    dogfish is really good
Dogifsh 60 and 90 minute IPAs are pretty stellar. 120 minute is a bit overrated but still good. too bad this one does not sound too good. thanks for the warnings. however, i will buy 1 out of curiosity I'm sure

    American Bummer
I bought two bottles. Not impressed. It didn't have anything that I like about the other Dogfishhead beers. Might be good for cooking! Sometime hitting Carl's Jr. after a show was better than a Granola Bar!! I should have saved them unopened!!

I just picked up the American Beauty bottle of beer and now decide I must treck back to the store, one to drink and one for the shelf. There is one store near me that has some. They are limited and tucked in back. I just called he has 5 of the 750ml bottles left. Everybelly he said has had the same dilemma... To drink or not to drink...o life is too short for easy choices...buy many drink much.

I can't imagine a beer from Delaware being any good. Why isn't it in KC? I'll stick with Odell IPA and Schlafly A and T.

Dogfish Head makes some pretty good beers, but this is not one of them. I bought a bottle at a local grocery store here in Virginia and had it over the weekend. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. Personally, I prefer fairly traditional IPAs. Those made with fruits, granoloa, and other unusual ingredients usually fall short of the mark. Just my opinion but I also agree with the sentiment that east coast beers just don't tend to be as good as those from other parts of the country (full disclosure, I grew up in Kansas City but lived in the west and northwest much of my life until moving to Virginia about 14 years ago).

I'm truly surprised to see the comments on this thread........I consider myself a knowledgeable beer consumer and have always enjoyed about 90% of what dogfish head has to offer. That said, to see all the comments saying this beer is marginal at best is truly surprising. I thought it was good, not spectacular, but definitely a solid brew and worthy of the bottle containing it. I too collect all things with a steal your face on them so I may be a lil partisan here but c'mon folks?!? This is a pretty good beer, certainly on par with what we have come to expect from Dogfish head at this point. To dismiss a "beer from Delaware" is to miss out on an exceptional quality brewery offering exceptional quality beers, no matter where they may originate from. I was delighted to find this beer and was not at all disappointed drinking it. Can't wait for the Chicago shows!!!

Try the Bitches Brew by Dogfishhead, a nice porter, way better than American Beauty

...to compare between a porter and an IPA. Well I guess, they're both wet!

Was a novelty last year....bought a few this past December....mehhhh.... Prefer Palate Wrecker from Green Flash or Dorado/Sculpin from Ballast....Bitches Brew is a consistent potent potable....

It's a nice recommendation that I will try. I just recently have been noticing Ballast Point brewery products showing up in my neck of the woods. I always like an IPA, and these will be a much more fair comparison to American Beauty (which I like for it's uniqueness) than a porter like Bitches Brew (even though the ABV's are the same, I guess), which I will try as well. Unfortunately, I don't think I have seen any Green Flash products around here. But, I will keep my eyes peeled!

Dogfish was at the untapped festival in Ft Worth on Saturday but no American Beauty available. Great time, great beers, an eclectic group of musicians throughout the day, and some nasty weather to close the festivity Saturday night. I love these sampling events but I have a hard time recalling all the great brews and I'm not much at taking notes. HOWEVER...a couple did really stand out: Ballast Point Habenero Sculpin was maybe the most flavorful beer I've ever had. I don't think I could drink an entire glass because the habenero was very present...but, boy was it tasty! split a bottle with a friend. or not, but try it. Peticolas Brewery Sledge Hammer: Triple Imperial Red. double digit ABV but very smooth. Often these high ABVs have a certain burn, but not the Sledge Hammer. There were many other really fine beers: Deep Ellum Dream Crusher double IPA; Green Flash...I forget which one but it was some kind of double IPA; Santa Fe Java stout. My son really liked the Boulevard sour. I'm not into the sours. Many fine farmhouse ales, especially Firestone's Opal.

Love that beer...limited release....and yes you could kill a bottle...need some dark chocolate....gotta pace n balance.... Learned that in New Mexico sipping hot chili pepper red wine...with a touch of chocolate on the side...it mellows your mind.... Green Flash does Road Warrior 2xIPA....badass.. If you have a chance do the SoCal Breweries in and around La Jolla....
