Great Birthday trip up to the Nick
I remember this place was such a blast- a very FRIENDLY venue- everyone just seemed so cool up there! Even the cops seemed mellow.

What a difference full GB sound makes. Having the 2 remote trucks on hand for 32 days for the 1990 Spring Tour was a smart move. They captured the shows in the best quality available for 1990 which still stands today, simple full GB Stereo. These reels were then carefully stored, sometimes a single track would slip-out, but the bulk of them fortunately were crafted for this release 25 years later. I always purchase the actual disc over a download then burn HD copies to play in the car. I then store the actual disc in my vault so the box stays lookin'good. I don't buy for the the extras but they are nice to have in pristine condition for my own enjoyment. I remember so much about this tour and the 1989 tour. It was a time when the band was peaking musically. They had almost 125 songs to bring-up and 10 Other Ones to break-out. During the '89 tour I was heavily taping for our crew. 100 min maxell tapes arrived, (DAT next year) I had a foot locker of masters that I packed into my VW Golf when I followed the band to Miami and stayed. These recordings are better than any other Grateful Dead shows I ever heard before. The tracks are simple. Jerry's guitar, Brent's B-3 organ and Mickey Hart's percussions own the right speaker. Bobby's guitar and Billy's drums from the left speaker. Phil's clean bass notes and all vocals image nicely between both speakers. When played on a disc transport/ cd player that has an HDCD indicator that lights-up when these are played sez Party-On Cub. Cheers
