I am sticking with my original last song call of Ripple with Robert Hunter on guitar and vocals. End on a high note-- I can see the smiles of 70k people in attendance already.
OK, thanks for posting that Phil and Friends video. I like this year-by-year show thing he is doing. Listening to the Dark Star from 1969 show now and this captures it better than anything I have ever heard. It makes me appreciate how much the gear can change the sound. They are using gear from each era to best capture the original sound and they have achieved wonders here. Beautiful stuff.
6-21-1980
Last thing will be Phils donor rap! I imagine something like this 6-21-80 show on sunday. Minus the OMSN of course and some other tweaks. And yes of course its all good, but guessing is fun as heck!Revisiting 6-21-1980 today. Come and join me. Twinkle twinkle little keyboard player, how I wonder where you are. Peace, health, safety, fulfillment to each and all out there, be good, be well. Love love love!
Closer....
How about a Round and Round>Gdtrfb...With Donna and Bobby going back and forth Reminiscent of the late 70s......I know just a dream of mine.....Peace Ya'll
Hunter Ripple
Wow....yes please. Ripple with Hunter would be ridiculously awesome, poignant. Goose bumps.
never trust a prankster
The last song will be "Money, Money""We want money, what we want, we want your money, what we want, we want all your money, what we want....."
or "Ship of Fools"
"I won't slave for beggars wage, but I like me some gold and jewels.....
I agree to disagree, and in the middle of all of this silliness, I agree to be silly also.
Too bad some can't see the forest for the trees.
The pranks on you
yes, remember...never trust a prankster
and Jerry said, "the GD came out of the Acid Tests" or something to that effect.
maybe they'll go out like the Acid Tests. Three great (grate) big Acid Tests.
"Storekeeper, doses for everyone!"
The Great Uber-Prank.
Meanwhile, it's February 10, 2015. Onward, Deadhead soldiers, marching at a show.
free concert at golden gate park like the old days!
and maybe one at central park N.Y. then you got everybody taken care of!Chicago could pay for them!
Out of curiousity, has anyone
Out of curiousity, has anyone received confirmation that their money order was cashed / processed? While I continue to check on the USPS site each day, I am guessing that they will not be cashed until after February 28th....
Mail order
The lucky ones will be notified via email in early march with tickets to arrive sporadically over the course of the following months in order to go undetected to swindlers looking to score your seats from your mailboxes.
Nothing this mail order is the same except for GDTS
Early March
I hope the notifications come before early March so that I know if I am hitting the refresh button on Ticketmaster on 2/28! lol
GD on Saturday Night Live from 11/11/1978
Just an FYI...
VH1 Classics is showing the Saturday Night Live from 11/11/1978, with the Grateful Dead, on Thursday 02/12/2015 at 10PM (at least it is at 10PM on my DirecTV guide in Los Angeles, DirecTV channel 337).
Enjoy.
Mail order
So it is possible to have the VIP and Ticketmaster sale come and go before I know if I was lucky enough to get any Mail Order tickets? I honestly think I am more confused after reading some of these posts than I was before I read them
First day, first song...
How bout a cover of CSN&Y's 'Chicago' to open... ;p'We can change the world, rearrange he world...'

Estimated eyes
Yes, "Ripple" with Hunter, but throw in Jerry's old Buddy David Grisman.
Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad.....
As much as I prepared myself for the rejection letter, it hurt even more just seeing it sitting there in my mailbox. I wonder who the hell is actually getting tickets? Going to Chi Town anyway...will be a blast!!!
GD on Saturday Night Live
@TCarrThanks for the tip. East coast time is 1 AM Friday morning. I have not seen this clip since original air date.
Always nice to see the boys on commercial TV.
Still waiting and chilling in NYC........
The Dream Continues.......
can you imagine the ticketless hordes in Chicago?
It's gonna be epic.
141 days until Chicago explodes.
6/11/76 awaits for the drive home.
Love to y'all.
nice avatar, esvbbv dude.
With love and a dream - it WILL come true!
Mailbox empty today. The suspense is too much.
"So let's get on with the show
Let's go"
first day, first song
No way, CSNY's 'Chicago.' I don't think there will be many covers that weren't staples from GD tour. If I was going to throw out an unconventional cover for the opner, I'd go with "Hello Old Friend" by Clapton.
If I had to bet on an opener... Jack Straw would be smart money with Touch of Grey not being a bad choice.
another thing that comes to mind

(dude hears GD music)
I want to buy some tickets
certainly sir
Bring forth a Friday ticket, my good man.
Fresh out.
Saturday midfield?
no.
Sunday Golden Circle?
no.
lower stands?
no, we don't get much demand for that.
any rear of stadium, last row, partial stage obstruction?
nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno.
Do you, in fact, have any tickets to sell?
No.
first day first song
I'm going with obvious...and get the crowd moving early...the music never stopped. might be more fitting as a closer to first set but I would open with it.encore first night: heavens door. so many good options I don't really care as long as I get tix to go!
NFA as last song last set with bid you good night as encore.
GDTSTOO Unfreakingbelievable
i cannot freaking believe this. i jump through hoops, 2 stamps, 2 number 10 envelopes, each night hand written on the envelope, who does this, but just as i have since the 80's, this time who can find freaking 3 x 5 cards anymore, name in upper left hand corner, is that the very top left corner or just kinda on the top left, six (6) freaking separate mail orders in case one night is sold out, hand canceled on the first day eligible, for all three shows in chicago and oh, sorry, overwhelming response, here's your money orders back. oh really, what did you have only 500 tickets per show, a thousand? unfreakingbelievable, i am so disappointed in you GDTSTOO
Another day, another idon'tknow sammich
I know a kid that cries every time he wins or loses a baseball game... Because he hates that the game is over at all.
Countdown is on...
this is so weir-d. waiting every day, hoping the mail box is empty. It's crunch time now. 13 days of possible mail until probable score...
Not a big fan of Pink
Check your money orders
Looks like they may be starting to cash 'em! Let's hear verdicts and locations from people! My mailbox has been empty, but my MOs are still outstanding...(Connecticut)

Where have you heard mail orders are cashed?
I am yet to see anybody claiming mail orders cashed yet...
But I am super excited to start hearing about it...
?????
Guy on Dead Facebook page has
Guy on Dead Facebook page has a screen shot of GDTSTOO telling him they were starting. His Western Union had been cashed! Lucky duck.
That is Thrilling...
Real Mail orders being cashed...
Let's hear more good news...
Branford?
Any chance Branford Marsalis will make an appearance at Fare Thee Well? In my opinion, he was the best guest they ever had sit in with them. I love the man's playing and think his style meshed oh so well with the band's music. Having Branford show up for a night would be amazing IMHO.

Nassau '90
I was there. Pouring rain that day, but what a night inside! Branford was amazing, and it was my first live Dark Star.
Red Rocks Furthur 13
Branford came out. Not quite like 90 Nassua (those recording are some of the best I've heard), but it was quite the treat.
I can see him coming out for an Eyes, or Bird Song.
Where's this supposed "Guy on
Where's this supposed "Guy on Dead Facebook page has a screen shot of GDTSTOO telling him they were starting. His Western Union had been cashed! Lucky duck."
I want proof
Rejection
I received my rejection two days ago in CA. How can you get mad at or blame GDTSTOO for that? You can't. If they get 60,000 envelopes they can't possibly have time to play favorites and sort through who they want to receive tickets and who they would like to reject. I am positive it is purely random...and the odds weren't with me.
Seems credible
I saw it.
Man, that really bring some hope here.
I like it.
Thanks
RE:Rejection
you are so right. It's completly random. I don't think art work matters either. Some will hit the lottery and some will not.
If I Had The World To Give....
but all I need is a miracle!!! Hoping to score some kind space in chicago and I believe a revival of "If I Had The World To Give" would be a grate final encore....or Ripple
I've got a golden (road) ticket!

Rejection letter
Getting that letter was like a kick in the balls. I know GDTSTOO got swamped, etc. but been ordering almost exclusively through them for virtually every Dead related show in the past 25-30 years...was hoping that might count for something...maybe a database of frequent customers? Between die-hard GD fans, Phish fans, and newbies/curiosity seekers who've never been to a Dead show, the odds were against most of us.
Gen pub is going to sell out in 5 minutes.
Scalpers are already dancin' in the streets.
Soldier Field Camping in the lot Petition
I am surprised this petition is not flying around the Dead community. But here it is:
https://www.change.org/p/soldier-field-parking-standard-parking-please-…
You can sign it and maybe it will lead to the City of Chicago allowing Deadheads to camp in parking lots over the 4th of July weekend.
looking for tickets for 2021 SPAC, 2 Mansfield shows, and Hartford
