Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we'll check out some Grateful Dead music from 1973, 1979 and 1985.
From the middle night of the terrific three night run at the Boston Music Hall in the fall of 1973, we have Greatest Story Ever Told, Not Fade Away>GDTRFB>One More Saturday Night from 12/1/73. The first and the third nights of this run were turned into the excellent Dick's Picks Vol. 14, but there was some good music played on 12/1/73 as well.
Next up from 12/3/79 in Chicago, we have the end of the second set, featuring Space>Lost Sailor>Saint Of Circumstance>Wharf Rat>Truckin', Johnny B Goode. This is from the cassette master, and has a bit of hiss, but overall these fall 1979 cassette masters sound pretty darn good.
Lastly this week we'll check out the entire first set from 11/22/85 in Oakland at the relatively small Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center, featuring Hell In A Bucket ; Sugaree ; New Minglewood Blues ; Althea ; Cassidy ; Dupree's Diamond Blues ; Let It Grow.
Be sure to stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.
