    Grrrreat!!!!
If memory serves, and I'm "sure" (wink) it does. The Dead came on at 2 AM. When they got to Dark Star, I left my body and came back near the end of Lovelight. Show over, we walked outside and the sun was just comin up. Beautiful !! "Turn it on and leave it on..."

Any of you old NY Heads, see the Dead on 2/13/70 {actually 2/14} with the Allman Bros. and Love {another L.A. greatly underappreciated band}? That show was actually a N.Y. version of the "Trips Festival" because Owsley and a guy I knew spread some great chemical subtances around that night. That's the only show I could remember, where during Smokestack Lightning, that the band did some wierd interplay with time, that made everyone trip harder and the strobe lights behind the lightshow screen made it seem like the whole place was vibrating......quite mindblowing. This was my first Grateful Dead concert of many. If memory serves me right, during the performance on more than one occasion Jerry broke a string on his guitar and a stage hand changed the strings without Jerry missing a note. Great concert with a lot of magic in the audience.

yup- second show--my first real Dead concert with my friend Michael. Saw 'em at Woodstock before, but that doesn't really count...superior Dark Star into St. Stephen (remember shows where folks would scream out "St. Stephen!" ?)...Amped up with all the possibility. Most amazing coming out of there after a long night of magic..and the sun was coming up. Perfection. Whoa.
