    Mix
Listened to KFOG replay and the mix had Trey so out front I couldn't hear the rest of the band. Could just be the radio replay, but I wanna hear Phil, Bobby and the rest of the band. Can't wait to see it at the movie theater on Friday (and maybe Saturday and Sunday)

Fare Thee Well Grateful Dead, Pt. 2
Watch 'em knock 'em dead in Chicago. I must've gone to at least 100 shows. The first one was in 1966 in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle, or the Furthur Fesival at San Francisco State College, whichever was first. I actually felt like Phil was addressing me personally when he made his speech at the end and thanked everyone for coming out, because I tried to get tickets to as many Phil Lesh and Friends at Terrapin Crossroads shows as I could. He came up to me there and let me say, "Hi," which rock stars don't have to do. However I couldn't afford to follow Bobby around like I used to, and he always lets me know, which is flattering that he invited me. He sang a song about losing money, which is true. He sang some other songs which might have been directed at me, and I instinctively responded by singing along. Then, at the beginning of the last song, "Fare Thee Well, My Honey", "Brokedown Palace", I thought he was like, he wanted me to sing along, so I did, and then he ended it abruptly, got in line with their arms on their shoulders, did their bow, and it was over, but I'm planning to see the live stream of all 3 Chicago shows at Terrapin Crossroads. When I went to UCI in 1987, my dad gave me $100,000/year, an apartment in grad student housing, a car, and a bunch of credit cards on his account. They tracked me into the Information and Computer Science major. Then he came down and took some of the credit cards back, and my sister took all 6 of my Irvine Meadows Grateful Dead tickets. Like William Burroughs wrote, "When did they ever give anything that they didn't take back if they could, and they always could!" and he went to Harvard. I went out and bought 6 more, at the inflated price of $50, for $300, and canceled the aftershow party at my apartmnent I'd posted on the Well. Because of losing the credit cards, I got a bad grade and had to go to CSUB. Laurie Senit moved in, and life was pretty good. We lived across from the campus in an apartment complex with 4 swimming pools and 4 jacuzzis, the 2nd best in town. My parents bought me a brand-new Toyota Tercel. Then my mom said, "We're going to send the two of you to Hawaii. Pick out a hotel from this brochure." I picked the Big Island because I'd been to Maui, and the Kona Hilton because the Dead liked Hiltons. In nearby Paradise Cove the scuba boat captain claimed he was on a first-name basis with Jerry. When Jerry died the Rolling Stone article said his house was in Kona, which I didn't know, and gave the name of his dive shop. I called information and the dive shop, they said it was across the street from the Kona Hilton, and Jerry probably did used to go scuba diving at Paradise Cove. They were showing videos of him scuba diving tonight. That's why I wanted to do it, but I had to do it straight, not being a rock star. I proposed to Laurie on the beach in Kona. We stopped at my parents' house in San Francisco on our way home. My dad, James Abrahamson, had 3 restaurants, Pam Pam East on Geary and Taylor, Rosebud's English Pub next door, and Biff's Coffee Shop on 28th and Broadway in Oakland, and he sold institutional furniture, commission contract sales, for Thonet and American Chair Co., and later Serta Mattress, in the Merchandise Mart on 10th and Market. My mother, Lucille Abrahamson, was elected to the San Francisco School Board twice, two years as President, worked in Mayor Dianne Feinstein's Office of Childcare, and was appointed S.F. Human Rights Commissioner by Mayor Frank Jordan, the former Police Chief. I told them we were engaged and my Dad said, "Don't marry her, I can't afford it. We sold the restaurants to Mama's, they went bankrupt, didn't pay, we went to court, the judge fined me $160,000, and they wanted me to declare bankruptcy." My little brother said later it was his half-partner, Bill Munro, the manager's fault. He abused the help, especially the head cook, who really ran the place, the union went on strike, won so many benefits they had to go out of business and sell it. Munro had cooked the books, the judge saw it, and hence the fine. My dad said it was because I had spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts, but I don't think that was correct, although I may have spent too much money. They wanted me to go to this psychiatrist in Bakersfield, Dr. Perelli-Minetti, who was a nice man. He said the Grateful Dead was OK. He was always telling me expensive restaurants to which to take Laurie, like where he took his wife, and encouraged me to spend lots of money on her, buy expensive dresses, jewelry, etc, so I thought it was OK. He gave me Risperdal when it first came out, in 1994. We didn't really go to that many Grateful Dead concerts. My dad didn't like the Grateful Dead and Bill Graham for other reasons. When I first got back from the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock, I tried to turn him on, he thought about it for a minute and decided no, he was afraid to get busted, he was too square to get on the bus. Later he said that Bill Graham had applied to join their Jewish men's club, the Concordia-Argonaut, on Van Ness and Geary, and that he was going to vote against him. Not only was he a hippie, and made his money that way, but he was an orphan, an immigrant, and a Holocaust survivor. What it really was is that Graham was more successful than him in the role of Jewish businessman. My brother moved to Mill Valley, said he saw Graham's house and was impressed. Graham made more money than all of them, and he started as a hippie, and that filled squares like my dad with jealousy, anger, envy, and rage. My dad said, "I wish the Grateful Dead were dead," in his outrageous way. When Bill Graham's helicopter crashed on the way home from the Concord Pavilion and they had his funeral in my dad's temple, Temple Emanu-el, my dad said, "I hope it didn't hurt the helicopter!" He even hated them during the Haight-Ashbury and helped the City Fathers drive them out of town. My family was spending a lot of money at first, and I thought they were encouraging me to emulate them. When he first gave me the $100,000/year, the credit cards on his account, and sent me to UCI, my dad was acting like he could afford for me to buy anything I saw that I wanted. Then he told not to buy anything over $200, and I complied. They were all spending lots of money. He had 2 new BMW"s and a new Mercedes-Benz. He and my mom went on a temple tour of Eastern Europe and stayed in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, she said it was a five-star hotel. My sister went to Yale after me, in Art, then got a Masters in Art Education at Stanford, an Ed.D. at Harvard, a J.D. at Cal, got a job in the White House as Assistant Chief-of-Staff to Vice-President H.W. Bush in the Ronald Reagan White House and then Founding Chairman of the Barbara Bush Campaign For Family Literacy (me at UCI) in the President H.W. Bush White House. There's a photo of her and Vice-President H.W. Bush having an audience with Pope John Paul in Sweden, and she is shaking hands with the Pope. That dress must have cost something, not to mention the travel. In her closet I saw hundreds of French gowns, and more shoes than Imelda Marcos. She met this guy from the Council of Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., a USC Professor of International Relations, Jonathan Aronson. He went to Harvard and Stanford in Political Science, and his father was a rich St. Louis banker. They bought a mansion in Bel-Air near the Reagans', put in an Italian marble bathtub, baby grand piano, swimming pool, his self-portrait in the living room, pirates' table, Persian rug, and he drove a Jaguar S3. He said, "We're going to Paris for 2 weeks," "I'm going to Thailand to speak," and they had their son's Bar Mitzvah in Bali, so they didn't hold back on the spending. They took the whole family, including me, to the Club Med in Ixtapa, but they went bankrupt because I spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts! My brother spent $2000 of my dad's money for a Rolex watch to keep up with the other Oshos and flew back and forth to India every few weeks for years. They flew me there, to Europe twice, and to Hawaii twice. I guess my dad was having problems, and he asked me to spend less money, but he didn't really communicate that I should spend less money because he was having financial problems. I was spending too much money on Laurie. So I ignored him. So he took away some credit cards, and I kept spending at the same level. I couldn't comprehend that commission contract sales is an up-and-down business. Then two new credit cards, each with a $5000 limit, came in the mail. I should have sent them back, but I couldn't resist the temptation. Soon I realized that I couldn't let my dad find out about them, because he would take them away, too. I set out to get revenge on him for taking away my credit cards by charging even *more* money. The first thing I did was take Laurie to the most expensive restaurant in Los Angeles, Spago's, $140 for salmon for two. Then the 2nd most expensive, Palms in West Hollywood. Then dresses, jewelry, and when we went to Hawaii we did the same thing with the recreation. Maybe *that's* what drove my dad into near-bankruptcy, not the Grateful Dead concerts. We really didn't go to that many. I just spent a lot of money on her. She just liked to go to movies, comedy clubs, country-western dance halls, miniature golf, roller skating, she was always thinking of something. They cut my allowance from $100,000/year to $40,000/year, my sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jonathan, became "trustees of your trust fund", keep the Blue Cross PPO. They took away all 12 of my credit cards and defaulted on them, leaving me in debt to the credit card companies for $15,000, with bad credit to this day, since 1993. They raised it up to $60,000 and I moved to New Mexico, near the Castagnas who used to live at the Hog Farm. Alberto asked me to call my mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law and ask each of them for $10,000 for a liver transplant for his Hepatitis C because his job as Director of Taos County Ambulances, working his way up from paramedic and EMT, didn't have good insurance. They said no. Maybe that's what set 'em off. They asked me to go to a psychiatrist, who dismissed me. Then Laurie wanted me to come back to Los Angeles and move in to her apartment. They wanted me to find another psychiatrist. I found psychedelic therapist Dr. Robert Newport online at the Island Group in Santa Cruz, referred by Bruce Eisner, but my sister fought with him and he lost his license for prescribing medications, including Risperdal, without seeing the patients. I called him and he said, "Did your sister let up on you yet? I'm not a psychiatrist any more, I'm a painter." So they took me to Dr. Lisa Fine, who also gave me Risperdal, which gave me diabetes. Laurie got it too, from Seroquel. They found the diabetes when a cardiolgist wanted to do an emergency heart surgery,an angiogram and an angioplasty. My brother drove my sister-in-law's Ford Escort to L.A. from Sedona. They said they were going to give it to me. He showed it to me and said, "This is your car." They said they were going to give it to me after the surgeries, but they changed their mind and never did. My car had totally broken down at a job interview in Irvine just a few days before my appointment with the cardiologist, who decided I was going to have emergency heart surgery. When I recovered I stopped by at some friends from the Cubensis shows and they talked me into starting going to shows again, to the Phil Lesh and Friends show and the Ratdog show at the Wiltern, and the Ratdog show at the House of Blues. I'd told Richie on the phone I'd stopped going to shows when Jerry died and he'd said, "I did too." They had a picture of them with the 4 original members in an airport on the way to a concert called The Dead. After that, this psychologist Eric Asa-Dorian from the Life Adjustment Team, probably a drug rehab, they said her mother called, shows up in our living room, posing as a Deadhead, except with more, better tickets than me. Then they got me to go to LAT and I never knew it was a drug rehab, it was disguised as marriage counseling or something. In the end they took the $60,000/year except for meds, medical bills, Anthem Blue Cross PPO, SSI, and put me in Brentwood Manor board-and-care home for two years, I think illegally, before I had learned how to treat the diabetes, so it had developed another complication besides the heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, or diabetic nerve pain, or "burning feet". When they moved me out of Laurie's apartment 12 years ago with the Comcast that was the last time they let me have cable, except for a brief period. No police, no arrest, no charges, no hearing, no trial, no sentence, no jail, no prison, no due process. No evidence or proof that *I* ever did anything wrong, as far as I'm concerned, frames and smears I've never heard, let alone allowed to answer. I said I'd sue all of them for $2 billion for attempted murder, elder financial abuse, false imprisonment, psychiatric torture, medical malpractice, emotional anguish, pain and suffering, and my attorney, Bruce Margolin, who'd been Timothy Leary's attorney (I went to a fundraiser they had at Timothy Leary's house in Beverly Hills when he was running for State Senator), said, "Where'd you get the $2 billion?" so $200 million is more in the range, I think. I had to get a job selling Sprint phones B2B to small businesses in the South, work my way out of there and get some financial aid from Cal State East Bay. I'd been a junior Computer Science major at Cal State Northridge when I was living with Laurie before the surgeries. And Tina Kimmel, a Cal Ph.D. in Social Work I met at the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock got my sister to give me a $68,000 annuity that my dad left me, so that was pretty good, so I got to go to Monterey and Camp Winnarainbow, and they're paying for a lot of things now. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I'm still a senior Computer Science major and pre-law. Afterwards Alberto died, I called Richie from the board-and-care, he called my sister, I called him back, and he had terminal liver cancer. Alberto flew out and carved his tombstone, and he picked out wood for Tinker to make his coffin, but my sister wouldn't give me $100 to visit him at Camp Winnarainbow before he died. Steve had died of hep C. Then Hunter Thompson committed suicide. When I was going to the LAT psychiatrist to whom they forced me to go, I emailed Cap'n Skypilot to post something I could show him on his office computer, and he wrote a story about a man whose parents he said were responsible for the death of Ken Kesey and the assassination of JFK. When I got up here Vince Welnick committed suicide. I ran into Lou Todd, then he got sick and died, and then Tinker, who I once saw drive the Furthur bus. Charlene said her landlady wouldn't rent her house anymore, she moved in with her daughter; her other daughter got accused of murder, and she didn't do it. Laurie's elementary schoolteacher friend's apartment caught on fire and they blamed her. My Deadhead lawyer friend said his SUV caught on fire. I can't figure out the reason for all this. I would be interested if anybody, especially with legal knowhow, had any helpful advice. I'm thinking of appealing to my Yale classmates, to see if any of them are big-time lawyers yet, and I don't think any Democratic politicians have seen it, since most of them don't have email addresses. They were telling people I was dying, but the doctors said my numbers were good, so you can't die from controlled diabetes, maybe it was just wish-fulfillment. And Jerry famously died of a diabetic heart attack in a drug rehab, maybe someone got ideas. While I was in Brentwood the lawyer sent me a copy of the trust instrument where my parents had initialed that when my mom dies, the inheritance, which it originally says was divided into thirds between me, my brother, and sister, they rubbed me out and divided it in half between my brother and sister. She'll get my mom's house worth about $2 million, and she has a $4.3 million house in Bel-Air, and a house in Telluride, and my dad bought my brother a house in Sedona. I was living in Laurie's apartment. My brother will get my dad's commercial property in Oakland, a tire and party store. And there's some money they'll divide in half. Yes...it's horrible. Must be a lot of heads on the 101 cashing in on a few of their Apple of Google options or shares - what do they care - it's only money. Okay...only kidding there. But not kidding regarding the stupid money people are paying for tickets that aren't even tangibly in hand. Time to be going down the road, feeling sad...

As my buddy said after being shut out of TM and seeing the raping that was taking place on Stubhub, "Jerry would be pissed man, he's gotta be so mad, I bet he's so mad, he doesn't even show up!" Remember, there will be tapers there and as the big guy used to say, once it's left his instrument, it's free for the masses...keep an eye on LMA for the shows to pop up (Tapers, we the unlucky, are counting on you!)

All these tickets on Stub Hub and Ebay are all shitty seats. A lot of scumbags selling but i also believe dead heads that got 4 tickets are selling 2 for the huge profits to pay their way. Sure, you can say "all the power to them" but if they were not the lucky ones they would be pissed. I saw the band over 75 times with Jerry and at least 15 more variations after. JFK or Rich Stadium sucked, never went back to a Stadium show after 1984. Sound sucked and the band were pin pricks in any seat. This is a joke and big money waster. $39.95 to see Jerry, $5000 to see nothing, no brainer, stay home and play some real Jerry from the 70's!!! Gonna pull out the Grateful Dead Movie and have a party!!!

Next ebay auction due in 1 hour, 2 3day passes at about $475per ticket per night ($2,800)I don't see anyone bidding on the crazy prices. $475 is not a good price but its not 10x face either.

If the comment about the email from GDTS is true or not...why have they not posted anything official? I may be a fool, but I have to keep the faith until the I see a pinky or email or official posting at least. I know I had my email on the card. It is short and I took 5 minutes to be sure it was legible.

Ok fellow shut outs, as I see it, the prices HAVE to come down. There are nearly 5,000 tickets (of 210,000) still for sale. So either the prices come down or there are 4,815 people left with their dicks in their hands...at the current going rate, that means around $50 k left on the table...this is JUST stubhub alone - forget eBay. The vultures will have to adjust now that the initial panic of not being there starts to abate. Keeping in mind that this is only 2.3% of the total tickets, so not all people (in fact only a small percentage) are assholes. I am still hopeful. I am also sure that those of us who hang out in the parking lot with our cardboard signs will find some kind people who had friends who could not make it for one reason or another. Lets keep the faith brothers and sisters, and if they don't, I am still happy seeing the various incarnations of the band. Remember it is the music that brings us together, not just the event (though that is a huge part too...)

For viewing and listening pleasure, here is my African Cichlid Fish Tank with an 8 minute jam of Eyes of the World before Jerry starts to sing. Yes, 8 minutes of jamming before the lyrics. I believe the longest one ever, unless anyone can correct me if I am wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnSvD-NvZWs

Not all - in fact, looking at the numbers, 536 are floor, so around 10% of that 2% and there are a lot of seats still in the stands with views, just not 3 day pass seats with views...the 3 day passes are all behind the stage playing peek-a-boo.

There is a rumor about an email from elvis@gdtstoo.com stating if you didn't get an email you will not get tickets. I have not heard or read on any forum that a mass email or multiple emails were sent out stating as such. Besides not sending a mass email or reports of several people with the email, why wouldn't they officially update their html update page? It seems if there were zero tickets or confirmations left to be fulfilled, they would update that page. It would only take a few seconds. I can't help but think there is still some hope. It could be that they are still sorting through how many GA pit tickets are available. I know from concerts past that estimates are made in advance, but even on day of show the fire Marshall makes adjustments and tickets have been released. I'm holding out hope. Second, as far as people still droning on about how this was all a scam, or money grab, or scalpers got all the tickets, or Ticketmaster got all the tickets for the aftermarket... none of it is true. The info is out there. Two thirds of all tickets went to GDTS. The rest went to Ticketmaster which included the packages, VIP, Chicago Bears, and Saturday's on-sale. As of yesterday afternoon, only 2.86% of all seats for 3 nights (5997 seats) were available at Stubhub and that does not take into account multiple posts at different prices to get higher prices and fake or short selling posts. Most brokerages overlap from SHub to Ticketsnow to Vividseats, etc, etc. The reason there are very limited of the best seats available on the aftermarket is due to the fact that a majority of the best seats in the house went to GDTS and thus the fans. In conclusion, the vast majority of tickets went to fans and there is only an extremely small percentage of tickets on the aftermarket. If you didn't get tickets, it's simple due to demand. There isn't a secret supply going to rich guys or or connected aftermarket sites. You can blame the remaining members of the Dead for only playing 3 nights, but really? Do they really owe us anything? Do they owe us a full tour? A free concert? No, they don't owe us a thing. We're lucky they're still alive and doing 3 nights.

I want to add two new points that have not been mention in the last couple of days or weeks.... 1. Once tickets are distributed in June, I would bet my last dollar that counterfeit tickets will come into play. With today's tech savvy criminals, there will be thousands of these tickets for sale. That GA Pit ticket at $100 face will go for $400 or $500 for a quick sale. Some regular fan who did not want to pay a couple of thousand is going to be taken. Right now these individuals are planning, designing, doing the criminal thing. 2. I think we are all in agreement 210,000 plus tickets where sold. How many people do you still are going to show up. Ratio of 5 to 1; maybe a MILLION. You will have every Deadhead, wannabe hipster, pot dealer, I want one, I mean anyone and everyone who wants to be part of the scene in attendance outside Soldier field. Chicago will not know what hit them till it is to late. I have read over thousand posts in a couple of threads on this site. Everyone is in agreement that there are opportunities with the way things where handle between 1/20 and 2/28. Does anyone think it will be any better the first week in July. This will be "Project X" for baby boomers. Think about all the bad scenes at concerts over the last 30 or 40 years. This is my fear. I will be there with my wife to celebrate the end of the long strange trip, but one eye will be open to make sure things go right. Don't want a bad acid trip. I know this is a downer, but this 50 year celebration seems to miss the step time after time. Why should I think any different in June or July. I am still hopeful for that magic email from GDTSTOO. I am still hopeful for two on Sunday. I am still hopeful for peace this July. Peace out........

Well, well, well, looks like I'm not the only one who is feeling the pain of being ButtF%$#%$ by "our band". You can make this right, shitpario and the rest of you core 4, add more shows, easy. Is this band so special that they can only play 3 shows? Why? Too old? Add more shows you guys, and all will be forgiven. Or not, and pay the piper. One would think that if this was MY legacy I would want it to go out really fine, not this shit. So man up you guys, do more shows in New York city, Miami, LA and San Francisco, just do it. If shitpario is so good, then prove it, make this happen, or your legacy will be shit. Do the right thing and stop thinking about your self, we are just as much part of this band as you and I think you should remember that, Phil, Bobby, Mickey and Billy, without us, you would be a footnote in Jerry's Biography. Or did you forget that?

Ticket scam? = maybe or maybe not, who really knows? Conspiracy against the deadheads? = highly unlikely Mishandled and mismanaged? = Absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt Case in point for last item = internet presale for Bears fans but not true heads? I mean you have got to be kidding...(when I heard that, I frikkin' lost it.)

I still want to go because I am addicted to the idea of 1 last trip with the dead. However, considering how this ticket BS went, imagine how the shows themselves will be handled? Anyone here think it will be smooth as glass with no problems? Think again...

I thought that was odd, too, to do pre-sale to Bears fans. I'm guessing they may have had to do it as part of some agreement with Soldier Field. And I wonder if those are some of the astronomically priced tickets we're seeing now on all these sites??

You are a realist in many ways....smooth as glass, not a chance...Altamont revisited ....unlikely....memorable for one reason or another....certainly.... Assholes abound....in our scene and elsewhere.... But...we will get by...we will survive!

yep......and i'm not talking tickets. but as uncle sam said, they can make it right. guess we'll see what happens. we all know how Jerry would've celabrated the 50th. on tour. why wouldn't they want to do the same thing? if it was about the legacy and the fans? i know they dont owe us anything, but this anniversary is celebrating us right? the fans, the music, the legacy. i dont know. so bummed. dont wanna bring anyone else down. peace for now.

Just to set the record straight, only Bears season ticket holders in the club level were given the opportunity to purchase tickets presale. They were allowed to purchase 2 tickets per show, or what boils down to how many seats they have (four season tix = 4 tix per show, etc). I don't know how many ticket holders there are in the club level, but it's not as many as you are thinking, I guarantee that. Bears season tickets holders must buy a PSL (personal seat license) on top of the cost of the season tickets. The Club level members must also then pay an additional fee on top of the PSL & season ticket cost. I don't see how this is any different than somebody who has season tickets to say Alpine Valley, or perhaps The World Music Theatre (whatever it's called these days). Had the show been held at a regular concert venue, season ticket holders from that venue would likely have been allowed to preorder GD tickets as well. It goes with the territory of supporting that venue or some special club at said venue.

Will suck, as do all Stadium shows. Good luck getting a beer or going to the bathroom with 70K people. Lineups will be a nightmare There will be so many pretenders, not true Dead Heads. They should have done a small tour which included East and West coast. so disappointed with all that has transpired. Rest in peace Jerry, you WERE the Dead! Boston Music Hall June 9, 1976 For viewing and listening pleasure, here is my African Cichlid Fish Tank with an 8 minute jam of Eyes of the World before Jerry starts to sing. Yes, 8 minutes of jamming before the lyrics. I believe the longest one ever, unless anyone can correct me if I am wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnSvD-NvZWs

Who in hell has 2 3 day passes in hand in sec.124...... Looking at the map, all seats offered there are either limited view side or rear no view except these 2 seats.... I guess at 7k + per ticket, that's a deal.

The "email" claiming to be from ELVIS/GDTS-TOO that stated all requests have been filled was posted here yesterday. I copied it and sent to a friend. Here it is: Sun 3/01/15 Hi folks, If you did not receive an email informing you that you are a lottery winner, then your money orders are on their way back to you asap. Elvis and the GDTSTOO Crew _______end____ Funny thing is, it's subject line was: MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE and the ELIVS "email" was timestamped 8 hours AFTER the message was posted to dead.net. (I didn't get the ELVIS timestamp on my copy.) Merry Pranksters abound.... I am in limbo with GDTS-TOO and believe that they are still processing tickets. Personally, while the TM sale was absurd and sad (due mostly to the record-breaking sale, NOT a conspiracy involving the band, I think), I do find the dark mystery about tickets that is created by GDTS and the awesomeness of the event to be a wild ride. There are rays of hope for anyone who hasn't received a pink slip. It's a long and strange trip, remember? Nothing guaranteed, just a roll of them bones.

OK, does this means it's final? If I haven't received tickets at this point, then I'm not going too. Geez, it sure would be nice if they posted it on the GDTSTOO site.I'm not on Facebook.

I didn't get my SASE back today so I'm still hoping. I contacted an person I know that works for PO. She took my MO numbers and will let me know in the am if they are cashed. Until I actually get my MO back I'm not giving up. Why not hold out until I KNOW for a fact it's over. If indeed I don't get tickets I will let someone who does take my room. Of course I can't help but wonder if my request even made it to CA. That's the sucky part. No ill feeling for the band..I wouldn't want to go at all if I didn't love these guys. No negativity maybe huge disappointment if I don't make it but that's the bottom line..keep checking in to see if there is more than speculation

That was the most info I have received yet. Thank you. Mine was sent from Key West with a NY return envelope.. I have no email and they have not been cashed. How is it possible that in this age of vast communication no one has leaked out a peep as to what is going on.

my post means that the "email" posted here claiming to be from elvis at gdts-too was a joke. it was "a message from the future" that somebody posted here yesterday and that people are taking as real. if you haven't received a pink slip, you are still in the game.

I don't know, very conflicted. I know and understand there being anger and frustration, but the band was never the main attraction. It's always been about the community of people who gathered around them and our shared beliefs and culture. 1) don't blame the band or anyone else. We should be happy that there are so many of us...more than anyone really knew. 2) GDTS should release some kind of a statement. Too many people in limbo (myself included). I'm sure there is a reason, but silence is letting everyone else dictate the narrative. 3) wait out the scalpers . Prices will come down. It's the heat of the moment. By June they will be the ones sweating. 4) if you believe what I said at the top, come to Chicago. Have fun whether you get in or not, but leave the negativity behind. It's only 3hrs out of the day. You can make the other 21 hrs special. Celebrate the community. Hopefully Chicago will welcome us like Oxford, ME did. Maybe you will get lucky. Miracles do happen. 5) everything here could be wrong.

There is no avoiding that the Dead got “too” popular in the mid-80s and thereafter. Even if they toured more people would have been left out than included. Part of that is the culture, we don’t go to a show, we want to go to all the shows. So the letdown of many is inevitable. What was avoidable was the long drawn out torture of those who sent in mail orders, pouring their hearts into decorating letters for rejection, having significant funds tied up for unreasonably long, beyond the online ticket sale date. Don’t know that I could have done better, but these are pros, they should have known better. I’m so glad I decided to shine it on as soon as I heard about the intimate venue they selected. They mathematically couldn’t make everyone happy, but they didn’t have to prolong the agony.

I so appreciated your post! I had my doubts to its validity and you confirmed. It's difficult to wait..but a hell of a sight easier then that stupid little wheel onTM. I felt like a hampster! A lot more hopeful until they post word that's over. No last call yet. And prices will go down. I've done okay in the last 20 years but could never afford or be willing to drop that kind of cash to a scalper. Reminded me of a show I did buy a bogus ticket but they kept us waiting so long when they opened the doors the crowd just carried me in. I think it was Hampton but not sure. 1984 maybe..I've slept since then so not sure.

I debated about posting Elvis' reply to my question about no pinky and no email, and request for status update because I didn't want to crush anyone's hope. I would copy the whole thing and post it but don't want my email in there because it has my work address and there are is one nut bag on here i would rather not give any info. too...curious if more people email will they get the same answer. Their lack of a statement on their site makes me hope they are still sorting out some orders and checking their lists. Anyway, I checked the time stamp and it was about two hours after I sent the status update request. And it was disappointing to read, if you haven't gotten an email yet we are working on returning MO's asap. However, I still don't want to give up hope until I actually get them in the mail. There is no reason to think they may not release more tickets and perhaps once they actually start to fill the orders they may notice that people didn't listen to directions about sending in only one envelope. I sent one envelope (but even that I can see where maybe they meant multiple requests for the same night, seems open to interpretation). Here is my latest fantasy, the Boys employee some people to track down the people scalping their mail order seats and never send their tickets and give them to the people who are in limbo instead. It would be lovely to see Karma work swiftly here!

Until they update their page or I myself get an email saying your MO's are being returned, I have a bit of hope. Even if I don't get tickets, I'm going and it's going to be awesome. Very few tickets are in the hands of scalpers meaning I'm sure I'll get a ticket to at least one night. I'll have fun with the circus in the parking lot without being part of any problem such as gate crashing, etc. If strangers around me start acting up, I'll leave. Hopefully, Grant Park will have it on a big screen like they do for movies in the park every other week during the summer. I can go to after shows with dead bands and see old friends. I can't wait. Even if I don't have seats all 3 nights, it's going to be a helluva party in the museum district of downtown Chicago. :)

How come a new account? Btw, I do agree with most of what you are saying.

You make it seem like the ticket allocation system was very flawed. Until they prove its not and the MO situation is cleared up and better seating is starting to appear in bulk. A lot of folks are still in the dark. For the most part I agree with what your saying. Some of the behind the scene deals with tickets get to the highest of events. World Cup last year was plagued with inside jobs. I don't know much about Shapiro. But right now he's looking like Sepp Blatter at the soccer game

Listen man, I think we all agree that the band has always flown by the seat of their pants. Scully was the master of it. What I am having a lot of trouble actually buying into (as someone who was completely shut out) is that the band had anything to do with it. They have a history of letting other people take care of the stuff outside of the stage. This is a fact. NOW whether Shapiro wanted to milk as much as he could, I'm sure he does. That is his business, he is a promoter, and as such, his job is to make as much money as he possibly can and do as little as possible. Personally, I am getting tired of your ranting and raving, and furthermore, I am not sure that playing I fought the law while people are teargassed is instigation. Certainly doesn't sound like Limp Bizkit playing Break Stuff at "Woodstock III", THAT is inciting a riot. The band is (now) four guys that are, quite honestly very old and really don't need any money. Bobby has a ton in publishing, Phil, well Phil has been on the road for 50 years, Billy and Mickey, sure, they could always need some cash but the couple hundred million that they are making from these shows I am sure will suffice. (I realize they don't see it all but the percentage that they will see from the 3 shows off of tickets will be more than enough. So man, give it a rest, quit trying to fan the flames and stay off the meth, it is seriously clouding your judgement and giving us all here a headache. OR if you are serious and think that you are onto something, hire a lawyer and file charges with a lawsuit afterwards.

Oh yeah and no one is responding to you because you are not really making sense anymore...a lot of ranting and raving with little that is coherent. (That and we are all shit terrified you find out who we are and come to our houses)

How many days have you been awake on meth? Seriously. So which is it? Gate crashing is good or bad? If I keep probing you then perhaps you might become coherent. Again, I am so not following what the hell you are talking about, but am thinking it best not to ask - though I am sure you will be filling us in. No, you're not bad assed, you're bat-shit crazy.
