    ?
I wonder if the idea of broadcasting the shows to a pay per view audience is being considered and shot down because of the DVR factor. I know they never minded us taping live at the shows but I get a funny feeling they are worried in the long run of making all these shows into a video package someday. Hence , we using DVR wouldn't but the videos further down the road.

Trade Great SC tix for Good Chicago tix
I was very lucky to get 4 great seats to Sunday's Santa Clara show (Sec 101, Row 18, $199.50/ea)but would very much prefer to go to any Chicago show. I'm not looking to sell tix. If I can't find trade, I will be going to SC show. Trade doesn't have to be exactly equal but Chicago seats have to be decent.e-mail anpmull@verizon.net

    ruminations
The simulcast in theaters idea is a very bad one. I hope there are some logistical issues with this decision. Perhaps limited bandwidth would make it difficult to seamlessly stream the shows into hundreds of thousands of households at the same time. Just tossing it out there, I have no idea-- but 5 hours in a theater isn't going to cut it for most. Everyone has a right to their opinions, but the severe negativity is difficult to take. What would the opinions of our naysayers be if they had gotten tickets? Still calling the shows a "cash-grab, no potential fun scene that will feature poorly played music by aging hippies." (paraphrasing from many here) Were Bill, Mickey, Bob and Phil supposed to hand select those who would receive tickets and somehow magically limit demand to the available number of tickets? Of course scalpers were going to get some tickets-- always have for any and every show and game in the country. The original Chicago mail-order was an ill-conceived idea in this era of information. But the rest of the decisions-- don't know what else they could have done. To play in any venue, they were going to have to work with Ticketmaster and the venue's ticket policies. Is it great that scalpers have tickets and non-DeadHead Bears and 49ers fans have tickets they are selling? Nope, but last I checked we were not in Utopia. Re: the music, if you have been paying attention for the last 20 years, the boys have all put together decent bands over the years and found the old magic at times. The first Furthur show I saw at the Chicago Auditorium Theater in 2010 and the Ratdog show at the Chicago Theater in 2014 were better than the Grateful Dead I saw 1994 and 1995-- by a bunch. The boys still bring it with their bands and I expect them to find the groove when they get together in SC and Chicago. I had my doubts about Trey, but it sounds like he is taking these shows very seriously. Should be a fun time. Not getting into the debate about Chicago vs. Santa Clara scenes. Needless to say, there will be lots of Deadheads in both places. I am curious about how the scene will be-- the world has changed so much since the last time these guys played in stadiums. In this context, I mean security, technology, and society. Should be interesting. Small Shakedown Streets have been at all Dead-related shows I have attended since 1995, but this will be on a different scale. This Deadhead is looking forward to 3 super-fun nights in Chicago! One last time to get the big tribe together and salute our favorite band.

Thanks man! Prayers and good luck to you as well. If I make it, I will look for the '80 Chevette. If I get tix I will PM you for the color of your vehicle. For those who have not been notified yet, there's still time. It's not Feb 28 @ 10AM CST. I'm sure the kind folks at GDTS TOO will be working hard all night to get out those notifications. Be kind and don't bash them, they are slaving away for all of us...

We are trying to let as many folks as possible know their status before the onsale date. Emails will go out to the winners starting in the next two days. Your chances of receiving tickets from us are 1 in 10, so if you have not received a winner’s email from us by the on-sale date, you may want to consider on line ticket sales to increase your chances. congratulations to winners!!! still in limbo and hoping

Yes, the site was updated 2 days ago with something that basically did not say too much, other that if you don't have a confirmation, then please try via on-line ticketing. Which I guess is fine if you have the extra cash. I don't think it is "picking" on people to try to make suggestions that might help many understand where things are at TODAY, right before the on-line tickets go on sale.

As someone that did not do mail order (never did in the past either), watched the AXS presale go away (to provide more tickets for mail orders?), and got shut out at the CID package sale today, I hope that everyone gets that miracle at Ticketmaster tomorrow. With that said... Please don't buy extra tickets tomorrow. Buy tickets to match the number of butts you actually have to put in the seats, but not extras. We all know there is a very limited ticket pool and for every extra ticket purchased, one less Deadhead gets a ticket. As I've heard others here say already, I will not be going to Chicago without a ticket in hand (I'm in los Angeles) and I will not pay scalpers for a ticket either (Stubhub included), so I am hoping for a miracle on Ticketmaster tomorrow. Please be kind and leave the extra tickets for your fellow Deadheads. Miracles for everyone! Tom Carr Ticketless in Los Angeles

I don't know if I'd call 410 emails "many", thats like 1600 tickets out 60,000+ seats !

I do not think there is a one to one correspondence between the # in the email title and the number of recipients of that particular email. It seems to me that multiple people have reported receiving the same # in the title of their email so these are probably small batches rather than one for one. Just a thought - keep your fingers crossed as there seem to be some emails going out today.

Seems to be 1:1 to me... If we are in the 400's now, if 1:10 will be honored as promised, they will likely go to around 660 of 66000 requests, some asked for 1 ticket for 1 show others 4 tix for all 3.... There is still hope

Hey now...I have a room...a nice one in the Trump Towers...(2 miles away from venue) that I would happily share with someone who could provide me with face value ticket/tickets of any kind... :-) No need to schlep in from the outer reaches or pay big dollars to stay near the field.

I've read the message over and I think emails will continue to go out after sales tomorrow. They said if we haven't heard before TM sales we may want to increase our chances of getting tickets by trying to purchase from TM. That leads me to believe they are trying to let us know tonight but they are overwhelmed. Thoughts?

According to the latest post on dead50com. You still have a small chance if you do not receive an email from us by the on-sale date, however, you may want to consider on line ticket sales to increase your chances. I take this as they are concentrating on getting out the winners. If you don't receive your e-mail by tomorrow your most likely SOL!

brock9281, that "mail order is over" message has been there since 1/21 or 1/22, it just means that you can no longer send an envelope. The only update they've done since a few days ago is "Happy Birthday crewmember Pete". Happy Birthday Pete!
