You woke up this morning, got yourself a gunMama always said you'd be the chosen one She said, "You're one in a million, you've got to burn to shine But you were born under a bad sign with a blue moon in your eyes" You woke up this morning, all the love has gone Your papa never told you about right and wrong But you're looking good, baby, I believe you're feeling fine (Shame about it) Born under a bad sign with a blue moon in your eyes You woke up this morning, the world turned upside down Thing's ain't been the same since the blues walked into town But you're one in a million, you've got that shotgun shine Born under a bad sign with a blue moon in your eyes When you woke up this morning everything you had was gone By half past ten your head was going ding-dong Ringing like a bell from your head down to your toes Like a voice telling you there was something you should know Last night you were flying but today you're so low Ain't it times like these that make you wonder if you'll ever know The meaning of things as they appear to the others Wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers Don't you wish you didn't function, wish you didn't think Beyond the next paycheck and the next little drink Well, you do so make up your mind to go on 'Cos when you woke up this morning everything you had was gone When you woke up this morning, when you woke up this morning When you woke up this morning, mama said you'd be the chosen one When you woke up this morning, when you woke up this morning When you woke up this morning, you got yourself a gun right back atcha Stanley....stress of a trip has taken its toll....here in da Buff Might as well just smile, Smile, SMILE! When I woke up this morning, things were lookin' badSeem like total silence was the only friend I had Bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down and won And it was twelve o'clock before I realized That I was havin', no fun Ah, but fortunately I have the key to escape reality And you may see me today with an illegal smile It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun Last time I checked my bankroll, it was gettin' thin Sometimes it seems like the bottom Is the only place I've been Chased a rainbow down a one-way street, dead end And all my friends turned out to be insurance salesmen Ah, but fortunately I have the key to escape reality And you may see me today with an illegal smile It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun Well, I sat down in my closet with all my overalls Tryin' to get away from all the ears inside my walls I dreamed the police heard Everything I thought, what then? Well I went to court and the judge's name was Hoffman Ah, but fortunately I have the key to escape reality And you may see me today with an illegal smile It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun Well done, hot dog bun, my sister's a nun -- with love from Maywood Park

Folks its a beautiful day and one closer to showtime. I can feel the anticipation rising take it away Carly We can never know about the days to come But we think about them anyway, yay And I wonder if I'm really with you now Or just chasin' after some finer day Anticipation, anticipation Is makin' me late Is keepin' me waitin' And I tell you how easy it feels to be with you And how right your arms feel around me But I, I rehearsed those lines just late last night When I was thinkin' about how right tonight might be Anticipation, anticipation Is makin' me late Is keepin' me waitin' And tomorrow we might not be together I'm no prophet and I don't know nature's ways So I'll try and see into your eyes right now And stay right here 'cause these are the good old days (These are the good old days) And stay right here 'cause these are the good old days (These are the good old days) (These are the good old days) (These are the good old days) (These are.....the good old days)

18 hours to go....let's get through this.... and I'll raise you 2.... Saw the lady face to face Who rules the joker, commands the ace I just rolled in from the golden state Just a dusty spoke on the wheel of fate What'll you raise? What'll you raise? What'll you raise to take my hand? The hand I hold is the hand I play Who'd have ever thought they would fall this way Can't see me if you won't call And it might be a stone buff after all What'll you raise? What'll you raise? What'll you raise to take my hand? What'll you raise? What'll you raise? What'll you raise to see my hand? If there is heaven Those are the priests Who can deliver at all? Is there a gaping or any safekeeping? If not, how far can we fall? Far can we fall? East of the sun and the west of the moon Darling hold on, I'll be coming soon Maybe our love was meant to be The only solution is to wait and see What'll you raise? What'll you raise? What'll you raise to take my hand? What'll you raise? What'll you raise? What'll you raise to take my hand?

Back in the 80's, my dad took the entire video of my brother's wedding with the camera upside down. The last thing on the recording is his grumbly baritone growling ... "godammit, you mean I've had this fucking thing..." One of my life's true precious memories. Man oh man, I miss that man.
