....get it myself from the mountain stream...... Took a boat Sunday, down by the sea It just felt so nice, you and me We didn't have a problem or a care And all around was silence, everywhere You are the reason I was born Be with you through all seasons I'll always hear you when you call We'll keep the love light shining Through each night and day A lonely life behind me Oh what a change you've made So down here on the ocean we will stay Went through a lot of changes Turned a lot of pages When I took a boat Sunday To know you as I know you now That is all I need And we will get along somehow If we both believe So down here on the ocean we will stay Went through a lot of changes Turned a lot of pages When I took a boat Sunday Supertramp was the shit......

@ Hey now, we got us a party goin'
She was a be-bop baby on a hard day's nightShe was hangin' on Johnny, he was holdin' on tight I could feel her coming from a mile away There was no use talking, there was nothing to say When the band began to play and play And we danced like a wave on the ocean, romanced We were liars in love and we danced Swept away for a moment by chance And we danced and danced and danced I met my be-bop baby at the Union Hall She could dance all night and shake the paint off the wall But when I saw her smile across a crowded room Well I knew we'd have to leave the party soon As the band began to play out of tune And we danced like a wave on the ocean, romanced We were liars in love and we danced Swept away for a moment by chance And we danced and danced and danced The endless beat, she's walkin' my way Hear the music fade when she says Are we getting too close, do we dare to get closer The room is spinning, she whispers my name And we danced like a wave on the ocean, romanced We were liars in love and we danced Swept away for a moment by chance And we danced and danced And we danced like a wave on the ocean, romanced We were liars in love and we danced Swept away for a moment by chance And we danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced And we danced And we danced And we danced And we danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced and danced

Very good song, totally encapsulates our sentiments. If they dont already know, there's no explaining it. Just take those old records off the shelf I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself Today's music ain't got the same soul I like that old time rock 'n' roll Don't try to take me to a disco You'll never even get me out on the floor In ten minutes I'll be late for the door I like that old time rock 'n' roll Still like that old time rock 'n' roll That kind of music just soothes the soul I reminisce about the days of old With that old time rock 'n' roll Won't go to hear 'em play a tango I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul There's only one sure way to get me to go Start playing old time rock 'n' roll Call me a relic, call me what you will Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill Today's music ain't got the same soul I like that old time rock 'n' roll Still like that old time rock 'n' roll That kind of music just soothes the soul I reminisce about the days of old With that old time rock 'n' roll

1976 John Miles Rebel LP....aka Music as released in Europe The song Music encapsulates everything we are talking about...think it's on YouTube somewhere.... The original studio recording had backing orchestration..... Beautiful song....saw him at the Palladium NYC 1982 with Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Gary Wright opening.... Music was my first love and it will be my last. Music of the future and music of the past. To live without my music would be impossible to do. In this world of troubles, my music pulls me through. Instrumental Music was my first love and it will be last. Music of the future and music of the past and music of the past and music of the past. So true. Music is my savior; it can take you through the best and the worst times of life. Music is like the beat of my heart. Without it I cannot survive. So much can be said with a song. I know some who have never had a song in their heart...and it seems a sad existence to me. I really cannot imagine a life without music. Let sweet songs fill the air. She calls out to the man on the street "Sir, can you help me? It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep, Is there somewhere you can tell me?" He walks on, doesn't look back He pretends he can't hear her Starts to whistle as he crosses the street Seems embarrassed to be there Oh think twice, it's another day for You and me in paradise Oh think twice, it's just another day for you, You and me in paradise She calls out to the man on the street He can see she's been crying She's got blisters on the soles of her feet Can't walk but she's trying Oh think twice... Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do Oh lord, there must be something you can say You can tell from the lines on her face You can see that she's been there Probably been moved on from every place 'Cos she didn't fit in there Oh think twice...

If more people would appreciate music, they'd see the common bond between us all..the world would have to be a better place...less hate, prejudice, war, terrorism..... I wanna feel, feel the love that music brings And I wanna be a piece of life in all livin' things I know what's in my heart and my soul tells me to sing I'm gonna be thankful for this feeling that music brings Oh, it brings Now I never thought selfishness could tear such a hole And I never realised how we could be one and still all alone I'm gonna get myself up and know I'm gonna get up and sing I'm gonna be thankful for this feeling that music brings Oh, it brings Now I'm so thankful I've heard a voice deep inside Saying hallelujah and let music be your guide Now I never thought I could feel a sadness that could bring me so down And I never thought there'd be a time where my heart had no song I'm gonna get myself up and know I'm gonna get up and sing I'm gonna be thankful for this feeling that music brings Oh, it brings And I'm so grateful I've heard a voice deep inside Singing hallelujah, oh there's no more need to cry So I'm gonna pick myself up, up of the ground I'm gonna get up and sing, I'm gonna sing a joyous song And I'm gonna sing hallelujah for this love I feel inside I'm gonna sing hallelujah let music be your guide Oh, your guide I'm gonna sing hallelujah, oh I'm gonna sing Hallelujah, for this feeling that music brings Oh I've gotta sing now Oh I'm gonna sing a joyous song Oh yes, I know that I'm thankful

I have early memories of this video. Did you say Bonzo... I must've dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by a million screams But I can hear the marching feet They're moving into the street. Now did you read the news today They say the danger's gone away But I can see the fire's still alight There burning into the night. There's too many men Too many people Making too many problems And not much love to go round Can't you see This is a land of confusion. This is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth living in. Ooh Superman where are you now When everything's gone wrong somehow The men of steel, the men of power Are losing control by the hour. This is the time This is the place So we look for the future But there's not much love to go round Tell me why, this is a land of confusion. This is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth living in. I remember long ago - Ooh when the sun was shining Yes and the stars were bright All through the night And the sound of your laughter As I held you tight So long ago - I won't be coming home tonight My generation will put it right We're not just making promises That we know, we'll never keep. Too many men There's too many people Making too many problems And not much love to go round Can't you see This is a land of confusion. Now this is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth fighting for. This is the world we live in And these are the names we're given Stand up and let's start showing Just where our lives are going to.

Back in the 80's, my dad took the entire video of my brother's wedding with the camera upside down. The last thing on the recording is his grumbly baritone growling ... "godammit, you mean I've had this fucking thing..." One of my life's true precious memories. Man oh man, I miss that man.
