Cheers To Chris
Go west young man. Let me know if your logistical needs include a hotel room. No tickets for Santa Clara for me, but truth is that was the smartest option. Clear path to Chicago now, I'm happy.
I was standing in line with Mr. rrrrrgrrr
it aint over
congrats to those who made it. too bad to those who did not. your own fault who didn't even try (me). but as others have said, a much higher percentage went to fans for these shows so whatever becomes available will probably be more reasonably priced. i still can't decide if i should/can have/make the time to go even if i could score a single. i sure hope this is the hardest decision i have to make this summer :)
@mkav
Maybe it was meant to be. Think all the great shows going on in Chicago in addition to the 3 shows. Maybe just make a long weekend out of Chicago. I'm def throwing all my marbles at Chi town. I'm hitting the Rex benefit Thursday. Moe Saturday. The Jerry tribute show with Kimock, Greene, and Melvin Seals and company on Sunday afternoon. And I'm just getting started with other plans. I'm sure SC will be fun, but Chicago will be through the roof.
He travels the fastest who travels alone
I Love Santa Clara
Got lucky folks. Thank you lottery system. No view on Saturday and great seats for Sunday. Can't go wrong with sections 130 and 211. Yay.......
Peace out..........
Happy for you
Who won the lottery! Brother Adam said it just right "feeling lucky and humbled. The lovelight is bright." That is exactly how it feels!!
I am on the other side tonight - having gotten the regret email...
I might just have to keep my SC hotel reservation and go see what I see...
Don't want the back of the tshirt to be wrong!! Haha.
My heart feels tender and smarts a little, but I have faith and will see you all soon!
I just got home from work and have some catching up to do... gonna have a little snack and maybe watch a movie and breath first...
Nightzzzzzz.
Til the Morning Comes.....
Congrats to those who pulled tickets, including our own SD McFall's parents, and her brother and his wife....SC bound for now but wish to trade for Chitown ...total 8 tix over both nights....
If anyone knows of someone who will swap.....let me or McFall know....
Coffee is on, herbal tea on counter....
French toast with fresh raspberries for Kristine
Also fresh whipped cream or maple syrup if you wish....
cmon in and settle down easy....
And let's get on with the show!
@Saundra.....Polar Bear in Snow Storm was inspired by
Sgt. Pupper in my yard.....
Santa Clara Ticket Bulletin...
GM SD Family !!
You all have a very important SC Tix Bulletin in your e-mail in boxes. Please reply back to me via e-mail this morning.
And, hey now !! Cassaundra was our 1000th post - AMAZING !!
(BTW, the Dead have been in my life for 38 of my 55 years on this planet - yet I struck-out again on a legitimate way to get a ticket...go figure !!)
Cheers all !!! Check mail and let me know !!!
OUT !!!
Settle Down Easy
72 days until Cali, 78 days until Chicago. Ramble on.
re: Chi town swaps
Hopefully that translates into more SC available for those in need. Nobody bought Chicago hoping to trade for something else. Not so w/ DJ & SC.
@Simulcast
Looks like the Chicago shows will be simulcast to theaters, not to a cable pay-per-view as many were hoping. No mention of cost. No mention of Santa Clara simulcast.

@#88. deal...
I'll be selling lithos in the lot to feed my jones....
In a blizzard my 85# grateful Pyrenees gets lost except for his eyes....
He loves the cold...
@socal
May be a mistake on their part....I'd rather shake my bones in my yard than a theatre....more homes would pay more $$$$....
Oh well, not my chair, not my problem...that's what I say....
Will be debuting my new cooking show next week....on the SD channel...
Calzones just out of the oven, both meat and veggie....get em while they're hot....
Film at 11...,
Simulcast...
Given this theatre announcement, my guess is that Shapiro couldn't do a bigger deal with the cable and satellite providers for an in-home PPV.
I would have thought that to be not only ideal for the fan and consumer, but a revenue jackpot for the band and Peter.
Maybe that's coming...who knows.
I will fork out for the boxed-set DVD in blu-ray when it comes out though :-)
If I can stream Phil ...
From the Cap for each show, this is a no brainier...
Group Think
Perhaps they are going for the group experience? That is only speculation, but I would rather go to a cinema with 500 people and awesome acoustics, than sit at home eating cheesies and beer...wait...beer, no, most cinemas sell beer now...thank you VIP cinemas!
Agree to disagree
Group experiences happen in the home as well and in a less restrictive and constrictive way....
Can't speak for your entertainment room, but my acoustics don't suck and I'm wired inside and out....
I would NEVER spend Independence Day at a movie theater...
But I won't have to...
And they could do both....
My Acoustics
My acoustics SUCK - I don't even own a TV. I sold my turntable years ago to move to Europe (amp too)
As for the group experience - definitely, but I am a loner in a sea of people asking why I even listen to a band that arguably died in the late 70's...I caught a lot of flack for saying I even wanted to go to a Dead concert. People don't get it and they look at you like you are crazy when you say something, so, finding a group that would start to emulate a concert experience...that would be tough (for me at least)
And you sir, were one of the very lucky ones (of course you know this) - also my 'independence day' read Canada had already passed so - meh...
Following The Money
Possible that Theaters will announce advance ticket sales in order to assure sell out. Once this has been achieved then market can be reassessed to determine if home viewing is viable. Living 250 miles from the nearest theater that would even consider showing FTW, I have been down this exact same road many times.
Hey prop
You are always welcome to the Buff...
I learned a long time ago to let my freak flag fly
At work at home everywhere
Got ostracized, criticized and alienated...
But you know what....
It has freed me, so now I know who my friends are...and more importantly who aren't.....
I agree the Dead culture is an acquired taste and much left of center.....
And a special thank you to the almighty great and powerful Wizard of...DA...geoknowwho...
My path is mine and mine alone, your mileage may vary...
So please don't follow in my steps...you might not like where you end up.....
But goddammit, I'm a deadhead and I MISS JERRY!
Can I get a witness?
@properlejdi
You just described where I live. Lucky to be 4 or 5 Deadheads on this side of the state. Had to enjoy the band all by myself. Amazingly one of the others is a district judge.
Thanks buddy
no longer climbing up the Eiffel Tower
and nobody f*cks with da Jezus
Re Post
I am reposting this since it is pure awesome...seriously check this space out...oh to walk these hallowed halls

Oh, What Now????
T-Horse told me that if and when they offer Home PPV it's going to be by lottery too. This could be a real no hitter. If my luck is really this bad, how come I have a spam folder full of all the wealth I've inherited, sweepstakes I've won, and third world business opportunities I've been offered? If I had not procrastinated so much I would be as wealthy as Bill Gates, or even Shapiro. Then I could have acquired all the suites at both stadiums and miracle'd all the Sunshine Daydreamers with a VIP experience. My bad. Stupid Horse.
SC Tix...
I am taking names of people who have been shut out of all 5 shows...I have a short list of people who...well...you can guess where this is going...but I want to see who here ISN'T getting in to any shows...be honest people
No evil thoughts of reselling either...actually you can't - I will HAND them to you (with a beer or two) at the show! :)
Now - back to trying to make a dove tail joint...
I can't make cabinets or drawers?
Hmmm now where to put my w**d? Kidding - I was always a quitter...wait I can't even quote Beatles lyrics (Glass Onion)
@catwoman....oh crap....
How do you know the Pyr?
Seriously..... It's a magnificent beast...
nobody I ever met besides my family knows what a Pyr is?
I am not worthy oh queen of Grateful Pyrenees!
and it's cuz I am grateful to have one in my life.....
:-)
BooBoo buddy
Sir yes sir!
Thanks for checking in to the circus....
Hope you got some French toast and coffee for breakfast, followed by a little humble pie....you're all caught up.....enjoy the rest of the second act...
How aboot a beer, eh?
Molson, Labatt and some Brador...high test Molson....eh
Hey Boo I know that river....
Relieved myself there on many occasion....
After a few Genny Cream Ales.....
Fine water....
BTW avoid the Labatt Maple brew.....woof....
we all have
releived ourselfs, maple brew doesn't even start to sound like a good idea, now a vanilla porter is a much better brew
Genny Cream Ales!
Killed countless brain cells on that stuff in college in upstate NY.
