.cda and wav are the same, I think.
*.cda was the original CD file suffix from back in the day. *.wav are equivalent. MP3 is way more lossy, but smaller files. There may be a little file header difference between .cda and .wav but the encoding is the same - I think the difference comes up in the disc format structure, whether its a data disc or an audio disc. Perro had both the DVD with the flac files and CDs with already decoded wav files of the DVD files. Maybe the player is looking at those .wav files as .cda files since the discs were created as audio CDs and not just data CDs with wav files on them. To summarize: *.wav files on an audio CD = *.cda files Perhaps one of the real gurus can school us, though. Bring it up in the tech discussions forum. ************************************** *The white zone is for loading and unloading only* **************************************

One question I have ............... Typically, I convert my flacs to wav and then burn disks so I can play them in any player. This vine includes individual cd's in .cda format as well as a data DVD with all the flacs. My plan is to convert flacs like usual. My question is this. What is the .cda format? Is that comparable to MP3? Is it lossless? Is it compatable in most players? Ok, Ok, I realize that is more than one question but I would really appreciate any answers you can provide. Peace - David

Thank you lopezz for the relaese of this historical document. They are all here, jerry, phil, mickey, billy, crosby, nash, kantner, slick, freiberg, cassady, kaukonen, papa john, cippollina, hopkins. These are the minds that expanded ours. We all owe them for who we are now and how the planet has evolved. These recordings are them thinking, with their voices and instruments, pushing the status quo. And Stephen Barncard, who saw this and rose to the era. Umatched to this day. The best recording of acoustic..aka wooden...music the world has ever known, hands down. Look into Stephens work on the reissue, and read his story and his methods, the works of a master. The Classic Records 200 gram lp pressing of this is a masterwork, right down to the paper used for the artwork and the sound is breathtaking. If I Could Only Remember My Name....the classic recording of the San Francisco scene, as the Airplane, the Dead, Quicksilver, Crosby Nash, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young all sat together and played with and off one another, and expanded themselves and the universe. peace,pk

When burning the audio cd's I forgot to include the very first song. I had it seperate from the others with some Neil Young concerts. It's just a minute or two song with David talking. I didnt want to leave it out because it's an early version of the Mountian song that we hear him play later.(the start of Mountian #4) I have PM Pk and Mark and sent out replacement audio disc for the Perro Tapes. (and flac files) Sorry if this delays the vine. Lopezz

but it might take a little bit. I dont keep my vines together. The Dorks are on a different drive than the perro tapes. And I will have to look for the other stuff. It's buried in folders within folders. I'm not very organized. 1500 gigs, two computers in seperate rooms. I'm a mess.
