I’ve also got the fever with plans for Noblesville, Alpine x2, and Warren’s Jerry tribute in suburban Chicago (plus a couple of Phish shows at Wrigley). It’s unrealistic to expect FTW-level anticipation and I wouldn’t mind some Spring shows to fill the gap but there’s a lot of great music coming our way. The sun is shining and da bus rolls on.

Hey now, love yous guys. It's been one helluva ride so far. Cant wait to see what the boys have in store for us this summer. You've been as constant as a northern star, the brightest light that shines...It's been you, Daydreamers...right down the line...

Well said, rrrrgrrrr! The last year really shot by, but what a year it was! Certainly July was the highlight but the run up to the shows was a unique and enlightening experience that displays the power of a common spirit that comes from unlikely events and unexpected sources. Just the other day I was talking to my brother about Cichlids--a convo that may have never happened without the influence of Greg. How many times have I started a sentence with "last summer in Chicago" or exclaimed "you should have seen this rainbow that appeared out of nowhere"? Hopefully, there will be some reconnection this summer on tour with D & Co. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to meet all of you and look forward to turning Too next year!

It's that time of the year, I've been itching for a Spring Tour, but it is not to be. Thirty three years ago tonight the boys closed out their run at the Knick, played their last Casey Jones there on 3/27. Thirty six years ago Branford sat in at Nassau, and oh what an Eyes that was. (Apologies to David Byrne). I can't help but relive those moments in my head. Like it was yesterday. The Daydreamers bus has fewer riders these days, especially since the hype of FTW is firmly planted in the rear view and slowly fading out of sight. But the road goes on forever. I'll give credit to Brother Gregg for that gem. It's kinda cool that kind folks at dead.net continue to acknowledge and affirm our journey. We even made that last newsletter. Who'd a thunk it? So what say we put away our dynguses and pussy willows for another year and raise a glass to Jerry and the boys. Here's hoping for many more years of health, magic, fun and friendship. If you get the inkling, feel free to take the wheel and you know the company on ba dus is always cool and the coffee is always hot. Hey Sarge, I got one more silver dollar, so head over to that jukebox. “You know what I want to hear. … You played it for her, you can play it for me!” “…Well, I don’t think I can remember…” “If she can stand it, I can! Play it!” (Sarge plays ‘As Time Goes By.’) Here's looking at you, kid. Ahhhhh, you know, this is a damn fine cup of coffee! :-)

We need humor. Without humor - No Valby... Without Valby - The man from Nantucket eats popsicles... More consumed popsicles - More used popsicle sticks litter the earth... Earth doesn't need any more garbage dumped on her... It's environmental. Dinner specials on the menu tomorrow night - Choose your bird.

So many trinkets, so many deserved recipients (friends, family, wives, strangers stopping strangers). So little time to do what's right. But we try to fight the fight to the best of our abilities. If we stumble or make a mistake, we pick ourselves back up and do it again... We are humans being... ...and I am Klangstone, somewhat dysfunctional and strange family member/mayor but I miss Jerry, Ron, Keith, Brent and Vince. HAPPY FRIDAY ALL! MAY YOUR DAY BE AS BRIGHT AS THE BLUE SUN. Hey rrrrgrrrr, you got that bus warmed up and the coffee cooled down yet????

So I'm sitting here at work, listening to some Jerry and once again I'm reminded why I love his playing so much. The sincerity, tenacity, and authenticity of his playing just floors me sometimes. Every push, pull, slide, or bend of a string means something. Trey better deliver. I'll be smuggling tomatoes into Soldier Field just in I need to add some vegetables to some noodling. I'm hoping for a 3 course meal with dessert though. And them ain't no rotten tomotoes from the back of the dus either, but maybe some leftover picnic goodies. Like Ma always says, waste not, want not. Home is where the heart is.

Totes, you look ravishing this fine morning..... Hit me with a double shot of your fine brew.... The hint of hazelnut is floating my boat right about now.... Spent last night reminiscing with long lost friends, and ex's (not from Texas) and singin... Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end, We'd sing and dance forever and a day.... We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days..... They're ok the last days of may, I'll be breathing dry air I'm leaving soon, the others are already there You wouldn't be interested in coming along, instead of staying here They say the west is nice this time of year, that's what they say Hey Stella....love your Moontan ....

Congratulations....to you and yours.... ok....follow the bouncing bee....and sing along.... with Peggy Lee Yes, it's a good day for singing a song, and it's a good day for moving along; Yes, it's a good day, how could anything be wrong, A good day from morning' till night Yes, it's a good day for shining your shoes, and it's a good day for losing the blues; Everything to gain and nothing' to lose, A good day from morning' till night I said to the Sun, "Good morning sun Rise and shine today" You know you've gotta get going If you're gonna make a showin' And you you've got the right of way. 'Cause it's a good day for paying your bills; And it's a good day for curing your ills, So take a deep breath and throw away the pills; 'Cause it's a good day from morning' till night.

I was at that Nassau Run! I'll check it out. I read your previous post as well as Mad Swan,...I would have grabbed the 7/3 myself, however I'm strapped. Like Mad Swan, My second oldest is graduating on 6/18. So Congrats Swan, It's absolutely a milestone. However, less than a week after that I'm heading to California and have to watch all of my Guineas,..or there will be none left to clink! I sometimes wish this was happening next year for budget reasons,..but then I may not have met everyone, so I just keep telling myself, It'll all be OK!! GOB will provide! LOL.

Out on the road I chanced to see a car (not a cadillac) with a Dead emblem on it, and I wanted to send them a greeting (our car being "straight"). It occurred to me that we should have a hand signal to identify kindred spirits. Something obvious, as a salute between Heads. Would it work to make a Jerry-hand, to raise the hand with the middle finger kept half way down? And then the symbolism hit me: that gesture is the opposite of the signal you would send by raising the middle finger toward another person.

morning kids....welcome to the working week...I know it don't thrill ya, I hope it don't kill ya... less than one month to SC and a bit more to Chitown Coffee is on...breakfast blend and a double dark roast... time to put a nickel in that jukebox.... There are people in your life who've come and gone, They let you down, you know they've hurt your pride. You better put it behind you; 'cause life goes on. You keep carryin' that anger, it'll eat you up inside..... I've been tryin' to get down to the heart of the matter but my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter but I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness even if, even if you don't love me anymore.
