and I still have some confetti from the Lips shows... I thought I was smart, I thought I was right I thought it better not to fight I thought there was a virtue in always being cool So when it came time to fight, I thought I'll just step aside and that the time would prove you wrong And that you would be the fool I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins, It's all a mystery Oh to fight is to defend if it's not now than tell me when Would be the time that you would stand up and be a man For to lose I could accept, but to surrender I just wept and regretted this moment Oh that I, I was the fool I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins, It's all a mystery And I don't know how a man decides what's right for his own life, It's all a mystery Cause I'm a man not a boy and there are things you can't avoid, You have to face them when you're not prepared to face them If I could, I would, but you're with him now it'd do no good I should have fought him but instead I let him- I let him take it I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins, It's all a mystery And I don't know how a man decides what right for his own life It's all a mystery

Wayne Coyne and the Lips record in Dunkirk NY where my son goes to college....he met him and had a meet n greet at Starbucks accidentally....and you are spot on....per Scotty, Wayne is one cool character, without ego or pretension...... this song was not written for him..... You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht Your hat strategically dipped below one eye Your scarf it was apricot You had one eye on the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner They'd be your partner, and... You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you Don't you? Don't You? You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive Well you said that we made such a pretty pair And that you would never leave But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee Clouds in my coffee, and... I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee Clouds in my coffee, and... Well I hear you went up to Saratoga and your horse naturally won Then you flew your lear jet up to Nova Scotia To see the total eclipse of the sun Well you're where you should be all the time And when you're not you're with Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend Wife of a close friend, and...

I've seen the Flaming Lips twice in STL. The 2nd time I dressed up as Wonder Woman and was given a backstage pass while waiting in line outside the venue. During the show Wayne was swinging his mechanic light around his head and he lost control of it and it hit the bassist in the arm and then hit wayne in the head pretty hard. The bassist had to stop playing for a second. When I went backstage to meet Wayne he had a huge goose egg on his head and probably a concussion. He told me that when she would come on tour his wife would always dress as Wonder Woman too. He was the most down to earth guy and met and shook everyones hand even though he shoud have been in the ER. The rest of the band wasn't present for that. Waiting, for the Ambulance to come Hoping that it doesn't come too late Hearing the sirens in the distance Hold on help is on the way. Mr. Ambulance Driver I'm right here beside her Though I live somehow I frown Mr. Ambulance Driver I'm not a real survivor Wishing that I was the one that wasn't here anymore The one that wasn't here anymore The one that wasn't here anymore Oh we can't trade places Our lives are strangely our own Mr. Ambulance Driver Tell me For everyone that dies Someone new is born Mr. Ambulance Driver I'm right here beside her And though I live somehow I frown Mr. Ambulance Driver I'm not a real survivor Cause wishing I was the one that Wasn't gonna be here anymore. Mr. Ambulance Driver Though I live Somehow I found Mr. Ambulance Driver I'm not a real survivor Cause wishin I was the one that wasn't here anymore The one that wasn't here anymore

Good Morning Daydreamers! The sun is shining, the weather is sweet. got the radio on...Pure Prarie League I can see why you think you belong to me, I never tried to make you think, Or let you see one thing for yourself, And now you're off with someone else and I'm alone, You see I thought I might keep you for my own. Amie, what you wanna do? I think I could stay with you, For a while maybe longer if I do. Don't you think the time is right for us to find, That all the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time, Can't you see which way we should turn together or alone, I can never see what's right or what is wrong, 'Cause that take too long to see now. Amie, what you wanna do? I think I could stay with you, For a while maybe longer if I do. Come on now, Amie, what you wanna do? I think I could stay with you, For a while maybe longer if I do. Now it's come to what you want, you've had your way, And all the things you thought before just faded into gray, And can you see that I don't know if it's you or it's me, But if it's one of us I'm sure we both will see, yeah, Won't you look at me and tell me. Amie, what you wanna do? I think I could stay with you, For a while maybe longer if I, longer if I do. Amie, what you wanna do? I think I could stay with you, For a while maybe longer if I do. I keep fallin' in and out of love with you, Fallin' in and out of love with you, Don't know what I'm gonna do, I keep fallin' in and out of love with you

Good morning America, how are you? I can still feel all your sunlight shine before the dawn First light morning feeling's got me losing so much sleep I just can't say how much I miss you when you're gone 'Cause I get a feeling something like a summer wind When you love me like a sister, then you're gone again But there's so much light shining in your eyes That you just can't help but keep a love alive Now I hear some other loving sunshine brother's Left you crying and you're all alone So dry your eyes and try and say your goodbyes 'Cause you're old enough to get back on your feel all on your own Don't you kind of get a feeling like a summer wind 'Cause he loved you like a brother, now he's gone again But there's still a lot of love light in your eyes And you sure know how to keep a man alive Well you can stand right there and tell me something's wrong It's so hard to know your problems when you're gone So, early morning riser There's not much more I can do to try and make things right If you need another sunshine brother I can be right there beside you by the early morning light And I'll forget that feeling like a summer wind And I'll probably start to think about you now and then But there's still a lot of light shining in your eyes And you still know how to keep a love alive Coffee is on..... and I've always preferred Phillips to slotted....

Hi campers and camperettes- I've had three different kind folks bring up the fact that the Sunshine Daydream thread seems to be written in code, or that they can't quite get a handle on the issues being discussed. Please keep in mind that our Bus driver and resident wit is channeling the not only the spirit of the GD in their space-jams, but also the personalities of Jack Kerouac, Hunter Thompson, Neal Cassady and the allegorical spaciness inherent in those many years of special Kool-aid tests that Tom Wolfe wrote about so eloquently back in'68. The idea is for all of us to think "out-of-the-box" as we prepare for this grand reunion, or as some might say, just get out-there with it all (in a friendly way). Also, the Merry Pranksters took a bit of a bus ride back in '64, and the spirit of those sketchy fragmented experiences and stories, birthed during that journey, are also prevalent in the various comments we are all reading. As we get closer to our destination, please know that there may be a gradual increase in the number of posts that actually make sense, and will help to guide us to a safe landing. Until then, keep your tin-foil hats on with antennas pointed in the proper direction, tighten those seat-belts and enjoy the ride. For we are not just the best at what we do, we are the only ones that do what we do. cheers- Geo-the-voice-of-reason-meister

Not withstanding my earlier characterizations, and continuing the discussion, there are many ways one can view the thoughts and the happenstance responses that find their ways onto our fine Sunshine Daydream Home Thread. For instance, within the rambling stories that weave their collective ways through these fine forum threads, there is also a discussion, a sermon, a pleading, a dream, a dance, a song or three, and a reaching out. Whether it is from a Brother or a Sister or a Father or a Mother or a Daughter or a Son, it is real...or maybe not. But guaranteed, Somebody cares about Something, be it Real or Imagined, and they are letting all of us know. Turn up the Bass, Tune the Banjo, shut up during Space, I need a ticket, Who's on first, it's important, whatever it is. So we reads, and we posts, and we explore. We share. We anticipate, we plan, we rejoice and we get saddened....hopefully, the saddened moments are brief and fleeting, and if they are not, they are somewhat lessened by the comfort our family can give. We are fed, and we feed others. We are family. Sunshine DayDream: At Once a Thread, a Home, A Couch, A Bus, A Book, a Church, a Soapbox and Thank you very much rgrgrrgr, a dining room. A Pic-i-Nic? Certainly. over there, at the SE corner of the Buckingham Fountain, in that little grove of trees. Meet-ups start as soon as you can get there, and end after the last people say adios. Bring your own everything, and a bit more for your neighbor. A Mayor? We have several, they meet here. Not unlike the park bench over at the town square in Maintown, USA, populated with those Who Make The Important Decisions, they have this place. No one is in charge, each gets to be a blowhard as the baton is passed, and all issues are carefully pondered on before a proposal is offered or a decision is made. Each is a Mayor in His/Her own right. All of us get to drive, to give advice, to give directions or ask questions or provide answers or extend a helping hand or share an encouraging word. A Horse? Now that's another issue altogether. Hey you over there with your hand up...tell us about this horse deal. Film at Eleven...thanks for staying to the end....or is it.... PS I Miss Jerry too! geopondermeister
