We're getting a lot of folks asking where to send corrections for assorted errors they've found in the show archives. Maybe they didn't really play "Saint of Circumstance" that night. Maybe we have the band at the Meadowlands when they were really at MSG. Maybe the boys are simultaneously in Philadelphia and Phoenix. Whatever mistakes you've found, this is the place to report them. Please include this information to make it easier for the tech folks to deal with: The date and/or URL of the show in question (for example, https://www.dead.net/show/june-21-1980) A detailed description of the problem (for example, wrong town, wrong venue, no "St. Stephen," etc.) The source of your information (for example, DeadBase, notes on your tape, "Hey, I was in the front row and I'll never forget it!") Thank you! (Note: once we've made the corrections, we will delete the posts to reduce confusion and redundancy. If your post disappears, that doesn't mean we're not Grateful. Quite the reverse.)

sorry for the repetition - no way to edit my original 3/5/71 post I guess. Anyway, the "previous show" link at 3/5/71 takes you to 2/24/71, not 3/3/71. I'm guessing all the confusion is due to the fact that the 3/3/71 poster actually says 3/3/70 so that show originally must've been listed as 3/3/70. (the ticket stub for the 3/3/71 clearly shows that the airwaves benefit was indeed on 3/3/71 so the poster must be wrong. See http://www.psilo.com/dead/showimage.php?iid=67&text=03-03-71%20Ticket)

This listing is kind of screwy - it says this show was at the Syndrome. The Syndrome was in Chicago so that can't be right. Poster says it was at the Carousel Ballroom (Fillmore West). Also, the "previous show" link takes you to 3/18/71! And the "next show" link takes you to 3/4/70. I know time could get kind of funky at shows but still...

A couple issues for the 3/5/71 listing: The notes are for the Airwaves Benefit which was on 3/3/71. Also the 3/5/71 poster says the show was held at the Oakland Auditorium Arena (aka the Kaiser). The dead.net listing says Fillmore West. Does anyone if it actually was held at Fillmore West?

I remember going to that Pacific Stereo free show at the Cow Palace. I think it was 1969, but I'm not 100% on that. What I do remember is that there were lots of fights in the stands during that show. This show was the reason I didn't go to Altamont (another free show), I went to shows for the music and to have a good time, not to get into fights. I've NEVER regretted skipping Altamont.

I have the biggest problem with this show. Not so much with the set list, nor with the opener. I know the Starship/Airplane (whatever incarnation) opened for them that day. The problem I have is that the concert wasn't held at Lindley Meadows. I remember it being held at Marx Meadow and sitting on the hill overlooking the stage looking down. If you know Golden Gate Park (I've lived in San Francisco since 1973), the only place you can do that is at Marx Meadow. Lindley Meadows is way to open for me to do that. For the last seven years I've worked on the staff of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival that puts up stages at Speedway, Marx, and Lindley Meadows (90 performers on 5 stages over 3 days) and I know the venue very well. I still think that it was Marx Meadow for this concert. I need to have a little more info to help me prove that it was Lindley Meadow. Thanks. Also, I don't see mention of a free concert that they played at the Cow Palace for an old stereo outfit called Pacific Stereo. They gave away thousands of tickets to the concert but didn't let everyone in and a riot ensued with broken windows and cops in riot gear. I seem to remember a retail stereo show for gear followed by a concert with a couple of bands that included The Starship and The Grateful Dead. Phil was playing on the right side of the stage just above me and the music was really loud with notes coming out of the speakers like bubbles and popping over the audience. Then some lady came out on stage and said that she just wanted everyone to just please go home now. We left the Cow Palace to our car through a line of cops with nightsticks and riot gear - it scared the hell out of us. Anyway, memory gets fuzzy at that point. I'm not sure if the whole weekend was involved or if this was "the big night" or not. I have a feeling that the Butterfield Blues Band is in there somewhere. I don't remember the date though, sorry.

Correction: Fire on the Mountain does not appear on the set list on this page. This Lindley Meadows show was one of my favorites. I am sure they played Fire on the Mountain because it is the first place I ever heard it played. I remember remarking to my friend how awesome it sounded bumping along and teasing in its intro and jam. I don't recall how it was placed in the setlist though. Aren't there recordings of this concert to verify what was played from? I remember seeing mics in the air and a mixing board area in the middle of the crowd that had to be negotiated around.

I listened to the Europe 72 box set and the 1st set on your site does not match and is missing songs. In listening to the recording the songs are seamless. Correct setlist is on the CDs http://www.dead.net/show/may-10-1972

The GD did the Capitol Theatre on 11/24/78 and their next show was at the Fronton in Miami on 12/12/78. While it is possible they hung around NYC for a Thankgiving holiday and then did their first ever run starting on or around 12/1 it is unlikely. It is pretty much well-agreed that the Dead had their first run in the Garden proper (not the basement Felt Forum) on 1/7-8/79. It would be unusual for them to go back to the Garden that quickly, especially as they had to sell a lot of tickets very quickly -- something they were not doing around this time (listen to Jerry address the crowd at Rupp Arena on 4/21/78. In fact, it is curious timing for them to even attempt the Garden at this time. It seems like about 18 months too early. Perhaps they got favorable terms in their contract from the Garden through Jon Scher (I think that was his name). Where this stub came from is another matter. It would seem to prove there was a show. Who would go through the trouble of making a counterfeit? Did the shows get rescheduled? That could account for it. Anybody else want to chime in?

I was thinking this coincided with those Capitol Theater shows where Jerry had no voice. But his playing made up for it.

Listed as Filmore West. In fact this is the date the Dead played (or anyway were scheduled to play) a benefit for the Black Panthers at the Oakland Auditorium Arena. No setlist available. The posters for the show are readily available online with a Google images search, and even on this site: http://www.dead.net/archives/1971/artwork/black-panther-benefit-poster

The July 17, 1989 Alpine Valley set list on Deadnet is incorrect - they played West LA Fadeaway, Desolation Row and Deal in the first set, not Row Jimmy, Masterpiece, Push, etc, as listed. This is the "Downhill from here" show, or one of them. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OekWK7LorMw for the show, assuming it's listed correctly on Youtube. The set lists of July 17 & July 19 were mixed up on Deadnet, at least for the end of set 1. Specifically, the July 19 end of set 1 was wrongly listed as being on July 17. Also, I noted while watching the show that Brent would be dead with a little over a year of this show. He looked really messed up here on the video in July 1989.

This show http://www.dead.net/show/february-5-1969 did not happen in Omaha, NE the Dead opened the show for the Iron Butterfly in Kansas City, Kansas, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, 7th and Barnett St. There is a partial stream of this show at https://archive.org/details/gd69-02-05.sbd.cotsman.8993.sbeok.shnf (please read catfishbob's comment of 05/21/2008 with details) I attended this performance and it was my first Grateful Dead show. I actually talked with Jerry between shows and got his autograph (it read "Live Jer")I have heard the Dead played Omaha on 02/15/1969, but did not attend or know anyone with details) Thank you.

For some reason there is a show listed before the first show, That is, the first show - at Magoos's. 5/5/65 - displays a link for a previous show, which of course is impossible. (The Dead did mess around with space and time, but not actual time travel.) Clicking on that link brings you to a show two years in the future. There is a not from MaryE to the effect that this is being worked on ... from seven years ago. So this is a reminder, that this ought to be corrected. Thanks!

Given the Dead's custom of not playing the same song or jam 2 shows in a row, it would have been highly unlikely they would have played a 'Nobody's Jam' on both 5-8 and 5-9. Out of curiosity, I went back to have a listen and I can confirm that although there is a jam with a slight air of the 'Nobody's Fault' theme tucked into NFA on 5-8, it certainly does not occur on 5-9 at all. One could argue it really doesn't happen on 5-8 as currently listed either. It might read on 5-8 as NFA>Nobody's Jam>NFA, but that's dubious as well. I encourage you to check it out for yourself and make your own determination! In summary: no 'Nobody's Jam' on http://www.dead.net/show/may-9-1981 for sure and dubious 'Nobody's Jam' on http://www.dead.net/show/may-8-1981, certainly not before NFA as listed. (a sandwich maybe)

The Grateful Dead had a certain penchant for inserting a drum solo in between Let it Grow in the early part of 1976. The following show pages do not indicate the return to Let it Grow, creating the incorrect appearance of a segue into a different song entirely.http://www.dead.net/show/june-3-1976 http://www.dead.net/show/june-4-1976 http://www.dead.net/show/june-9-1976 http://www.dead.net/show/june-12-1976 http://www.dead.net/show/june-15-1976 (missing any indication of Drums at all)

Second Set: "The Rain Song" should be simply "Rain" (Lennon/McCartney - It was the "B" side of Paperback Writer; released in the U.S. 5/30/66). I'll never forget... The first drop of rain landed on my arm just as the boys hit the opening chord to Rain. Then the heavens opened up and rained like hell. Too much fun... http://www.dead.net/show/june-30-1995

Sept 20, 1982 my first show. Not too familiar with the newer songs, but I was happy when they did Dupree's since I knew that one. Near the end of the show I'm sure they did Around and Around because I had been in my seat for the whole show and when they started that Chuck Berry beat I was bouncing around in my seat and when Bob shouted out I rose out of my seat Lord I had to dance I spontaneously jumped up and finished the whole show dancing in my seat. I never did that for any other band. I turned to my boyfriend and said I think I like this band. I'm going to go again. Also, for my second show in April 1983 I was incredulous that they were playing a song I only knew from an I Love Lucy episode, Man Smart, Woman Smarter. I'm pretty sure I would have recognized that song if they had done it this night, which I don't think they did. But I'm positive about the Around and Around. Never sat in a seat again after that first show.

I posted this a couple of times in the past years. This show of February 05, 1969 was at Kansas City, KS Soldier's and Sailor's Memorial Hall. GD opened for Iron Butterfly. There is a recording of this, my first GD show, on Archive.org. https://archive.org/details/gd69-02-05.sbd.cotsman.8993.sbeok.shnfat end of set Jerry is heard announcing "the Iron Butterly will be on in a few minutes" It was not at Music Box in Omaha, NE, (approximately 4 hrs. north of Kansas City, KS.) I have a Major important question about the USB Besides the fact that the USB is the same price as the box set, the fact we don't get the book is an issue, but I know you won't be doing anything about that.... which honestly kinda sucks Given the cost to produce the USB package vs the cd package (but still charging the same don't seem right, if your being honest with yourself....you should agree) Most importantly..... Will the 2nd sets of these shows run uninterrupted ? CDs fade out at end of disk two Fading back into disk three..... l hate that, can't sit back and chill to a second set that way! The reason I bought the USB is so there would be no breaks in the middle of the sets like the CDs will obviously be. This is probably a major issue for all people buying the USB (Even though there is only 1,000 of us) We don't get the booklet or the fancy box But that's not a problem, if they run uninterrupted I did not want the CDs for that reason (and storage too) as well as wanting 24/96 resolution (sweet) Has this question been brought up by anyone?and I hope you guys were smart enough to master the USB as uninterrupted shows, unlike the CDs (more work for you guys but you are charging enough for this package now dubbed "BOXILLA") I truly will be disappointed if there is breaks in the middle of a set This issue will be a major problem I'll want my money back if they are these interruptions, so....... Look forward to a response Thomas A. Violagis Jr.

I was part of the group of students who booked this GD show on Halloween 1969 to celebrate the opening of the new SJSU College Union. The poster image on this listing is wrong. The poster for the concert was by Scott Peterson and was a dark forest scene with a devilish ghoul cavorting around a fire in an evil woods, and I have a copy of that poster. Please fix this. I'm a hardcore Dead Head and saw about 15-20concerts, plus I own over 50 of their concert CDs.

On May 4th, 1968, the band played SUNY - Stoney Brook - in the middle of Long Island. It was some sort of end of semester "dance". There was a cake backstage because it was Sunshine's 2nd birthday, which someone set firecrackers into at some point. Can't say I remember the set list, though!

Since you listed the CC Rider tease before Lazy Lightning... I think it only fair to include th St Stephen tease during space. I was there, and it is clearly heard on any recording on the archive. After Spanish Jam, leading into Not Fade Away. There was a group of people walking in front of the stage carrying a sheet with "St Steven" and a skull & roses painted on it.

The song played before the start of the 2nd set was actually "Fanfare for the Common Man"by Aaron Copeland. It was used as the Olympic theme song. Jerry's nod to the venue! The "2001" theme song (also sprach zarathustra)is similar but not what was played. I was there, and can be heard on tapes, though I haven't found it on any archive recordings

I was there. My band, the Vipers, actually opened the show. I was the drummer, Ed Levin.http://www.chickenonaunicycle.com/Phoenix.htm We weren't on the poster or the newspaper ad, but neither were the Dead. http://rockarchaeology101.blogspot.com/2010/03/1805-geary-blvd-san-fran… Ralph Gleason still referred to them as the Warlocks in his review. http://deadsources.blogspot.com/2013/02/december-10-1965-fillmore-audit… The "VIPs" was his misreading of our name, the Vipers. Since we DID play at the gig, I humbly request Dead.net to include The Vipers on the bill.

According to: https://archive.org/search.php?query=title%3A%28Grateful%20Dead%29%20AN… the setlist for this date (incorrectly noted as 23-Aug-71) may be: Set 1 Uncle John's Band, Sugaree, Playin' In The Band, Mr. Charlie, Loser, El Paso, It Hurts Me Too, Cumberland Blues, Beat It On Down The Line, Brown Eyed Women, Me & My Uncle, Casey Jones Set 2 Saint Stephen-> Not Fade Away-> Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad-> Not Fade Away, Sing Me Back Home, Truckin', Big Railroad Blues, Me And Bobby McGee, Brokedown Palace, Big Boss Man, Sugar Magnolia That mostly agrees with Dick's Picks 35, except for the fact that Dick's Picks 35 is incomplete and also includes two additional songs: Empty Pages (between Cumberland Blues and Beat It On Down The Line) and Good Lovin (after Brokedown Palace). Big Boss Man precedes Brokedown Palace on Dick's Picks 35.
