    Complainers
Not to make anything negative but I keep reading posts on various forums from those who keep trashing these shows due to... - Cost of Tickets - Location - Not enough shows - Band making too much money, (not in the spirt of GD) - Leaving too many "true" deadheads out - Unorganized ticketing process Lets run it down in order. First, cost of the tickets... I keep reading complaints that the cost of these shows exclude the poor from attending. "Only the rich and trustafarians can afford to go!" I tell ya, I'm not rich by any means but I started saving up a GD concert fund last year the moment I heard some rumors that they might tour in 2015. I ate out less, stayed in most weekends and cut back on my normal spending. Hey, I was not going to miss out on shows due to a lack of funds. Just like with anything in life, you have to prioritize. Many folks save up all year long to go on vacations... No different here. I just saved up for what I thought would be a couple of road trips but it turns out there is only Chicago. Speaking of Chicago... What is the problem here? If the band only wants to play one location then Chicago is a good of choice as any. It would have been awesome in SF, NY or Red Rocks but I understand why they wanted a centralized spot. Plus, I don't fully believe that these will be the very last shows. Chicago has the stadium, history and ability to handle such a crowd over a holiday weekend. Not enough shows... Well, I would have loved to see a full summer tour but hey, it isn't going to happen! I don't get why some folks are upset about this. They don't owe anything to anyone. They are coming together for a weekend and who knows, maybe some other shows will pop up. Glass half full perspective is that THEY'RE PLAYING AGIAN! Be it 3 shows or 10 shows... One annoying complaint is that the band is making so much money off this. Yes, they are! They deserve every penny they can get. They created it and carried it for 50 years. In fact, they probably deserve even more money than they're getting. This isn't 1967 and free concerts of this proportion are not free, nor should they be. It is entertainment... The Grateful Dead have given us all of their shows for free, via tapes. They don't owe anyone a free live performance. Its the same argument for folks who complain about athletes earning too much money. Well, if the athlete isn't getting paid, who is? The damn owner of the team. One could argue that the real problem are the fans who pay the money... Well, I won't get into that debate because its fantasy land. Point is, folks will pay to see their favorite team or their favorite band. If ANYONE is getting paid, it should be the band! For those who are feeling left out due to this process, I feel you man! I can see how having multiple shows will help more folks see the band but... that doesn't seem to be happening. When I first heard about these shows, I made a decision that I was going to try my very best. Followed MO instructions exactly, used saved cash from my vacation/money savings fund, requested two $215 tixs for all 3 shows and now I'm waiting to see if my true love tickets will fly back to me. There is nothing more we can do. Complaining about it is pointless, knowing that if I get the pink slip, I'm still going to find a way in, (minus going through scalpers.) Trust that it will work out and if it doesn't, then oh well. We've all dealt with disappointment before and we will survive with our without tickets. Yes, this ticket process is pretty interesting. I completely understand why they went the mail order route but I suspect that the huge number of requests even surprised GTST TOO. A bit more clarity about their process would be nice and updates are encouraged BUT I also appreciate the mystery and excitement this has caused. Not sure if it was done on purpose but it seems to be the result. We live in a new time and folks want access to information now, myself included. I must say, in a funny way, this process has been refreshing and although I was pretty darn excited, the waiting has really peaked my enthusiasm. In addition, it has brought a bunch of deadheads out of the woodworks and into the online "community." It is absolutely inefficient and its a huge bummer that many folks will not win the lottery but one thing I know about deadheads, we will all find a way in, one way or another! Peace and love to all. Lets see how this all plays out and I hope to be one of the lucky ones but if not... I've had fun with the process.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Concert-Tickets-/173634/i.html?_dcat=173634&_rn… Check out the ebay site above. Tickets have been sold already on the open market: $600 to $750 per ticket. This is just crazy. Set of 4 sold for $3,100. This is totally wrong. I understand the supply and demand system of the economy, but this is wrong on all levels. Told the wife already, if we score tickets and have extras; we will only sell on this site to people that I have read their posts. This is going to be one ugly scene with the buying and selling of tickets in Chicago. Still waiting and chilling in NYC. No mail is still good mail. Peace out............

No Money orders cashed, no email, no rejection letter. And tickets on sale tomorrow and Saturday! Gonna cost some bucks, but I'm tired of waiting and hoping. "put your money where your love is, baby"!

I agree with esvbbv. This is disgusting. The Bears presage was a bunch of BS. Why sell tickets to those who only plan to resell for an obscene profit? GDTS needs to post a new status. Are they done notifying people? If I have extras they are going for the price I paid.

Just a little nervous from the fall...Unfortunately I didn't get my Birthday miracle yesterday...still no news at all BUT HAPPY BDAY TO YOU!!!CHOUSE 13 And thanks for the BDay wishes folks It is nearly impossible to drum up hope and fight off depression at this point, although I was encouraged to see people still getting emails this afternoon!! Please keep posting your victories, defeats, cities, time of notification, etc. Last night I dreamt, not about letters or tickets per se, but email! Dreamt I thought I saw it in my inbox and freaked out but then realized it wasn't from GDTSTOO.I appreciate all the hard work they are doing. I don't think I can manage the funds for the CID stuff tomorrow :0 P.S. I have been trying really hard to not respond directly to any of the negative stuff being posted, but I just can't help this one...Somebody called Unkle Sam Kanye West a while back and that was hilarious, BUT, I happen to love the term Ass Clown , however when he used it, it invoked that image of somebody pointing a finger, with three pointing back at them.

if you do not get tickets for this event Do not buy or bid on any tickets from scalpers or E bay right ...it is the only way they will have to lower the price.. no one has made bids so far, hope that stays the same when they are sold out

My first Grateful Dead show was at Chicago's Soldier Feild in 1993. A big bolt of lightning hit down right on the edge of the Stadium just as a foggy orange green haze of fog rolled in off the lake . What a show, I have been in love with every aspect of this band ever since that day. I sent in money orders in each way as directed in one envelope post marked on the 20th just like many of the rest of you ive been playing mailbox blackjack and checking my email more than i ever remember. Nothing just a blank. Guess i will put that old finger in the wind . Waiting on a Miracle. PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL. goodluck to you all. Darkstarr1971

@newuser123 People are already buying tickets on ebay. So far I saw 6 sales between $650 and $3100. Bummer...... People will buy. Many of the Deadheads going to Chicago have lots of disposable income. Nothing wrong with that. Wish'em well, but the regular guy will be priced out. Only true deadheads on this site who will do the right thing and sell to deadheads at face and reasonable price points does the regular guy have a chance. many miracles for the community.......

Feel horrible. No information, can't get off work for tickets. This isn't fun anymore. Have a hotel at intercontinental, paid in full. Suppose to be taking my 16 y/o daughter on her 16th birthday to her first show. My first show, I was 16. Now my last show I want to share with my daughter. So bummed. It is my son's 12th birthday and he drew a pretty nice skeleton in a top suit with the American flag in the background. Ugh.
