State websites usualy list where their rest area's are. Find one close and crash there, thats what im doing. Look up truck stops too, they have shower rooms you can use also for like $6-$8 if your the type that needs a shower. You can look up car pool lots also, there's many places to crash. Just dont get so tanked you cant make it, nothing spoils a tour like having to deal with the law.

February 1st, 1960 marks the 49th anniversary of the fateful day four brave black students sat down at a segregated lunch counter in a woolworth's store in Greensboro and made history. The counter's chairs and stools were for whites only, while blacks had to stand to eat. The four were refused service, but were allowed to stay. The next day, 28 students joined the sit-in, and the next there were 300 more. About 5 months later, 3 major stores changed there policies to allow intergrated counters. 4 yrs later the civil rights act was signed by LBJ.How cool is that? I remember the day when hippies, long hairs and dead heads were treated the same way. Like once in a restaurant in Ohio in l969 when we were refused service due to our appearance. Thank the stars for people like these students and dead heads everywhere for standing up for what you believe in. "We will survive"

But isn't scalpers BEFORE public ass-backwards? Setting the public up for higher priced tix, from the get-go? Like "if you wanna see this show, bow down and beg, and pay out the nose"?Simple business calculations would seem to indicate that every party involved in selling these tickets earns their percentage on them, making the end price higer, after every extra agency they go through. ********************************** It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

I've heard that the tickets were on sale on TicketNow and Other Scalper sites, even before they went on sale to the public....being that I just got home, haven't been able to sort through all of the info, but from what I see this is true!____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Am I reading correctly or incorrectly that it sounds like Ticketmaster sold, "allotted" or whatever, huge blocks of tickets to their sister company TicketNow? Reading through this, this does not surprise me. Just got an email from Sugarmegs.org (i've been working alot throughout all of this) and they said ALL the Mail orders have been fulfilled, except for a few (1 out of 3 ain't bad for Shoreline) and this is all just wrong. I used to mail order everytime for shows, only got shut out once. Needless to say, I suspected that Ticket Bastard and others did this for along time before this. NOW I KNOW. "It's a sign of the times", people say. "It's all about the Benjamins", others do. But really? I don't blame the band at all. They are just musicians that are the best in the world....think of how many bands they've influenced, why so much GREED? So wrong. Thank God I got my tickets to Chicago. I'm skeptical about getting any for Shoreline. Most of my headicated friends from home (Bay Area) had to work at the time of the presale too, except for the mail orders, and "tried" to buy tickets through Ticket Bastard to no evail. I'm so excited to see these shows, I've been dancin and singing all over town. Yet, this really pisses me off. Thank you to all on this forum for letting me know that at the very least, WE all still have our original values. There are some really good people in this community, so let's just stay true to each other, and say FUCK the money monger bastards! I can't wait to see the boys in full swing, making me feel like I'm home again. Blowing my mind, and melting my innards. Thank you Billy, Bobby, Phil, Mickey, Warren, and Jeff for letting me know you are NOT apart of this rape! ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? i have been going to shows at worcester since the mid 80's..... just some parking garages and a few small lots scatered around the venue...the locals don't seem to mind its downtown so your not bothering them..some hotels within walking distance..the cops are quick to react but if you don't bother them they leave you alone BUT when the show is over they clear it out fast i mean fast they have no problem useing battons to hustle the croud...well over all its a food seen that can tour bad fast

Don't think this head has the power to resist the sweet temptation of touring again. It's in my blood and veins....I'm gonna get on the bus in Chitown all the way through The Gorge. I can't wait to be twirling with all you headicated people! I'm gonna be dancin' and singin' where the grass is always greener (the Dead shows) and I am considerably excited. Don't even think I'm gonna care if I have all the tickets or not. I've put my finger in the air many times before and I'll tell you that I don't mind hanging out in the drum circles outside in the lot! Love ya all~ ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!

Anyone get their mail order from Verizon Center show in April yet? I'm hearing about all these other shows getting their tickets that take place later in the tour and wondering why the earlier show didn't go out first. I guess I'm just starting to get concerned since this is the first show for my son and I wanted to give him the tickets for his birthday which is this 3/6.

I can't believe I lost out on the Garden shows ( so far at least ). I went through ticket master about a minute after it went on sale and it re-directed me to their alter site for 10X face value tickets. A few weeks later there was all kinds of outrage that the same thing happened to the Springsteen shows then all of a sudden all kinds of politicians and government officials get involved and they change their rules / policies ... a lot of good that did me !

In the process of setting up a little get together, on a farm just outside of the venue (6-10 miles) you could walk. But, it's not going to get out of hand, and only kind people will be let in the "doors"____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? I will be bringing 2 decorated banners on tour. Both banners are being designed by talented artists. I will be at every show with them(except the second shoreline) and already have plans to meet up with lots of people from this site to get them signed. I am trying to get as many signatures as possible! I will also be taking fun pics with them at scenic locations like haight/ashbury corner... times square and everything in between! If you would like to make arrangements to meet up and sign please email me at jphilipedwards@yahoo.comHope to see you at the show! Peace 42% of all statistics are made up.

I haven't received my 5-4 CHI tic yet -- they said it should be in my mailbox by 2 weeks before the show. M 5-5 tic I pick up there -- I splurged on a High Time VIP package... I'm trying to find my DeadHead friends here in STL who are going up to CHI -- anyone else around here going to the CHI shows?? Hope they keep this up... My first show was in '81 at Assembly Hall in Champaigne, Urbana (U of IL). Second show was at Riverport (yuk...band was good -- just don't care for Riverport or whatever Corporate name it has now) in '94 in STL, MO. Missed two-thirds of the show cause some one not associated with the concert was attempting to suicide from a building in that area. They stopped us on Hwy 70 -- I had to PISS so bad!! Got to my seat at the drum solo!!! Carry a bucket in the car, folks... I see Ratdog and Phil and Friends whenever they come thru StL. Can't wait!! Laura :)

You wrote:GDTSTOO "I think it is very cool of them to offer an upgrade and to give you a few days to come up with the cash. What more can you ask for??" My problem is, I mailed MO at 6am on first day of mail order. Got an email from their yahoo group saying all orders would be filled with the exception of MSG. That to me means I had tickets. Wouldn't you think the same? I then get an email from them on Feb 25th w/ subject line saying "4-18-09 upgrade!". I almost didn't read it because I didn't want an upgrade. It looked like a ploy to get rid of the seats none of us could afford..... I had to scramble to a fax machine, just before leaving on a plane to make sure they got it before March 1st. I understand they could have just returned my MO, but I feel taken as do many other people. I think that they only had a handful of tix at the cheaper range and they should have said something sooner. I have spoken to all of my friends who mail ordered on day 1 and they ALL got this same email. I think they sent this email out way too late, they must have known on DAY 1 that they couldn't fill all of the orders, since we all mailed on day 1! At this point, I unfortunately feel that my friends and I have been taken. I think they were stuck with a bunch of higher priced seats, that probably still suck and decided to send this little email out which basically means, buy this or you're screwed. Seems like more people targeted the cheaper seats than they were expecting. I guess you should have sent in 2 money orders to ensure you got the cheap seats. The times where I see mail order work very well is when all the seats cost the same. It is much more straight forward. My point is that GDTS was trying to make sure you got tickets. I've had similar problems with GDTSTOO I sent them my credit card information twice because the first didn't go thru and got no confirmation letter or email of any kind. I've been trying impossibly to get a response about whether or not my credit card will be charged and when I can expect this to happen. They just keep saying next week when we process the orders but no date or anything. I've never seen the email you guys above are referring too. ITs been hairy and I need to know if I can pay my rent yet...WTF!
