    Mix
Listened to KFOG replay and the mix had Trey so out front I couldn't hear the rest of the band. Could just be the radio replay, but I wanna hear Phil, Bobby and the rest of the band. Can't wait to see it at the movie theater on Friday (and maybe Saturday and Sunday)

Fare Thee Well Grateful Dead, Pt. 2
Watch 'em knock 'em dead in Chicago. I must've gone to at least 100 shows. The first one was in 1966 in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle, or the Furthur Fesival at San Francisco State College, whichever was first. I actually felt like Phil was addressing me personally when he made his speech at the end and thanked everyone for coming out, because I tried to get tickets to as many Phil Lesh and Friends at Terrapin Crossroads shows as I could. He came up to me there and let me say, "Hi," which rock stars don't have to do. However I couldn't afford to follow Bobby around like I used to, and he always lets me know, which is flattering that he invited me. He sang a song about losing money, which is true. He sang some other songs which might have been directed at me, and I instinctively responded by singing along. Then, at the beginning of the last song, "Fare Thee Well, My Honey", "Brokedown Palace", I thought he was like, he wanted me to sing along, so I did, and then he ended it abruptly, got in line with their arms on their shoulders, did their bow, and it was over, but I'm planning to see the live stream of all 3 Chicago shows at Terrapin Crossroads. When I went to UCI in 1987, my dad gave me $100,000/year, an apartment in grad student housing, a car, and a bunch of credit cards on his account. They tracked me into the Information and Computer Science major. Then he came down and took some of the credit cards back, and my sister took all 6 of my Irvine Meadows Grateful Dead tickets. Like William Burroughs wrote, "When did they ever give anything that they didn't take back if they could, and they always could!" and he went to Harvard. I went out and bought 6 more, at the inflated price of $50, for $300, and canceled the aftershow party at my apartmnent I'd posted on the Well. Because of losing the credit cards, I got a bad grade and had to go to CSUB. Laurie Senit moved in, and life was pretty good. We lived across from the campus in an apartment complex with 4 swimming pools and 4 jacuzzis, the 2nd best in town. My parents bought me a brand-new Toyota Tercel. Then my mom said, "We're going to send the two of you to Hawaii. Pick out a hotel from this brochure." I picked the Big Island because I'd been to Maui, and the Kona Hilton because the Dead liked Hiltons. In nearby Paradise Cove the scuba boat captain claimed he was on a first-name basis with Jerry. When Jerry died the Rolling Stone article said his house was in Kona, which I didn't know, and gave the name of his dive shop. I called information and the dive shop, they said it was across the street from the Kona Hilton, and Jerry probably did used to go scuba diving at Paradise Cove. They were showing videos of him scuba diving tonight. That's why I wanted to do it, but I had to do it straight, not being a rock star. I proposed to Laurie on the beach in Kona. We stopped at my parents' house in San Francisco on our way home. My dad, James Abrahamson, had 3 restaurants, Pam Pam East on Geary and Taylor, Rosebud's English Pub next door, and Biff's Coffee Shop on 28th and Broadway in Oakland, and he sold institutional furniture, commission contract sales, for Thonet and American Chair Co., and later Serta Mattress, in the Merchandise Mart on 10th and Market. My mother, Lucille Abrahamson, was elected to the San Francisco School Board twice, two years as President, worked in Mayor Dianne Feinstein's Office of Childcare, and was appointed S.F. Human Rights Commissioner by Mayor Frank Jordan, the former Police Chief. I told them we were engaged and my Dad said, "Don't marry her, I can't afford it. We sold the restaurants to Mama's, they went bankrupt, didn't pay, we went to court, the judge fined me $160,000, and they wanted me to declare bankruptcy." My little brother said later it was his half-partner, Bill Munro, the manager's fault. He abused the help, especially the head cook, who really ran the place, the union went on strike, won so many benefits they had to go out of business and sell it. Munro had cooked the books, the judge saw it, and hence the fine. My dad said it was because I had spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts, but I don't think that was correct, although I may have spent too much money. They wanted me to go to this psychiatrist in Bakersfield, Dr. Perelli-Minetti, who was a nice man. He said the Grateful Dead was OK. He was always telling me expensive restaurants to which to take Laurie, like where he took his wife, and encouraged me to spend lots of money on her, buy expensive dresses, jewelry, etc, so I thought it was OK. He gave me Risperdal when it first came out, in 1994. We didn't really go to that many Grateful Dead concerts. My dad didn't like the Grateful Dead and Bill Graham for other reasons. When I first got back from the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock, I tried to turn him on, he thought about it for a minute and decided no, he was afraid to get busted, he was too square to get on the bus. Later he said that Bill Graham had applied to join their Jewish men's club, the Concordia-Argonaut, on Van Ness and Geary, and that he was going to vote against him. Not only was he a hippie, and made his money that way, but he was an orphan, an immigrant, and a Holocaust survivor. What it really was is that Graham was more successful than him in the role of Jewish businessman. My brother moved to Mill Valley, said he saw Graham's house and was impressed. Graham made more money than all of them, and he started as a hippie, and that filled squares like my dad with jealousy, anger, envy, and rage. My dad said, "I wish the Grateful Dead were dead," in his outrageous way. When Bill Graham's helicopter crashed on the way home from the Concord Pavilion and they had his funeral in my dad's temple, Temple Emanu-el, my dad said, "I hope it didn't hurt the helicopter!" He even hated them during the Haight-Ashbury and helped the City Fathers drive them out of town. My family was spending a lot of money at first, and I thought they were encouraging me to emulate them. When he first gave me the $100,000/year, the credit cards on his account, and sent me to UCI, my dad was acting like he could afford for me to buy anything I saw that I wanted. Then he told not to buy anything over $200, and I complied. They were all spending lots of money. He had 2 new BMW"s and a new Mercedes-Benz. He and my mom went on a temple tour of Eastern Europe and stayed in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, she said it was a five-star hotel. My sister went to Yale after me, in Art, then got a Masters in Art Education at Stanford, an Ed.D. at Harvard, a J.D. at Cal, got a job in the White House as Assistant Chief-of-Staff to Vice-President H.W. Bush in the Ronald Reagan White House and then Founding Chairman of the Barbara Bush Campaign For Family Literacy (me at UCI) in the President H.W. Bush White House. There's a photo of her and Vice-President H.W. Bush having an audience with Pope John Paul in Sweden, and she is shaking hands with the Pope. That dress must have cost something, not to mention the travel. In her closet I saw hundreds of French gowns, and more shoes than Imelda Marcos. She met this guy from the Council of Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., a USC Professor of International Relations, Jonathan Aronson. He went to Harvard and Stanford in Political Science, and his father was a rich St. Louis banker. They bought a mansion in Bel-Air near the Reagans', put in an Italian marble bathtub, baby grand piano, swimming pool, his self-portrait in the living room, pirates' table, Persian rug, and he drove a Jaguar S3. He said, "We're going to Paris for 2 weeks," "I'm going to Thailand to speak," and they had their son's Bar Mitzvah in Bali, so they didn't hold back on the spending. They took the whole family, including me, to the Club Med in Ixtapa, but they went bankrupt because I spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts! My brother spent $2000 of my dad's money for a Rolex watch to keep up with the other Oshos and flew back and forth to India every few weeks for years. They flew me there, to Europe twice, and to Hawaii twice. I guess my dad was having problems, and he asked me to spend less money, but he didn't really communicate that I should spend less money because he was having financial problems. I was spending too much money on Laurie. So I ignored him. So he took away some credit cards, and I kept spending at the same level. I couldn't comprehend that commission contract sales is an up-and-down business. Then two new credit cards, each with a $5000 limit, came in the mail. I should have sent them back, but I couldn't resist the temptation. Soon I realized that I couldn't let my dad find out about them, because he would take them away, too. I set out to get revenge on him for taking away my credit cards by charging even *more* money. The first thing I did was take Laurie to the most expensive restaurant in Los Angeles, Spago's, $140 for salmon for two. Then the 2nd most expensive, Palms in West Hollywood. Then dresses, jewelry, and when we went to Hawaii we did the same thing with the recreation. Maybe *that's* what drove my dad into near-bankruptcy, not the Grateful Dead concerts. We really didn't go to that many. I just spent a lot of money on her. She just liked to go to movies, comedy clubs, country-western dance halls, miniature golf, roller skating, she was always thinking of something. They cut my allowance from $100,000/year to $40,000/year, my sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jonathan, became "trustees of your trust fund", keep the Blue Cross PPO. They took away all 12 of my credit cards and defaulted on them, leaving me in debt to the credit card companies for $15,000, with bad credit to this day, since 1993. They raised it up to $60,000 and I moved to New Mexico, near the Castagnas who used to live at the Hog Farm. Alberto asked me to call my mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law and ask each of them for $10,000 for a liver transplant for his Hepatitis C because his job as Director of Taos County Ambulances, working his way up from paramedic and EMT, didn't have good insurance. They said no. Maybe that's what set 'em off. They asked me to go to a psychiatrist, who dismissed me. Then Laurie wanted me to come back to Los Angeles and move in to her apartment. They wanted me to find another psychiatrist. I found psychedelic therapist Dr. Robert Newport online at the Island Group in Santa Cruz, referred by Bruce Eisner, but my sister fought with him and he lost his license for prescribing medications, including Risperdal, without seeing the patients. I called him and he said, "Did your sister let up on you yet? I'm not a psychiatrist any more, I'm a painter." So they took me to Dr. Lisa Fine, who also gave me Risperdal, which gave me diabetes. Laurie got it too, from Seroquel. They found the diabetes when a cardiolgist wanted to do an emergency heart surgery,an angiogram and an angioplasty. My brother drove my sister-in-law's Ford Escort to L.A. from Sedona. They said they were going to give it to me. He showed it to me and said, "This is your car." They said they were going to give it to me after the surgeries, but they changed their mind and never did. My car had totally broken down at a job interview in Irvine just a few days before my appointment with the cardiologist, who decided I was going to have emergency heart surgery. When I recovered I stopped by at some friends from the Cubensis shows and they talked me into starting going to shows again, to the Phil Lesh and Friends show and the Ratdog show at the Wiltern, and the Ratdog show at the House of Blues. I'd told Richie on the phone I'd stopped going to shows when Jerry died and he'd said, "I did too." They had a picture of them with the 4 original members in an airport on the way to a concert called The Dead. After that, this psychologist Eric Asa-Dorian from the Life Adjustment Team, probably a drug rehab, they said her mother called, shows up in our living room, posing as a Deadhead, except with more, better tickets than me. Then they got me to go to LAT and I never knew it was a drug rehab, it was disguised as marriage counseling or something. In the end they took the $60,000/year except for meds, medical bills, Anthem Blue Cross PPO, SSI, and put me in Brentwood Manor board-and-care home for two years, I think illegally, before I had learned how to treat the diabetes, so it had developed another complication besides the heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, or diabetic nerve pain, or "burning feet". When they moved me out of Laurie's apartment 12 years ago with the Comcast that was the last time they let me have cable, except for a brief period. No police, no arrest, no charges, no hearing, no trial, no sentence, no jail, no prison, no due process. No evidence or proof that *I* ever did anything wrong, as far as I'm concerned, frames and smears I've never heard, let alone allowed to answer. I said I'd sue all of them for $2 billion for attempted murder, elder financial abuse, false imprisonment, psychiatric torture, medical malpractice, emotional anguish, pain and suffering, and my attorney, Bruce Margolin, who'd been Timothy Leary's attorney (I went to a fundraiser they had at Timothy Leary's house in Beverly Hills when he was running for State Senator), said, "Where'd you get the $2 billion?" so $200 million is more in the range, I think. I had to get a job selling Sprint phones B2B to small businesses in the South, work my way out of there and get some financial aid from Cal State East Bay. I'd been a junior Computer Science major at Cal State Northridge when I was living with Laurie before the surgeries. And Tina Kimmel, a Cal Ph.D. in Social Work I met at the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock got my sister to give me a $68,000 annuity that my dad left me, so that was pretty good, so I got to go to Monterey and Camp Winnarainbow, and they're paying for a lot of things now. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I'm still a senior Computer Science major and pre-law. Afterwards Alberto died, I called Richie from the board-and-care, he called my sister, I called him back, and he had terminal liver cancer. Alberto flew out and carved his tombstone, and he picked out wood for Tinker to make his coffin, but my sister wouldn't give me $100 to visit him at Camp Winnarainbow before he died. Steve had died of hep C. Then Hunter Thompson committed suicide. When I was going to the LAT psychiatrist to whom they forced me to go, I emailed Cap'n Skypilot to post something I could show him on his office computer, and he wrote a story about a man whose parents he said were responsible for the death of Ken Kesey and the assassination of JFK. When I got up here Vince Welnick committed suicide. I ran into Lou Todd, then he got sick and died, and then Tinker, who I once saw drive the Furthur bus. Charlene said her landlady wouldn't rent her house anymore, she moved in with her daughter; her other daughter got accused of murder, and she didn't do it. Laurie's elementary schoolteacher friend's apartment caught on fire and they blamed her. My Deadhead lawyer friend said his SUV caught on fire. I can't figure out the reason for all this. I would be interested if anybody, especially with legal knowhow, had any helpful advice. I'm thinking of appealing to my Yale classmates, to see if any of them are big-time lawyers yet, and I don't think any Democratic politicians have seen it, since most of them don't have email addresses. They were telling people I was dying, but the doctors said my numbers were good, so you can't die from controlled diabetes, maybe it was just wish-fulfillment. And Jerry famously died of a diabetic heart attack in a drug rehab, maybe someone got ideas. While I was in Brentwood the lawyer sent me a copy of the trust instrument where my parents had initialed that when my mom dies, the inheritance, which it originally says was divided into thirds between me, my brother, and sister, they rubbed me out and divided it in half between my brother and sister. She'll get my mom's house worth about $2 million, and she has a $4.3 million house in Bel-Air, and a house in Telluride, and my dad bought my brother a house in Sedona. I was living in Laurie's apartment. My brother will get my dad's commercial property in Oakland, a tire and party store. And there's some money they'll divide in half. So here's the deal....50 years is sumpin....most of us want to be there....personally, I wouldn't miss it for the world, and am taking my son. So right off the bat, I got the plane tickets, and the hotel room...and then four days later did the mail order...maybe I'll get the tix, maybe not. Maybe the fan club pre-sale will work for me, maybe not...maybe ticketmaster will work, maybe not...maybe I'll do the VIP deal and skip the mortgage, maybe not...but it is THE show to get to, period. Here's a story for you on this peaceful Saturday night:...back in "the day" which was the probably in the 90's, when the only way to get tickets was mail-in or stand in line at Ticketmaster, I got to the only outlet in town at 7:30 am...they opened at 9:45 or so, tix went on sale at ten ...but we all knew that the ticket register went "live" a couple of minutes early...I at there in my lawn chair, feeling pretty smug, and dumb too, but smug, because I was the first in line and all...and when they opened the door, I ran over to the ticket outlet...I think the store was a sporting goods place, and selling tix was a sideline....and told the clerk, "I'll give you a ten-spot for every ticket you can punch out before 10 AM...they otta start showing tickets being available at 9:58, and then you start punching buttons, here's the cash". He said, "Really? We can't sell tickets before ten am...but it's my last day here anyway, so what the heck". The show was at Shoreline, and when the blank screen lit up, he started hammering away at the keyboard...I had a wad of cash and every-time he scored a ticket, I slapped down two twenties for the ticket and a ten spot for him...he hammered, I slapped...inside of three minutes I had one ticket for each day.,,and one was on row BBB, right in front. Later, when being escorted down to the seat for one of the shows, way way way down in front, I heard someone say..."he must know some-one, no way are those seats available for the public". All you can do is smile, smile smile.... Anyhow, best of luck to everyone. I hope you all get tickets, get a compfy place to stay, and join in the event of a lifetime for many of us. As Bill said many years ago, "They aren't just the best at what they do, they are the only ones who do what they do". And they'll be there this 4th of July weekend, doing it again...You gonna be there? Hope so...cheers and love to all!

Been reading comments from people who have used AXS ticketing, and I'm really leery about using the system for the pre-sale now. Examples include buyers having to enter a 'waiting room' for long periods of time, only to get dumped out to retry again. Some accounts have stated getting to the venue and the attendant saying that they couldn't enter because someone had already used that ticket. Someone said that they received a surprise email months after ordering tickets, confirming cancellation of their order. Shocked at the news, this person stated that AXS forced a 10% refund on them. I urge everyone wanting to go to these shows to read some of the reviews on AXS Facebook page. Any of your opinions on this are welcomed. All I know is that Chicago is a long haul for lots of people to go, only to be told at the gate that their tickets have been oversold. I'm REALLY pumped about going to the shows and don't want anyone to get ripped off.

this is one "trip" I can do without.First heard about it I was very excited but its playing out more like last time in Chicago 95..lol Every room within the distance of the Chicago train/transit system is over $270 a night(normal rates at same hotels is $125). The tickets are micky moused into a 3 tier ordering system thats proving dubious at best. Im sure the lots will open late and close early(this one im guessing) Any campgrounds in the region couldn't be seen from the willis (sears tower) with a telescope do to the curvature of the earth. Boy the promoter must of thrown a ton of money at them for this deal. When I hear of some of the venues/promoters that were bidding/negotiating with them(can any one say Bonaroo) to get this 3 night stand and to see them pick a busy city on a holiday weekend with none of the rooms necessary to hold the people who are going to go see it.... Haven't they been in this business for a while??? Then the press release promo crap...How fitting it is to go back where they last played? In a way there right on the mark...I will be just as bad as last time. That's a show I'd prefer to forget.. Reliving that one is nothing to celebrate.(and I'm not even a 95'Hater) Hope y'all have fun though :)

I understand the frustrations... I would say to anyone looking for rooms to check out condo rentals on flipkey, VRBO, and homeaway. There are still a few reasonable apt/condo rentals that are below $200/night. Thats how I beat the crazy prices. Got a tiny little studio today off the L line for about 130/night. If you spend the time, you can find a way. This isn't the Grateful Dead and I get that. Obviously, calling it a dead show is just marketing as the boys surely feel an obligation to do the shows for the 50th anniversary. I'm sure the price is right and the last show in Chicago is a perfect ending. They make a big buck while giving the fans some closure and an opportunity to all gather once more. I guess from how I see it, by calling it the Grateful Dead, they have raised the flags to call us home. One more Saturday night! Its not Further, Ratdog, Other Ones... What is left of the Dead will come together to play the songs we know and love. You will NEVER see a show like this again, ever! Never. (unless of course they decide to play a couple more shows later in the summer ;) I respect those who want to stay away because of the circus this has caused. I respect that they wanted to do the old school style of ticket ordering. Problem is, not many of us are old school anymore. Folks who were on the ball have a shot at getting the mail order tickets. Folks who have 4 computers set up with different usernames have a shot at getting pre-sale tickets. If you're not doing that, just know thats what you're up against with the majority of folks trying to score a tix. I don't blame you for not liking it BUT it is the world we live in. I was checking out Chicago's craigslist yesterday and I already found scalpers selling tickets to all 3 shows. Some were going well over 1600 bucks a pop! How did they do it?? Lets say they sent in 1000 mail order requests, each for 4 tickets to all 3 shows. Even if they have a 30% success rate, they will still get 1200 tickets. Lets say they are split between the premium ($215) and general ($95) so roughly an average ticket price of $150. They have 1200 tickets that cost them $150 bucks each, (total cost of $180k) but they turn around and sell the tickets for $750 each, (on average) with a total gross of $900k. I have no doubt they will sell out their quantity because there are too many folks willing to pay what it takes to get in. Thats how you make a mill off of some deadheads Myself... I've made a promise. If I don't get the mail orders or pre-sale... It wasn't meant to be. I'll just wait for the tape uploads and sit back on my back porch with some cold brews. I've already paid what I feel is my max to see this show. Hope we all get the tickets we need. Its going to be one hell of a celebration!!

Does anyone actually see anything about a presale on the axs website. I couldn't find any link where you would click to enter a waiting room. Only mention on there is 2/14 on sale date. No presale info at all (on the axs.com website). There is also mention of secret dead.net emails about a presale. So much to sift through with the bs detector

Just got my room booked for July 2nd - 6th in a little studio apartment right on the L train line. About a 30 min ride into downtown. Think they only have a couple of rooms left and I got 4 nights for around 500 bucks. Free cancelation so might as well book now and cancel if you can't get tickets. https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/16572925 Take a look at the listings on the left side. They are small studios that will sleep 2 or 3 folks. Let me tell you, I've been searching for over a week and you won't find a better location or price. Also, they just gave me a promo code that will give us both $25 bucks off our rental. "bbridges32" I'd say if you're thinking about it... Hurry up and do it! You won't find anything within a 10 mile radius for $125/night. Just passing the info along and hope it helps someone :)

I emailed axs and got the generic fax. There is so much that is confusing. No one seems to want to post any info on a presale.

Looks like us deadheads beat the internet :) Via FB...Grateful Dead Reunion 2015 Wow! We’re excited (and humbled) to discover that your excitement for Fare Thee Well matches our own! We received an overwhelming number of mail order ticket requests. In an effort to honor the history and spirit of the Grateful Dead, we are going to try to fill as many of these orders as possible. This means there will be no other pre sales. In order to give the good folks at GDTS TOO time to sort through the large pile of envelopes they have received, the new public on sale is Feb 28th @ 10 a.m. CST via Ticketmaster. Public on sale is Feb 28th @ 10 a.m. CST via Ticketmaster.

Wow is right!! So it's been told they have received over 60,000 envelopes!! So for 61,500 seating obviously a bunch of folks will not be getting tickets from all available options!! If that's the case why bogart the online pre-sale tickets that you stated would be done?! I didn't see any stipulation you would cancel this part from overwhelming demand and since you're obligated to still do Ticketdisaster I'm really not happy you decided to cut out loyal fans from the online pre-sale process?! Why not still keep it as planned for us who couldn't do mail order yet you offered to still offer us a window which you now have abruptly closed! Folks now have no choice but to deal with Ticketmaster and scalpers, both bad choices!! So my fate, along with a bunch of other loyal heads, are now sealed and I'm really not happy about it! Sadly, it looks like I will not be going! But I'm grateful for all the real good years that taught me many a life lesson! DoDa Man

Thanks for the update on the mail order deluge. Am I totally naive, or is there any chance that GDTS TOO has the ability/inclination to try to weed out orders from those who are trying to "game the system" and reap a fat profit reselling tickets? Yeah, probably naive, but one can always hope . . .

In my experience, those folks are pretty darn conscientious. Good luck to them in dealing fairly and gracefully with the deluge!

Hello All, As someone that never trusted the postoffice enough to do mail order, I was the guy that was always willing to show up and stand on line to buy tickets for the small group of friends I went to shows with. In keeping with that tradition, I looked at these shows the same way, unwilling to trust the postoffice with a pile of money, though I was and still am willing to stand on line, virtual or otherwise, to get tickets to these shows. With that said, I have to say I am in a state of shock to find out today that the "ticket purchasing rules" have been changed mid-dance. Given that the number of reported envelopes received is about the same as available seats and that many, if not all, of those envelopes will want more than one ticket per show, this is telling me that there will not be enough seats for the mail orders and that there will be no tickets remaining for any presale or public sale, with AXS or Ticketmaster. Granted, the powers that be can do anything they want to, but it really isn't right to exclude those of us that always stood on line to buy tickets, we paid for those tickets too. I won't buy from scalpers (and if I had an extra ticket because one of my friends couldn't make the show, I always gave it away for a smile), so it looks like these shows might be over for me before they even start. I sure hope no one waiting to get tickets via AXS or Ticketmaster has paid for any non-refundable airline tickets or hotels, which I was very close to doing myself. It's a sad day here in Los Angeles and I can only hope this news is just a bad dream. To everyone that does get tickets, enjoy the shows! Tom Carr Los Angeles, CA

My guess would be that GDTS TOO received a certain allotment of tickets as did AXS and Ticketmaster. AXS appears to have been acting as an online arm of GDTS TOO, so because of the high mail order demand, they pulled the plug and will fulfill as many mail orders as possible. My hope is that somehow they are able to discern ticket brokers from regular folks. I bet at least 1/3 of these came from brokers. Ticketmaster still has its allotment of tickets to sell. No way any band can get booked at Soldier Field for a three night run and bypass Ticketmaster. So, if you didn't do mail order, you still have a shot at tickets. Just as many of us who did mail order will not get tickets, so too will many others who waited for online sales be shut out. Same as it has always been. I hope to get tickets somehow, but if not I was meant to have a splendid holiday weekend with the family.

Man, I have not felt like this since I was a kid in the early sixties, when I would mail off my 5 Frosted Flakes cereal box tops for that toy I just couldn’t do without, and would wait, wait, wait, with unbearable anxiety, every day, for that package to come in from Battle Creek, MI.

Estimated-eyes, I think you hit the nail on the head. I hope you're wrong about the brokers percentage-wise. That's precisely the reason why there is a GDTS or GDTS Too now, to make it a little bit of a process to do and, to have to commit money up front.(but if you like Black licorice).. Hopefully the brokers will find it easier to scalp Taylor-Swift. It's much better to do it this way and try to level the playing field. I can't compete with someone who has 20 buddies or employees with multiple logins, syphoning off sections at a time. with only 3 nationwide shows this was always a lottery at best. Even we who Mail Ordered should plan on Having our own July 5th celebration...But I hope to see you in Chicago. 0 0

I think everyone should take a breath and thank the fine folks at GDTS TOO. They have a huge task ahead which they might not have anticipated and I know they will be working hard to hand out as many miracles as possible. Although I have a pit in my stomach about not getting my tickets, I will go to Chicago regardless because I miss the community! My last show was there. I really hope that my last last show is there as well. So good luck to the staffers. You got this! Crank up some tunage and keep sorting!

Hello All, If the allotment of tickets available for mail order is indeed being changed after the fact, that too is simply not right. Had the process been disclosed, up front, as 100 percent mail order, we all would have done mail order and there would have been a level playing field. But, to change allotments and/or the presale and general sale after the fact, just because more mail orders arrived than anticipated, should not reduce non-mail order purchasers chances. Perhaps this should have been 100 percent mail order with every person having to send in their own individual order, with a one ticket per show limit, with the buyer's name printed on the tickets, and requiring ID that matches the name on the ticket for entry at Soldier Field. That would have also made scalping a lot tougher. If it is the case that "mail order will get allotted more tickets if demand is high", and that had been disclosed up front, I probably would have done mail order. But, it is simply not right to change any allotments after the process started. I vote to return everyone's mail order, unfulfilled, and start over with 100 percent mail order. Let's make this a fair process, rather than giving an unfair, after the fact advantage to mail orders. Just my 2 cents for the 2 tickets per show I would like to buy, for me and my wife. Well, at least gas will be cheap for travel! Whether or not I'll end up with a golden ticket? I echo other thoughts I've read. My mail order has been sent and however it might return, so be it. On the sofa with a strong aud recording and a few beers will make for wonderful summer evening reminisce. Regarding Chicago as the chosen local, I happened to be at the last show in '95. And if I was in the band, Soldier Field is exactly where I would also want to return for this final performance. After all, Jerry should be there as well. Peace everyone and find joy in however it might play out~

I can understand your frustration. but... the only way at this point for the band to get as many fans with tickets, and away from scalpers was to provide as many mail order tickets as possible. TM is going to be scalpermaster>stub hub. Not sure exactly what the axs presale was going to get us. It would have been the same scalpers as TM, just 2 days early. The presale was bs IMHO. Unless they did a true fan pre-sale of some sort, I think your best bet (if shut out of TM) is to hope someone gets extra by mail order and takes care of a real fan like you and your wife. I will keep my ears out, and hope it works out in the end for you. Sounds like your due.

So I just found out that the presale has been cancelled. Super bummed out about this! Just figured that there would be 3 equal ways to get tickets in the upcoming weeks. I have mail ordered plenty of times before, know exactly how to do it & have had success many times. But I have also gone the online route with equal if not better success. So I figured I would bypass the mailorder & try my luck with the online tickets again, at the same time giving myself enough time to get all of my ducks in a row. Well looks like I made the wrong decision, and will have to try my luck with Ticketmaster or pray for an online stream. This would have all been nice to know before the fact, I would have mailordered for sure. I feel like this is not a very fair move from the Dead organization. With that being said, I wish all of you who did mailorder the best of luck. Those who get tickets will have an epic weekend in Chicago. Enjoy!!!

We did the mailorder again but only for the 4th & 5th with the hopes of getting a nosebleed cheap seat for the 3rd to save some cash, at least I won't have to use a personal day, NSA abduction, or "burning kitten orphanage rescue" story to be part of a presale now

Many of us and our friends will not be able to attend the shows due to a variety of reasons. (likely not for lack of trying) My friends and I had never made it to a New Years show but enjoyed the pay per view show together before You Tube existed. I would like to think they will live web stream the shows(professionally) for us that don't make it. I suspect many of us really need to be a part of these shows to help complete our lives. I left that Sunday night 20 years ago and never thought it would be my/the last show. Until this was announced I did not realize how important it was to me to get together with my friends and to say goodbye. If it helps any the figure of 61,500 seats is for football seating and does not include the field. I am guessing there is another 6000+ seats on the field. I think EVERYONE should have a chance to be a part of these shows and to say Fare Thee Well.

I never want to sound jaded about the old days. God bless all who make that journey to Chicago in July. Could be the party of the year. Now in my 60s I need to be ready for the future and take care of business at home. In the early 70s I was the child of innocence amazed at the wonder of this cutting edge band. So elder dead-heads help those who may be young, innocent and searching for the meaning of life, perhaps in the form of this timeless music. Protect them and set the positive example of kindness and refuge from a real mean world. "If there's a poor boy on the street, let him have my seat". "That path is for.. your steps alone". ""Ooo baby baby it's a wild world and it's hard to get by with just a smile girl". I have deep memories of the last lyric while on my way to Table Mountain on the night of July 3, 1972 Colorado. All those who wander are not lost.

I called the only outlet in my town to get tickets through ticketmasta' , i called them about waiting in line amd where peoplw normally wait. Theu said they open doors at 10am, amd i was like i get that. The whole concepts of camping out and waiting for tickets the good ole way, was complete foreign to them. They said they allow no camping and would let people on the property in am..So i said 12:01 am, she well ok but you cant go to sleep?? Well the is very unsettling, it doesnt sound like i will be able to get in line early enougg to get tickets. I believe if your not one of first ten people in line theres no way. I read on internet and ticketmaster is known for selling outconcerts within in minutes. I must say i havent been so excited since 95', at that time i had being seeing dead for about 10yrs and thought when i got shut out of shows , it was no biggy there be more, but a few days later my mind was blown. Shortly after i saw "the dead" which is basically what we are talkibg about. I guess being 50 yrs and last time is big difference. I live in il. And we be up there, i plan on leaving my problems behind and seeing my fellow brothers and sisters.. I need to go after all the hype, but ticketmaster will sellout within 10min or less.. I swallowed my pride and will plop down money to get in if mail order doesnt work. Sound like only a frenzy the good ole GD could cause, nice to be reconnected, after having kids and holding on for dear life. I know longer see shows or too many concerts, probably a hand full after 95' im knew to this sight, new to mail order, but not new to the happiness and beauty the parking lot and watching the boys have fun smiling and put it down for all of us. Im going to leave kids at home for this one and hope to see you all there, especially friemds from cali!

40 years ago my sister had me convinced that Jerry was singing Anne Marini(her name), instead of Anne Marie and been hooked ever since. I'll shed a tear if i'm lucky enough through mail order or listening remotely, whatever. Jerry lives in the heart. It's a space in mind, good luck y'all.

Indeed, huge shout out to those folks at GDTS TOO. They have a crazy couple of weeks ahead of them sorting through so many orders the old school way. I appreciate their efforts. Someone said it right-- with only three shows, this was always a lottery ticket. Let's hope lots of Dead Heads get their hands on these tickets.

Just my two cents, even though it is contrary to many of the postings that are here - I really hope that GDTS TOO, to maximize distribution amongst us, begins with distribution of single day tickets, even to those requesting multiple days. Many, many, many of us - due to finances, family, jobs - can only afford to ask for one day, and humbly did so. I think that GDTS TOO should distribute as many tix as possible to those who have requested, one day at a time per customer/envelope, then after that if additional remain, address those who asked for an additional one or two nights. I would really hate to think that thousands of us who requested one night loose out while thousands who requested 2 & 3 nights made it, somewhat at our expense. This is not like the 'good old days' where if you missed, you missed, and would catch them again later - this is a one time event. Again, just my input from my perspective; it's just that SO many folks here and on all the other boards are talking about having requested all three nights! I mean - one guy goes all three nights, or three of us goes three different nights.....?

Hi Jim, My guess is that they will take all the envelopes postmarked Jan 20th first, and that have all been filled out correctly and handle those first regardless of how many tickets and for how many nights they are requesting (it's supposed to have been only up to 4 per night per envelope.) As they get to each envelope, they would see if they can fill the specific request in the envelope - which, in some cases will probably filled for some nights requested but not for others. I can't see them prioritizing requests for less tickets over requests for more. I think it is much more likely that requests for less tickets will come up randomly along with requests for more tickets with each envelope given the same "lottery" type chances to be gotten to before others.
