the wrong friends
I went with some friends who didn't like the band, and damn, it seemed to make it sound pretty bad to me too! Don't take negative people to shows with you! ;-)
Shorter But Sweet
while the set list here may look a bit short, it is still an excellent show. Take a listen to the Comes a Time - specifically the jam at the end, it is truly mesmerizing as it ebbs and flows with intensity; phil drops some very nice, jazzy lines which them dominate the remainder of the jam into a short drums sequence. The Other > Eyes is also quite special, if for nothing else than the dreamy, wah-wah induced transition between the two songs; I've not heard another one like it. A definite high point of this show, not to be missed.
not to mention...
...NFA is very probably the final version with the Bobby screams. It harkens back to the 'pre-retirement' versions. Once upon a time, when the dead.net Taper's Section allowed downloading this was one of the nuggets included. http://www.dead.net/features/tapers-section/july-16-july-22 (alas the links are no longer active)
