    @Fedrd
    Well my friend, everyone's entitled to their opinion and that's what these forums are all about. And with opinions come the point counter point... I'm two years behind you @ 55 years of age and for 38 of my 55 I've loved the music. While I didn't make the SC shows, the build-up and ultimate delivery of the Chicago experience (all three shows) completely exceeded my expectations. And I mean all aspects but most notably, the waves and waves of incredible emotions all three evenings all generated by the music. I'd be surprised if you felt the energy and re-experienced the scene in Chicago over that long weekend if you didn't feel like it was "just like the good ole days." Because that was my take-away...and it was a glorious "Fare Thee Well" where every band member embraced the moment to its fullest.

    Sorry you didn't appreciate the effort...it was not 1967, 1972, 1974, 1977 or anything but 2015....agreed the flow was not what we were used to but the love was in the air with the music and more importantly the crowd vibe....the music has always been the core but the experience was always larger than the seamless segues. If your first show was 72, you are not what you were then, mine 73...I am not either...so why hold the boys to a standard we as fans can't live up to....Chicago was magic pure and simple, cheap....no, but a memory I will take to my grave....absolutely.... I walked away with 40 new friends.....thanks to 12+ hours of music and much kindness, acceptance and generosity..... you know our love will not fade away ..... mmmmmbop bop, bop bop!!!!!

    Dead? in Chicao
    I have no idea how old you are, or when you first started going to shows, But I am a 57 year old male.and went to my first show in 1972 at the Nassau Coliseum. I was fortunate and able to attend quite a few shows from a wide assortment of years.I would not go to any of the 5 shows for a variety of reasons, most importantly I did not think the shows would be worth it. I felt in many ways, that they kind of mailed it in. They were incredibly under rehearsed, leading to sloppy shows and awkward transitions. The shows had no flow and Trey was totally lost. Obviously, there were going to be great moments, but they were few and far between. For the most part, the set lists did not make sense and they played some of their weakest songs ie Built to Last, West LA etc. Hornsby was nothing like he was in 90' when he joined and the drummers did the shows as if blindfolded. It was great that you loved it, but these shows will not age well and it was a pretty shitty job considering the significance. Listen to New Years 2002-03 Other Ones show and you will clearly see what I mean.

I think I speak for all of us here @ dead.net: Our kindest thoughts and prayers (whatever your affiliation or lack thereof) go out to the victims and families of victims of the floods in the south Texas area and surrounded areas. May you find some peace in your loss and hope for a speedy recovery from this disaster... :-(

Sure many of us second that one klangstone. Being from Cape Cod all of my family lives here yet my sister just took a temp job in Dallas. Has us on edge a bit as if life doesn't to begin with.

I wonder if the spinners will be in Chi-town or Santa Clara. Jerry always thought they were a little weird.

Thank you, Mr. K. I understand about not encouraging trolls by feeding them attention, which makes them stronger. Conversely, as in the physical world, ignoring jerks turns down their energy and often makes them go away *if* you haven't been insulting. Sometimes I have a problem with that :-) I wasn't apologizing for his sake, it was for my sake. I had been a jerk, and it's good to own that — maybe it can undo some of the insult. At the least, make it less likely to happen in the future. Man, I'm way up to see people I haven't seen in 20 years... Is it really you?... No way! God, remember that Merriweather show where it rained so hard the creek flooded, and Bob lost four sheets when the water came up over his pockets :-( How about those free balloons in the Laney College parking lot before the St. Patty's day show at HJK? The Greek show in '87 where they broke out "Watchtower", Jerry pushing the riff harder and harder until it just came apart in his face...Yow! Folks may be surprised at what Trey chooses to do, and not to do, with those pesky mandatory "iconic" Dead songs. I had barely heard of Trey Anastasio when he and Page McConnell sat in with Phil and friends at the first show Phil played after his liver transplant. My impression of Trey was, he had an uncommon ability that separates the jammers from the wankers: he knew how to listen. Yes, I'll be disappointed if they don't play Dark Star, Stella Blue, Box of Rain... It's a surprisingly long list, what did Weir send Trey, 66 songs? For me, it's about the songs as a structure for improvisation, and about the kind people, and the memories held within the music all these years like genies in a bottle...and saying "how do you do?" before we're left behind.

Was just listening to 1990-6-16 at Shoreline, and it made me wonder. Do you think we'll be hearing Brent songs? We Can Run would be nice. I Will Take You Home? Those songs seem to have died with Brent. Can anyone else pull them off?

"A limited amount of single-day tickets to all three #Dead50 shows at Soldier Field in Chicago will be released on Friday, June 5 at 12PM EDT. There will be a two ticket limit per show, and sales will occur on-line only." The above is at: www.dead50.net No changes on the Ticketmaster site as of 6/2/15 @ 2:30PM PDT. Good luck to those of us that still don't have Chicago tickets. As for everyone that does have Chicago tickets already, please be kind and stay away from Ticketmaster on Friday and let those of us without tickets get them. Thank You.

I agree with TCarr. If you have tickets, no need to ping Ticketmaster to see the ticket options. Let those who need tickets use the bandwidth. It will likely be a typical TM cluster when a large demand event goes on sale, so take a breath and good luck!

Also received email for parking passes. Only ticket holders to shows will be allowed to park in lots. You must show parking pass and event tickets when parking. I sure hope all the good vendors have tickets!!??!! This will make it difficult for many I am sure!! Still very exciting to get more news and I am thinking this must mean tickets are in the mail????!!!!!

Gorgeous tickets in hand. Anyone heard about the stage set up? wondering if side/behind the stage will be the gems. Have sat behind stage for many GD shows and the monitors for the band had a sweet sound.

This whole thing has been pins and needles since day one. I am patiently, and anxiously, waiting for my mail order. I only ordered for one night, and put any. I have no idea which night I will get tickets for, so I might try TM, but i agree with others here who say if you have tickets, don't clog the system. I have yet to get the e-mail that zepthompson got. Oh please be in my mail box before TM sale on Friday, then i won't have to bother with that fiasco. Thank you Jerry

Trade only offer: 2 pair of Santa Clara Tix for both shows, if you want parking, I have to know by the 5th. These are lottery Tix, Sections 409, 411. What I need, in order. Dave's Picks 1, sealed, Winterland '77 Box, no Bonus disc needed, does not need to be new,Dave's Picks 4, sealed. Numbered CD's are preferable. I bring a bunch to the table. I have a sealed RT 2011 Bonus CD, Spring '77 Box, RT, Vol. 4 Complete. Here's the deal. The DP's are for my personal sealed archive. It's not about the money, unless it is to you. Yes, I could buy these. But, I have goods to trade if someone is interested. Know, I'd never look to make $$$ on the tickets.
