    I miss WXRT, Chicago's Finest Rock. At one time, you could have heard any and all of these tunes in a day's mix from the old 'XRT. The Dead Hour on weekends, the Sunday-night Un-Concert. The award-winning News at Noon. Ken Nordine's Word Jazz, for goodness sakes. They played anything -- absolutely anything that was interesting. Even if it was CRAP, you didn't really care, because they never, ever played the same song twice in one day, sometimes not in the same week or month. Who cares if they played Linda Ronstadt or Spandeux Ballet, as long as they followed it with Frank Zappa, Talking Heads, Little Feat or the Cure, eh? (No disrespect to Ms. Ronstadt -- a fine set of pipes if there ever was, so sad to see her lose her voice.) I wouldn't know what the heck a Wild Tchoupitoulas was without WXRT. Then, Westinghouse bought them. Then, CBS bought them. *sigh* The worst part is that it's still the best radio station in Chicago. Great connection to local and live music, but oh, the play list gets old nowadays. Good new stuff (can 'ya say Shakey Graves?) An occasional nugget, but mostly corporate crap, played six or seven times a day. Even great new stuff, like that new Beck tune, is overplayed and old in a week. Most days I don't even bother to turn it on.

One for any or all nights. I love my no-view seats. It gets me in the building, and I'll always remember the moment Ticketmaster said "You're going to the Grateful Dead!" Because of that moment I TREASURE my sweet sweet no-view seats. I have abstained from selling EVEN ONE of my tickets for over face value, much less for several hundred dollars as someone close to me suggested I do in March (they don't know). That way I would have been able to afford plane tickets or acomodations (sp). Rent, etc. "I can't do that" I said. Still. I would part with and sell at face value one of my tickets that I am grateful for, if I could get a golden ticket for one night or two at one of the lower prices. That would be alright! Just. You know. Putting it out there. I did finally send good 'ol E an email. Throw my hat in the ring. It's a little late but you never know. You just never can tell... Alright. has any daydreamer received and email or there tickets yet . Maybe I missed it in a post . I have asked several of the people I know in Ma. who got gdts tickets and no one has gotten any news as of last night. We think they might be going out in batches such as our notification of hitting lotto.Yes I so want to hold my tickets in hand just like a kid at Christmas

King of the Road.... Not here in NY....but told the merry mailman what to look for....he's a head as well, so he has a vested interest.... Don't worry, be happy. I think the GDTS folks are working hard and getting out "batches" of emails and tickets. I'm thinking everyone will hear something over the next week or 2 rather than a single broadcast announcement (until all is said and done of course). Not that my word is any consolation and won't keep you from stalking your mailman everyday.

Games people play you take it or you leave it things that they say, aren't right If I promised you the moon and the stars would you believe me? Games people play in the middle of the night Although I am not big on party games, I have no where else to be than at the pic-a-nic until we head over to Soldier, so whatever we do to pass the time and have fun, I'm all for it. .....pulling the dus over at the next rest stop....time to stretch, relieve ourselves, have a cold one....water, milk...uh huh, sure it is.... ice coffee, cerveza....etc....this space is getting hot and not in a good way....whilst you romp and frolic in the fields of opportunity I will be seeking a fresh shot of refrigerant for our dus's AC....as lately it's been blowing mostly hot air...and when we began this grand crusade it was cool as a cucumber.... Rest stop up ahead....smoke 'em if you got 'em.... Oh I see we crossed the Alabama state line.... Oh mama, could this really be the end? To be stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again..... and Mr. Mayor....I know.... Love that two stepping son of a Bee! Just got done talking with Gomer Pyle, the attendant at yonder fill station....says refrigerant's gonna be a couple of days, and he found a bent Johnson rod under the hood as well...gonna be awhile....I'll let you know when it's safe to board.....til then, talk amongst yourselves...

Pass the milk. And I tried to post a link here yesterday from Amazon for delivery of those elusive special edition Reese's Oreos. Even suggested we could get drone delivery to Buckingham Fountain. But the link to Amazon apparently breaks the laws of the Dead.net boards...It just keeps getting tougher to keep it light... Ho Gawks!

received my tickets in Dallas-Ft Worth area today...woo hoo. i think donna and plant would be...interesting...midpoint between complete cacophony and sublime harmony. actually, i REALLY enjoy Plant's Band of Joy and prefer it to the Plant/Krauss collaboration, which is also really good. BoJ's pounding kettle drums, mandolin and buddy miller's guitar are sweet together.

Valiant effort here in da Buff, 3 laptops each clicked at 12:00pm est, each for different day...bupkis..... 2 of 3 at 12:12 pm less than 1 minute and squat.... well back to the mines for me.... Later kids.... All together now.... The wheels on the screens go round and round...ahhh sh!t.... 100 of bottles of beer on the wall....in a round.... Morning Stella! Have some coffee... :-)

One of ours.... Rosalie McFall's parents are old heads, shut out MO and TM, got SC but can't make it....just scored 2 for 7/4/15 sec 322...... the rrrrrgrrrrr extended family gonna represent....and ever so grateful for ba dus....and the company.... quick update....freon recharged, hot air no longer blowin in the wind.... Mr. Mayor had his Johnson rod fixed.... Got a full tank of gas.... Come on pretty mama, let's get on the road again...... Hi Ho Silver.......Away....
