I'm on a roller coaster and need to wipe up some tears (watching that Ani video Geo posted brought me way back <3), and now some sweat of almost-panic... I just read somewhere that they will be printing the Ticketmaster tickets (for Chicago) presently and they'll be mailed out in 10-14 days. Oof. I'm leaving town on a jet train in 15.5 days... In 1913, 58,000 veterans of the Battle of Gettysburg (from both sides) traveled back to Pennsylvania and camped on the battlefield to mark the 50th anniversary of that struggle (as well as the national holiday). In 1938, 1,800 veterans (of all the Civil War battles) again gathered to mark 75th anniversary. (Reports from the time suggest that some of the fellas at the second event were still not happy with their tent location.)
