Hey, I hope things are warming up for y'ous all (or is that all y'all, this southern thing gets confusing). I used to hail from your parts and went to college up there. It is slightly warmer where I'm at now.

If Napoleon was right when he said that armies (including peaceful ones like Sunshine Daydreamers) travel on their stomachs, and if you can trust an out-of-towner, especially one from Texiz, here's an option that's 2.5 miles/5 minutes from Soldier Field that according to today's issue of USA Today offers the "Best Sandwich in the World": http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/03/ricobenes-chicago-best-sandwich-in-the-… http://www.ricobenespizza.com/#!location-and-contact-info/c66t

Tom Hanlon - and everyone who's made it here so far and everyone to come... Perhaps Tom Wolfe put it slightly right (as right as words can be). I can't find the quote I'm thinking of right now, but here's one somewhat in the same (grant) ballpark. “The Pranksters never talked about synchronicity by name, but they were more and more attuned to the principle. Obviously, according to this principle, man does not have free will. There is no use in his indulging in a lifelong competition to change the structure of the little environment he seems to be trapped in. But one could see the larger pattern and move with it - Go with the flow! - and accept it and rise above one's immediate environment and even alter it by accepting the larger pattern and growing with it.” ― Tom Wolfe, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test Alright I don't live on the East Coast like tfonts - I have no excuse (except I like the witching hours and I work a lot of nights) Nightzzz all :)

Okay, Here's the Deal So Far on our Birthday Weekend, subject to change in a few hours, so pay attention...you in the back, tone down the drums for a bit...thanks... Hi campers and camperettes, cats, and catettes, We are the Sunshine Daydreamers. Thanks to rgergelis, his Karma and his just all-around coolness and welcome smile, and Marye for her spot-on attentiveness to all-that-is-right, we now have this portal in cyberspace. Pretty cool, huh, pull up a chair, or stool, or carpet, join us and hop on this magic bus as we head for Chicago. For the un-initiated,and as a bit of history, Tfonts gathered a bunch of names over the past days, from folks going to or planning on being in Chicago, got them in on an email, sent out an email blast and all sorts of stuff happened...it kind-of exploded into 15-20 conversations on whowhatwhenwhere and how to have a picnic. Apparently, we can't just show up with a checkered tablecloth and some fried chicken and call it good. Thank God, for that would be way too plebeian and droll. So committees were formed, officers were elected,t-shirts and coffee mugs were designed, tasks were delegated, and we now have have meetings, we follow Roberts Rules of Order, and even have donuts. NOT!!!...but we did agree on a name, Sunshine Daydreamers. And some other stuff, like a T-shirt which is in the works. It's not too late to get in on a t-shirt, so do your homework and notify the responsible person for that. Things are fluid, we are all partying and listening to righteous tunes, you are included if you are going and are kind, and we may meet and hang out in one OR ALL OF three places, as follows: 1) A pub/hotel bar south of Soldiers Field 2) A pub/hotel bar north of Soldiers Field 3) Somewhere close to the fountain in downtown Grant Park for a Grand Hug-and-Meet-and Greet, maybe at high noon on Saturday and maybe someone can bring a camera and take a picture or sumpin'. 4) An ongoing meet and hang out spot (near #3) that will be a central gathering all weekend long, starting around noon on Friday and running till whenever on Sunday. It could be a great place for a rendezvous; to touch bases, get a plan, and party on before (during) or after the show, as you stroll thru to other hot spots that may grab your attention. Anyhow, that's it in a large nutshell. If you have an idea, or a plan, or a suggestion, or a comment, or a cold beer, OR A TICKET by all means, share. Stay tuned for further announcements...here and elsewhere, from those that are in the know, or from those who are telling us what we need to know, or from you, who has a brilliant idea and JUST KNOW it will be the perfect addition to our Grand Picnic and Show...please share, your comments are welcome. Still waiting for someone to make us our all access laminates, btw...and still waiting for a mascot... Remember friends at the end, as always, it's about the journey: the life, the love, the planning, the music, the vibes, the family, the experiences and the memories...so live large, plan grand, love without end and go for it! One last thing, as Tom right below said, we are and have "That Something Else"...dream it, say it, prove it...and Let There be Songs..To Fill the Air. cheers, geo

The report, like the train will be delayed. Casey Jones is not at the wheel. They are currently 9 hours behind schedule. They are losing time with every update. Talked to Al briefly. Conductor told him no signal for next few hours. He will try to post something in the a.m. Goodnite all, gob

Good morning to your family from ours....You'll see that ba dus has a spot or three right next to Crazy Otto...don't worry, he partied till 4 AM last night and should sleep right through to Chi-Town. Welcome abord, bring that licorice to the pic-a-nic...we got the advance reservations for you, a table on the grass, and we're all about to have a real good time. Thanks all for the enterrtainment, the love, laughter and song. I could swear that tfonts said Dis Dus wasn't gonna be a Song and Bance Routine but then Rjrrrjrrr and Holly Hike to Like took over. Up went the satellite signal, down from the Jerry heavens came KDED, and we've been motoring along right fine. One of the grand payoffs is that right soon we get to stop strangers just to shake their hand. Hi My name is geogrinningfromeartoearmeister, and I miss Jerry. It is a distinct pleasure meeting you all. Da Rjrrrjrrr, Da Klang. da Totes and da lady in white sing a grand four-part harmony, da Doktor K brings it home with her sweet lalalalaas.... join in any time. Briver, crank up Da Bass! Geo

I have it on very good authority that several of our Daydreamers have jumped ba dus due to large traffic jams. Some are flying in, and have landed, some have flown in and are hopping the twane. Some are enroute between hops. Then there's Crazy Otto...go figure. He's roller skating with his old metal skates from the Nixon days...bless him. Whether it's cars, planes, dusses or twanes, if you see strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand, you know you are in the right place. g

Hey Now, Just wanna wish ye travelers a safe ride to Chi-town, arriving happy and healthy. Thanks for representing. I'll be having a 3-day living room party in Flagtown, so I'll be with you in a different sort of way. Technology is f'in' sweet right now, in this Dead moment, that I can be with you, in my way. I will be decorated in Green licks of smoke with rings and bells on, sending you ALL Ripples of Rainbows. Peace...Bring it to Chi-town...And leave your troubles behind...PS On Technology, I've watched/listened to the Santa Clara shows 3 times each now, going on four...oh, but Jerry...I miss him...I hope he channels in again, like Sunday....

Y'all've inspired me and I can't get this song outa my head Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking and... When she passes, each one she passes goes... ah... When she walks, she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gentle that... When she passes, each one she passes goes... ooh... Ooh... But I watch her so sadly How... can I tell her I love her Yes... I would give my heart gladly, But each day, when she walks to the sea She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking and... When she passes, I smile, but she doesn't see... doesn't see

Welcome to the Sunshine Daydreamers thread newbies! Here are some rules to live by here in SD land: 1) There are a few rules to follow but we make them up as we go along and they can change, morph, be modified or simply go back to their original intent at any time. 2) Be kind to everyone in your life. It starts with being kind here, then it spreads to family and friends, and ultimately to strangers stopping strangers just to give hugs or handshakes. 3) Look out for one another, be it for tickets, a bite to eat, a drink of water and for general health and safety. 4) DO NOT, I mean DO NOT, address the bus driver directly without an intermediary or in the form of a song lyric. He only understands singing words and if you try to actually talk to him, you will find your dead ass out on the side of the road. 5) Live by these rules and don't take them too seriously, or anything else for that matter. 6) Open you heart and mind to the dead in any carnation for the music never stops. OK, have the board of conductors reviewed my rules of engagement for SD members? Did I leave anything out? If so, please enlighten the new members. Safe travels to all headed for Chi-town! Alright item 4) may have been a little over-exaggerated and may in fact be completely false and without merit. All others, we're good!

Ok so marye has condensed the rules and has so eloquently summed it up as: "be careful out there, look out for each other, and have fun!" Hit the nail on the head Mary, good job! In a nutshell, that really is all there is to it.

This might be a repeat, but my final play on KDED, sent with love to Miller's horse and a missing moonchild - If you're driving into town With a dark cloud above you Dial in the number Who's bound to love you Oh honey you turn me on I'm a radio I'm a country station I'm a little bit corny I'm a wildwood flower Waving for you Broadcasting tower Waving for you And I'm sending you out This signal here I hope you can pick it up Loud and clear I know you don't like weak women You get bored so quick And you don't like strong women 'Cause they're hip to your tricks It's been dirty for dirty Down the line But you know I come when you whistle When you're loving and kind But if you've got too many doubts If there's no good reception for me Then tune me out, 'cause honey Who needs the static It hurts the head And you wind up cracking And the day goes dismal From "Breakfast Barney" To the sign-off prayer What a sorry face you get to wear I'm going to tell you again now If you're still listening there If you're driving into town With a dark cloud above you Dial in the number Who's bound to love you If you're lying on the beach With the transistor going Kick off the sandflies honey The love's still flowing If your head says forget it But your heart's still smoking Call me at the station The lines are open

Pretty nice and wonderful to know the first wave has gotten off da dus and is representing the Sunshine Daybreamers Clan most enthusiastically in Chicago. Looks like our wheels are in good shape as we spin around and pick up round two and three. All you gotta do is wave, smile, and hop on...see you on the fields of green...remember to bring that magic carpet to assist you when traffic gets a bit heavy...and don't forget the towel... Here's a blast from the past from the KDED radio dial... Hot summer day (Hot summer day) Carry me along Oh, hot summer day (Hot summer day) Please carry me along Hot summer day Carry me along To its end Where I begin Long summer dream (Long summer dream) Sliding round my mind Those long summer dreams (Long summer dream) Are leaving me behind Hot summer day Carry me along To its end Where I begin Circling like a river Over brightly colored stones Breaking up my soul And taking part of me home Leaving the other half To tumble all alone Love, love, where did you go? Hot summer day (Hot summer day) Carry me along To its end where I begin Those long summer dreams (Long summer dream) Still spinning round my mind And they end where they begin And I want to grab that river And stop the love that's dying Because I know that somewhere Deep inside my soul you're still lying Waiting to awaken And shake that river's flow Love, love, where did you go? They told me that the sun turned green I said I didn't know And they told me that the moon turned blue I said it didn't show And they told me that I looked a fool And I said I'd let that go But when they told me that our love was dead I had to turn and go Oh love Love Love Love Love Where did you go? Hot summer day (Hot summer day) Carry me along To its end Where I begin Long summer dreams (Long summer dream) Sliding round my mind And they end Where they begin Circling like a river Over brightly colored stones Breaking up my soul And taking part of me home Leaving the other half To tumble all alone Love, love, where did you go? Songwriters DAVID LAFLAMME, LINDA LAFLAMME ...love went to Chicago all...see you there!

To the train.....and bus To Kingston mines and the chop house To the cats n kittens puppets n pugs To Miller to Stella to every other gal n fella Hit it Sarge..... Let me run with you tonight I'll take you on a moonlight ride There's someone I used to see But she don't give a damn for me But let me get to the point, let's roll another joint And turn the radio loud, I'm too alone to be proud You don't know how it feels You don't know how it feels to be me People come, people go Some grow young, some grow cold I woke up in between A memory and a dream So let's get to the point, let's roll another joint Let's head on down the road There's somewhere I gotta go And you don't know how it feels You don't know how it feels to be me My old man was born to rock He's still tryin' to beat the clock Think of me what you will I've got a little space to fill So let's get to the point, let's roll another joint And let's head on down the road There's somewhere I got to go And you don't know how it feels No, you don't know how it feels to be me Chicago Rocks!!!!!!!!

Play it sweet for out travelers... Truckin' got my chips cashed in. Keep truckin', like the do-dah man Together, more or less in line, just keep truckin' on. Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on Main Street. Chicago, New York, Detroit and it's all on the same street. Your typical city involved in a typical daydream Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings. Dallas, got a soft machine; Houston, too close to New Orleans; New York's got the ways and means; but just won't let you be, oh no. Most of the cast that you meet on the streets speak of true love, Most of the time they're sittin' and cryin' at home. One of these days they know they better get goin' Out of the door and down on the streets all alone. Truckin', like the do-dah man. Once told me "You've got to play your hand" Sometimes your cards ain't worth a dime, if you don't lay'em down, Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me; Other times I can barely see. Lately it occurres to me What a long, strange trip it's been. What in the world ever became of sweet Jane? She lost her sparkle, you know she isn't the same Livin' on reds, vitamin C, and cocaine, All a friend can say is "Ain't it a shame?" Truckin', up to Buffalo. Been thinkin', you got to mellow slow Takes time, you pick a place to go, and just keep truckin' on. Sittin' and starin' out of the hotel window. Got a tip they're gonna kick the door in again I'd like to get some sleep before I travel, But if you got a warrant, I guess you're gonna come in. Busted, down on Bourbon Street, Set up, like a bowlin' pin. Knocked down, it get's to wearin' thin. They just won't let you be, oh no. You're sick of hangin' around and you'd like to travel; Get tired of travelin' and you want to settle down. I guess they can't revoke your soul for tryin', Get out of the door and light out and look all around. Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me; Other times I can barely see. Lately it occurres to me What a long, strange trip it's been. Truckin', I'm a goin' home. Whoa whoa baby, back where I belong, Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin' on. Hey now get back truckin' home.

I applaud northern Illinois for their plethora of fabulous wind farms...blowin in the breeze Casey Jones is behind the wheel and the road goes on for miles. Almost there though.
