People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin, When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange, Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game, People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away, Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me, When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall, Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball? I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll, No longer riding on the merry-go-round, I just had to let it go, People asking questions lost in confusion, Well I tell them there's no problem, Only solutions, Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind, I tell them there's no hurry... I'm just sitting here doing time, I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll, No longer riding on the merry-go-round, I just had to let it go.

He turned thirty-five last Sunday In his hair he found some gray But he still ain't changed his lifestyle He likes it better the old way So he grows a little garden in the back yard by the fence He's consuming what he's growing nowadays in self defense He get's out there in the twilight zone Sometimes when it just don't make no sense He gets off on country music Cause disco left him cold He's got young friends into new wave But he's just too friggin' old And he dreams at night of Woodstock and the day John Lennon died How the music made him happy and the silence made him cry Yeah he thinks of John sometimes And he has to wonder why [Chorus:] He's an old hippie and he don't know what to do Should he hang on to the old Should he grab on to the new He's an old hippie...his new life is just a bust He ain't trying to change nobody He's just trying real hard to adjust He was sure back in the sixties that everyone was hip Then they sent him off to Vietnam on his senior trip And they forced him to become a man while he was still a boy And in each wave of tragedy he waited for the joy Now this world may change around him But he just can't change no more [Chorus] Well, he stays away a lot now from the parties and the clubs And he's thinking while he's joggin' 'round Sure is glad he quit the hard drugs Cause him and his kind get more endangered everyday And pretty soon the species will just up and fade away Like the smoke from that torpedo...just up and fade away [Chorus]

This one is for the bus.....and its inhabitants...... I remember to this day The bright red Georgia clay And how it stuck to the tires After the summer rain Will power made that old car go A woman's mind told me that so Oh how I wish We were back on the road again Me and you and a dog named boo Travellin' and livin' off the land Me and you and a dog named boo How I love being a free man I can still recall The wheat fields of St. Paul And the morning we got caught Robbing from an old hen Old McDonald he made us work But then he paid us for what it was worth Another tank of gas And back on the road again I'll never forget the day We motored stately into big L.A. The lights of the city put settlin' Down in my brain Though it's only been a month or so That old car's buggin' us to go We've gotta get away and get back on The road again

I'm just really bored at work since the doctor I work for has been out of town. I was just scrolling through friends' posts and thought I might try to correct someone's falsehood...big mistake. They enjoy telling lies. Next up, unrelated song Theres a port on a western bay And it serves a hundred ships a day Lonely sailors pass the time a way And talk about their homes Theres a girl in this harbor town And she works laying whiskey down They say Brandy, fetch another round She serves them whisky and wine The sailors say... Chorus: Brandy, you're a fine girl < you're a fine girl > What a good wife you would be Your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea Brandy wears a braided chain Made of finest silver from the north of spain A locket that bears the name of the man that Brandy loves He came on a summers day - bearing gifts - from far away But he made it clear he couldnt stay The harbor was his home - Chorus - Bridge: Brandy used to watch his eyes As he told his sailor stories She could feel the ocean fall and rise She saw its raging glory But he had always told the truth Lord he was an honest man And Brandy does her best to understand At night when the bars close down Brandy walks through a slient town And loves a man who's not around She still can hear him say She hears him say...

Facebook? Really? C'mon kid.....it's a piranha fest.....like virtual Shark week..... try this....if it doesn't pacify then I don't know...... Take me home, Sarge..... When we came to the station all the trains were rusty The doors were open and the windows broken in There was grass in all the cracks and the air hung musty The travel posters were flapping in the wind So we moved through the dust and gloom Playing waiting games in the waiting-room Lay our sleeping-bags out on the floor And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider Leaves me here without a place to go If I followed the coast road, I'd be home by evening The harbour lights still cut across the bay From the slot machine arcade the lights go streaming To the bikes outside the rock 'n' roll cafe Ah but you know those small town blues Are really too much to lose There's nothing really there to go back for And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider Leaves me here without a place to go Any railway station would be just fine, fine, fine To settle down and wash the cobwebs from your head Oh, if your situation's running dry, dry, dry Find a waiting-room beneath the stars to make your bed' Cause you know London can make your brain stall The streets get cold and empty on a rainy night So you duck into the subway station, you can hear the trains call They want to take you to the Earl's Court Road, but it don't seem right Cause it's na, na, na noowah On the juke-box, singing in the burger bar See the people's faces in the passing cars don't want to know And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider Leaves me here without a place to go You have the most appealing surface I have seen Bring it over here, lay it down by me Don't mean to make you nervous, I just mean To make you see, this is the place to be When we came to the station all the trains were rusty The air was empty and the platforms overgrown There were old tin cans and cats and the doors were crusted With mud and leaves and names carved long ago And the rails go on for ever in a silver trail to the setting sun You can follow them anywhere you want to go And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider Leaves me here without a need to know

A yellow moon is growing cold. I rise, looking through my morning eyes, Surprised to find you by my side. Rack my brain to try to remember your name To find the words to tell you goodbye. Morning dues. Newborn day. Midnight blue turn to gray. Midnight blue burning gold. A yellow moon is growing cold. Take care, Sarge has ba dus for now.....

hehehe...band is Def Leppard off the Hysteria album. Listened to them a lot in my hometown growing up. First dance in Junior high was to them. Saw them in 2006 or so in STL with Styx, they still got it! As for the Floyd, well what can I say. I remember watching the video to learning to fly when I was about 5 and I was hooked. My first CD was Floyd, I asked my grandma to get me one for xmas and she bought me "a collection of great dance songs" I have the complete boxed set, etc. I love old Floyd and all those you mentioned. Astronomy Domine is unmatched. I like Floyd post Waters too like the Division Bell but nothing was the same after Syd. (Shine on you crazy diamond) The local rock stations play Money so much it almost stings my ears at this point. Which is a shame because the message is on point. Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway Do they still meet there by the Cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The nights of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

Who in hell is that? Matt said you liked Floyd......one of my faves.....really like early stuff....but after Syd Barrettt.....more, obscured by clouds, ummagumma and meddle The path you tread is narrow and the drop is shear and very high The ravens all are watching from a vantage point near by Apprehension creeping like a choo-train up your spine Will the tightrope reach the end; will the final cuplet rhyme And it's high time Cymbaline It's high time Cymbaline Please wake me Butterfly with broken wings is falling by your side The ravens all are closing in there's no where you can hide Your manager and agent are both busy on the phone Selling colored photographs to magazines back home And it's high time Cymbaline It's high time Cymbaline Please wake me The lines converging where you stand they must have moved the picture plane The leaves are heavy around your feet you hear the thunder of the train Suddenly it strikes you that they're moving into range Doctor Strange is always changing size And it's high time Cymbaline It's high time Cymbaline Please wake me And it's high time Cymbaline It's high time Cymbaline Please wake me

Trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and see what I get?....bupkis.... If all else fails.... Play Dead.....Sarge...hit it..... Gazing at the fire, burning by the water Before he speaks the world around us quiets. With eyes as sharp as arrows and turning to the fire He clears the air and cuts it with a feather. Many in a circle slowly 'round the fire When he is gone I want to know him better. No one is forsaken, no one is a liar, He plants the tree of life on our foreheads with water. He hums, there are drums, four winds, rising suns, We are singing and playing, I hear him saying. I remember breezes from winds inside your body keep me high, like I told you, I'll sing to them this story and know why. See ya gotta think outside the box.....

Yep, I started listening when I was 13. Had a goth phase shortly after...about that melancholy... Voices, A Thousand, Thousand Voices Whispering, The Time Has Passed For Choices Golden Days Are Passing Over, Yeah I Can't Seen To See You Baby Although My Eyes Are Open Wide But I Know I'll See You Once More When I See You, I'll See You On The Other Side Yes, I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side Leaving, I Hate To See You Cry Grieving, I Hate To Say Goodbye Dust And Ash Forever, Yeah Though I Know We Must Be Parted As Sure As Stars Are In The Sky I'm Gonna See You When It Comes To Glory And I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side Yes, I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side Never Thought I'd Feel Like This Strange To Be Alone, Yeah But We'll Be Together Carved In Stone, Carved In Stone, Carved In Stone Hold Me, Hold Me Tight I'm Falling Far Away, Distant Voices Calling I'm So Cold, I Need You Darling, Yeah I Was Down, But Now I'm Flying Straight Across The Great Divide I Know You're Crying, But I'll Stop You Crying When I See You I See You On The Other Side Yes, I'll See You, See You On The Other Side I'm Gonna See You, See You On The Other Side God Knows I'll See You, See You On The Other Side, Yeah I'll See You, See You On The Other Side I'm Gonna See You, See You On The Other Side God Knows I'll See You, See You On The Other Side, Yeah I Wanna See You, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, See You On The Other Side God Knows I'll See You, See You On The Other Side

Yep, got it.... just one more for the record... then back to KDED's originally scheduled program... And it's true we named our children  After towns that we've never been to.  And it's true that the clouds just hung around  Like black Cadillacs outside a funeral.  And we were done, done, done  With all the fuck, fuck, fuckin' around.  You were so true to yourself.  You were true to no one else.  Well I should put you in the ground.  I've got the time, I got the hours,  I got the days, I got the weeks.  I could say to myself  I've got the words but I can't speak.  Well I was done, done, done  With all the circ, circ, circlin' round.  I didn't die and I ain't complainin'.  I ain't blamin' you.  I didn't know that the words you said to me  Meant more to me than they ever could you. I didn't lie and I ain't sayin'  I told the whole truth.  I didn't know that this game we were playin'  Even had a set of rules.  We named our children after towns  That we've never been to.  And it's true that the clouds just hunger around  Like black Cadillacs outside a funeral.  And we were laughing at the stars  While our feet clung tight to the ground.  So pleased with ourselves  For using so many verbs and nouns.  But we were all still just dumb, dumb, dumber  Than the dirt, dirt, dirt on the ground.  Well wings on flames, kings with no names,  Well this place just ain't got right air right now.  You were so all over town but still so Crayola brown.  Well you should run 'round yourself right now.  And we were done, done, done  With all the fuck, fuck, fuckin' around.  Circlin' round.

Apologies to Carly Simon..... it gets better....it really does... Signing off with this sad tune on KDED..... She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island Where the old world shadows hang heavy in the air She packed her hopes and dreams like a refugee Just as her father came across the sea She heard about a place people were smilin' They spoke about the red man's way, and how they loved the land And they came from everywhere to the Great Divide Seeking a place to stand or a place to hide Down in the crowded bars, out for a good time, Can't wait to tell you all, what it's like up there And they called it paradise I don't know why Somebody laid the mountains low while the town got high Then the chilly winds blew down Across the desert through the canyons of the coast, to the Malibu Where the pretty people play, hungry for power to light their neon way and give them things to do Some rich men came and raped the land, Nobody caught 'em Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus, people bought 'em And they called it paradise The place to be They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea You can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina just like the missionaries did, so many years ago They even brought a neon sign: "Jesus is coming" Brought the white man's burden down Brought the white man's reign Who will provide the grand design? What is yours and what is mine? 'Cause there is no more new frontier We have got to make it here We satisfy our endless needs and justify our bloody deeds, in the name of destiny and the name of God And you can see them there, On Sunday morning They stand up and sing about what it's like up there They call it paradise I don't know why You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye C'mon Sarge....been a long day.... Holly be well......Coffee is on me tomorrow.

Feeling better now that the day is done. Good evening sirs and madames. See the curtains hanging in the window In the evening on a Friday night A little light shining through the window Let me know everything is alright, sing this song Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Hear me sing, summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind See the paper lying on the sidewalk A little music from the house next door So I walk on up to the doorstep Through the screen and across the floor Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Sing it, summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind, yeah When I come home from a hard day's work And you're waitin' there not a care in the world See the smile a waitin' in the kitchen Food cooking and the plates for two Feel the arms that reach out to hold me In the evenin' when the day is through Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Here we go, summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Come on, summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind

Holly Briver has my number - from posting American Girl on June 29 as I packed my bag next the crashing waves of the 101 - to posting Dancing in the Moonlight around the time I was listening to that song and painting a new self-portrait... Sigh - a happy one. A slightly melancholic, un-lonely one. We are Real Americans. We are the True Patriots, loving this land - the Earth, knowing that this land is your land and mine <3 helping those around us in need - as much as they'll let us. And we've had our share of horror and loss. And yet... we sing and dance and love, and around here, it all rolls into one. Figures that just as I finally get my website up and ambling slowly down a sidewalk, I also finally log into ssdd for the first time... It all rolls into one after all. Especially with Holly driving <3 I am happy to share good times and bad times with you girl. In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man, Now I've reached that age, I've tried to do all those things the best I can. No matter how I try, I find my way into the same old jam. Good Times, Bad Times, you know I had my share; When my woman left home for a brown eyed man, Well, I still don't seem to care. Sixteen, I fell in love with a girl as sweet as could be, Only took a couple of days 'til she was rid of me. She swore that she would be all mine and love me till the end, But when I whispered in her ear, I lost another friend, oooh. Good Times, Bad Times, you know I had my share; When my woman left home for a brown eyed man, Well, I still don't seem to care. I know what it means to be alone, I sure do wish I was at home. I don't care what the neighbors say, I'm gonna love you each and every day. You can feel the beat within my heart. Realize, sweet babe, we ain't ever gonna part.

Boy howdy do we have some early risers here on da dus. Thanks for the coffee and for seeing me through...all of you! We keep this crew ship shape and I couldn't ask for better shipmates than yous guys! @ Stella my soul sister, we'll keep rockin out together virtually until we can rock out together live! Music soothes my soul and a perfectly timed tune can create such magic! and on that note here is Good Bye Stranger: It was an early morning yesterday I was up before the dawn And I really have enjoyed my stay But I must be moving on Like a king without a castle Like a queen without a throne I'm an early morning lover And I must be moving on Now I believe in what you say Is the undisputed truth But I have to have things my own way To keep me in my youth Like a ship without an achor Like a slave without a chain Just the thought of those sweet ladies Sends a shiver through my veins And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few Goodbye strange it's been nice Hope you find your paradise Tried to see your point of view Hope your dreams will all come true Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane Will we ever meet again Feel no sorrow, feel no shame Come tomorrow, feel no pain Now some they do and some they don't And some you just can't tell And some they will and some they won't With some it's just as well You can laugh at my behavior That'll never bother me Say the devil is my savior But I don't pay no heed And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few Goodbye stranger it's been nice etc...

Reality is way overrated....Monday has come around again I'm in the same old place With the same old faces always watching me Who knows how long I'll have to stay Could be a hundred years Of sweat and tears At the rate that I get paid Sometimes I slowly drift away From all the dull routine That's with me every day A fantasy will come to me Diamonds are what I really need Think I'll rob a store, escape the law And live in Italy Lately my luck has been so bad You know the roulette wheel's A crooked deal I'm loosing all I had Soon be like a man that's on the run And live from day to day Never needing anyone Play hide and seek Throughout the week My life is full of romance Guess I'll always have to be Living in a fantasy That's the way it's got to be From now on You think I'm crazy I can see It's you for you, and me for me Living in a fantasy From now on

To find that song I watched a youtube video with a family home movie at disneyland...kinda funny to pair with the song... Did you say gypsy? So I'm back, to the velvet underground Back to the floor, that I love To a room with some lace and paper flowers Back to the gypsy that I was To the gypsy... that I was And it all comes down to you Well, you know that it does Well, lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice Ah, and it lights up the night And you see your gypsy You see your gypsy To the gypsy that remains faces freedom with a little fear I have no fear, I have only love And if I was a child And the child was enough Enough for me to love Enough to love She is dancing away from me now She was just a wish She was just a wish And a memory is all that is left for you now You see your gypsy You see your gypsy Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you And it all comes down to you Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes And it all comes down to you I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes And it all comes down to you I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes (She was just a wish) (She was just a wish) And it all comes down to you Lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you

duely noted...and now for something completely different... "Cowboy Dan" Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He's gonna start a war He hops in his pickup puts the pedal to the floor And says "I got mine but I want more" Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He drove the desert, fired his rifle in the sky And says, "God if I have to die you will have to die" Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes the the reservation drinks and gets mean I didn't move to the city, the city moved to me And I want out desperately Can't do it, not even if sober Can't get that engine turned over Standing in the tall grass Thinking nothing You know we need oxygen to breath Everytime you think you're walking you're just moving the ground Everytime you think you're talking you're just moving your mouth Everytime you're looking you're just looking down Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He's gonna start a war He hops in his pickup puts the pedal to the floor And says "I got mine but I want more" Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He drove the desert, fired his rifle in the sky And says, "God if I have to die you will have to die" Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes the the reservation drinks and gets mean I didn't move to the city, the city moved to me And I want out desperately Can't do it, not even if sober Can't get that engine turned over

Time to get a little bit Hillbilly..... Hillbillies, hippies.....same thing...... what did you say Sarge? "Dwight Yoakam is God?" no that's the Clapton dude..... He was for awhile.... But fame got to him..... EC has regained humility and sobriety.... Class act..... Girl you taught me how to hurt real bad and cry myself to sleep And showed me how this town can shatter dreams Another lesson 'bout a naive fool who came to Babylon And found out that the pie don't taste so sweet Now it's guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music Lonely, lonely streets that I call home Yeah, my guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music It's the only thing that keeps me hangin' on Ain't no glamour in this tinseled land of lost and wasted lives Painful scars are all that's left of me Oh, but thank you girl for teachin' me brand new ways to be cruel If I can find my mind now I guess I'll just leave And it's guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music Lonely, lonely streets that I call home Yeah, my guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music It's the only thing that keeps me hangin' on Oh it's guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music Lonely, lonely streets that I call home Yeah, my guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music It's the only thing that keeps me hangin' on It's the only thing that keeps me hangin' on It's the only thing that keeps me hangin' on

Oh man, the song remembers when... So you know I am from the country... When I was 10 I learned to two step...in country line dancing class... We would have a dance and potluck every Saturday night at the park pavillion. I would always dance to that song...so much fun! And that reminds me... Little sister don't you, little sister don't you Little sister don't you kiss me once or twice Tell me that's it nice and then you run Yeah yeah, little sister don't you do what your big sister done You know, I dated your big sister Oh, I took her to the show Hey, I went for some candy And along came Jim Dandy And they slipped right out the door Little sister don't you, little sister don't you Little sister don't you kiss me once or twice Tell me that's it nice and then you run Yeah, little sister don't you do what your big sister done I used to pull down on your pigtails Hey girl, pinch your turned-up nose Oh, but baby you've been growin' And lately it's been showin' From your head down to your toes Little sister don't you, little sister don't you Little sister don't you kiss me once or twice Tell me that's it nice and then you run Yeah, little sister don't you do what your big sister done Hup, hup, hup! All get on! Every time I see your sister Lord, she's with somebody new Oh, she's mean and she's evil Like a little old boll weevil Think I'll try my love with you Little sister don't you, little sister don't you Little sister don't you kiss me once or twice Tell me that's it nice and then you run Yeah, little sister don't you do what your big sister done Well, little sister don't you do what your big sister done Oh, little sister don't you do what your big sister done

Holly I get it, city boy but similar routine.....Yes, those potlucks.....and the dancin..... YouTube the Neil Young Austin City Limits performance from maybe 1984.....priceless.... When I was a younger man Got lucky with a rock 'n' roll band Struck gold in Hollywood All that time I knew I would Get back to the country Back where it all began Get back to the country Back in the barn again. Now when we hit the road Big buses and trucks unload After the curtain falls Load up and then we all Get back to the country Back where it all began Get back to the country Back on the road again. When I was a younger man Got lucky with a rock 'n' roll band Struck gold in Hollywood All that time I knew I would Get back to the country Back where it all began Get back to the country Back in the barn again.

Ok, one more from Mr. Yoakam...for old times sake. Turn it on, turn it up, turn me loose! I'm a thousand miles from nowhere Time don't matter to me 'Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere And there's no place I want to be I got heartaches in my pocket I got echoes in my head And all that I keep hearing Are the cruel, cruel things that you said I'm a thousand miles from nowhere Time don't matter to me 'Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere And there's no place I want to be Oh, I Oh, I Oh, I Oh, I Oh, I Oh, I I've got bruises on my memory I've got tear stains on my hands And in the mirror there's a vision Of what used to be a man I'm a thousand miles from nowhere Time don't matter to me 'Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere And there's no place I want to be I'm a thousand miles from nowhere Time don't matter to me 'Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere And there's no place I want to be Oh, I I'm a thousand miles from nowhere I'm a thousand miles from nowhere I'm a thousand I'm a thousand And Neil Young is always welcome in my ear hole...

you know, Sarge just pointed out that we are the only ones left on ba dus...... I mean, I'm fine with it....I guess? What say ye? This song came to mind...... Wake up, little Susie, wake up Wake up, little Susie, wake up We've both been sound asleep Wake up little Susie and weep The movie's over, it's four o'clock And we're in trouble deep Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie Well, what are we gonna tell your Mama What are we gonna tell your Pa? What are we gonna tell our friends When they say, "Ooh la la!" Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie Well, I told your Mama that you'd be in by ten Well, Susie baby, looks like we goofed again Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie We gotta go home Wake up, little Susie, wake up Wake up, little Susie, wake up The movie wasn't so hot It didn't have much of a plot We fell asleep, our goose is cooked Our reputation is shot Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie Well, what are we gonna tell your Ma-ma What are we gonna tell your Pa? What are we gonna tell our friends When they say, "Ooh la la!" Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie Wake up, little Susie by the way...I got nowhere else to go.......

Well you know...I'm here to entertain, myself if no one else is listening. I think some have made their way over to SSDD... they were probably happy I wasn't there the last two days being a Debbie Downer... Im totally cool with this being the Rich and Holly Show. Anyone may listen or join in the fun, or not... HER:] They say we're young and we don't know We won't find out until we grow [HIM:] Well I don't know if all that's true 'Cause you got me, and baby I got you [HIM:] Babe [BOTH:] I got you babe I got you babe [HER:] They say our love won't pay the rent Before it's earned, our money's all been spent [HIM:] I guess that's so, we don't have a pot But at least I'm sure of all the things we got [HIM:] Babe [BOTH:] I got you babe I got you babe [HIM:] I got flowers in the spring I got you to wear my ring [HER:] And when I'm sad, you're a clown And if I get scared, you're always around [HER:] So let them say your hair's too long 'Cause I don't care, with you I can't go wrong [HIM:] Then put your little hand in mine There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb [HIM:] Babe [BOTH:] I got you babe I got you babe [HIM:] I got you to hold my hand [HER:] I got you to understand [HIM:] I got you to walk with me [HER:] I got you to talk with me [HIM:] Igot you to kiss goodnight [HER:] I got you to hold me tight [HIM:] I got you, I won't let go [HER:] I got you to love me so [BOTH:] I got you babe I got you babe I got you babe I got you babe I got you babe

I was so gonna post that Sonny n Cher song.....thought it was to presumptuous....went with Everly Brothers..... Ahhh boy I have found myself in someone else......like looking in the mirror....and I am you and what I see is me.... When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right. Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest nights. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend. If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds and that old north wind should begin to blow, keep your head together and call my name out loud. Soon I will be knocking upon your door. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there. Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend? People can be so cold. They'll hurt you and desert you. Well, they'll take your soul if you let them, oh yeah, but don't you let them. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call, Lord, I'll be there, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend. You've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Oh, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend.

Hey there Georgie boy..... All is good with the world, and if it isn't, well it's not for lack of trying here.... Ba dus is in good hands....and will take us wherever we need go.....of that I am certain..... I guess I'm bound to ride shotgun with Sarge.... Many worse fates out there...... Holly, for you...... Sitting in a transit all night long Playing clubs and rocking right on The road's much too long since I've been wasting my time Wish I was home again sipping my wine And I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care 'Cause I'm gone, gone, gone I don't care, it's where I'm from I'm on the road again LA to London is a mighty long time Eight hours flying can bring you down Sitting near a suit who's a red-neck going, Eyes are moving but there's no life showing And I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care 'Cause I'm gone, gone, gone I don't care, it's where I'm from I'm on the road again Now that I'm home again, things are much better Biding my time with my little go-getter No matter what they say, no matter what they do, Gonna end up in the middle of that rock and roll stew Gone, gone, gone...

See... I knew there had to be someone else lurking on da dus. But wait...I got U babe vs. wake up little Susie and being presumptuous...screw it. Dont read too much into it. We're just having fun. Walking through forests of palm tree apartments --- scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents down by the waterhole --- drunk every Friday --- eating their nuts --- saving their raisins for Sunday. Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows --- they're fast but they're lazy, and sleep in green meadows. Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me. I'm a tiger when I want love, but I'm a snake if we disagree. Just say a word and the boys will be right there: with claws at your back to send a chill through the night air. Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder? Thunder and lightning couldn't be bolder. I'll write on your tombstone, ``I thank you for dinner.'' This game that we animals play is a winner. Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me. I'm a tiger when I want love, but I'm a snake if we disagree. The rivers are full of crocodile nasties and He who made kittens put snakes in the grass. He's a lover of life but a player of pawns --- yes, the King on His sunset lies waiting for dawn to light up His Jungle as play is resumed. The monkeys seem willing to strike up the tune.

Well, You and I both know that the house is hauntedAnd you and I both know that the ghost is me You used to catch me in your bed sheets just rattlin' your chains Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strange You used to bite, I used to moan But now I'm mumbling and you choke Well it ain't so scary on my own Tell me honey, what's a dagger without a cloak? I don't know 'cause You and I both know that the house is haunted And you and I both know that the ghost is me You used to catch me in your bed sheets just rattlin' your chains Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strange In the midnight hour you came alive I was lookin' for my crystal ball I was busy tryin' to charm that snake ...ssss When the sun came up we had no place to hide And you had to tell your friends that my fangs were fake I just had to You and I both know that the house is haunted And you and I both know that the ghost is me You used to catch me in your bed sheets just rattlin your chains Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strange Even when one is dead and gone It still takes two to make a house a home Well I'm as lonesome as the catacombs I hear you call my name but no one is there Except a feeling in the air You and I both know that the house is haunted Yeah you and I both know that the ghost is you Used to walk around screaming, all slamming all 'dem doors Well I'm all grown up now, I don't scare easy no more Yeah, you and I both know Oooohh Yeah, you and I both know Oooohh Yeah, you and I both know Oooohh Oooohh

Long time no meow.... In good hands with Miami.... Old soul, kind heart.....and angst....gotta love angst..... Next song....Transatlantic....From Bridge Across Forever..... [I: If She Runs] If she runs, let her run, run, run Just hope that she comes back If she breaks let her break, break, break Let apologies attract And is she's free let her be, let her be She's not in such bad company The big man's still got her name written on the wall If she cries let her cry, cry, cry 'Till there isn't anymore If she cracks, let her crack, crack, crack If that's what che's looking for And if she waits, let her wait, wait, wait You'll have to leave this one to fate It can't ever be too late, when she comes to call It's Hard -- Living with such uncertainty It's Hard -- climbing the statue of liberty It's Hard -- calming the beatle inside of me It's Hard -- missing my max and melody [II: Mr. Wonderful] Her lips were ruby red She had a pretty head Not even once did she miss Sunday school Remember what mama said, "Stick to the rules" This boy was something else Someone she knew so well Echoes of snakes in paradise Saw the strangest fire burning in his eyes. His name was wonderful And it's wonderful, just to be near him His name was majesty And his majesty's requesting your presence He took her for a ride Into the starless night Talked about far away place he's been Could take her down to the city of sin "Grab it while you are young trust me there's nothing wrong But she feard what was 'round the bend" Said "thank you, but no thank's, 'cause I've got a friend" His name was wonderful And it's wonderful, just to be near him His name was majesty And his majesty's requesting your presence [III: Lost and Found Pt. 1] Don't you think if you could be lost Don't you think you can be found Don't you think if you were the world, you'd turn it around Don't you start look behind Don't better stand up 'cause this is your time Don't you think that you'd better start changing your mind [IV: Temple of The Gods] In the Temple of the Gods We can get it on In the Temple of the Gods We will make our home Far from these Boulevards We will plunge headlong In the Temple of the Gods We will sing this song Give all the reasons that you know Slide down where the time moves nice and slow Ease back and relax No figures and no fax Awakening the stranger in your soul In the Temple of the Gods We can get it on In the Temple of the Gods We will make our home Far from these Boulevards We will plunge headlong In the Temple of the Gods We will sing this song [V: Motherless Children/If She Runs (Reprise)] Left the countryside for the city She resides now on the second floor No more gardening in the backyard Busy keepin' the wolves from the door Motherless children, ain't going nowhere Running in circles, time after time Careless, confused, frozen, faithless Dreaming this dream to ease our minds And if she runs Let her run Come on 'cause now the time has come The big man's got the mother and the son Written on the wall Don't want to hear it now..... This tune needs to be heard in its entirety..... Welcome back Katniss.....

OOOHH... thanks for the tune. Shakey Graves are new to me. Watched them play just now on Conan. Good Stuff! Jesus Christ, girl What are people gonna think? When I show up to one of several funerals I've attended for Grandpa this week With you With me But someone's gotta help me dig Someone's gotta help me dig Jesus Christ, girl It hasn't been long so it seems Since I was picking out an island and a tomb for you At the Hollywood Cemetery You kiss On me But we should let this dead guy sleep We should let this dead guy sleep Jesus Christ, girl I laid up for hours in a daze Retracing the expanse of your American back With Adderall and weed in my veins You came I think? 'Cause the marble made my cheeks look pink But I'm unsure of so many things But someone's gotta help me dig Someone's gotta help me dig Someone's gotta help me dig

Something in me, dark and stickyAll the time it's getting strong No way of dealing with this feeling Can't go on like this too long [Chorus:] This time you've gone too far [x3] I told you [x4] This time you've gone too far [x3] I told you [x4] Don't talk back Just drive the car Shut your mouth I know what you are Don't say nothing Keep your hands on the wheel Don't turn around This is for real Digging in the dirt Stay with me, I need support I'm digging in the dirt To find the places I got hurt Open up the places I got hurt The more I look, the more I find As I close on in, I get so blind I feel it in my head, I feel it in my toes I feel it in my sex, that's the place it goes [Chorus] I'm digging in the dirt Stay with me I need support I'm digging in the dirt To find the places I got hurt To open up the places I got hurt Digging in the dirt To find the places we got hurt [x7]

I love this guy... I ran down the road Pants down to my knees Screaming, "Please come help me That Canadian shaman gave a little too much to me!" And I'm writing a novel 'Cause it's never been done before First house that I saw I wrote, "House" up on the door And told the people who lived there they had to get out "'Cause my reality is realer than yours." And there's no time in the present And there's a black dog on the bed I went to the backyard To burn my only clothes And the dog ran out and said "You can't turn nothing into nothingness with me no more." Well I'm no doctor But that monkey might be right And if he is I'll be walking him my whole life I rode to Malibu On a dune buggy with Neil He said, "You're gonna have to drown me down on the beach If you ever want to write 'the real'." And I said "I'm sorry. Young man what is your name again?" Now everywhere I go In West Hollywood It's filled with people pretending they don't see the actress And the actress wishing that they could We could do ayahuasca Baby, if I wasn't holding all these drinks Something 'bout the way Violet whips her hair That makes me empty my pockets on the corner to corner Bumming twenties as if I was the mayor I don't need any new friends, Mama But I could really use something to do So if you're up for it sometimes I swear you wouldn't have to be my muse Heideggerand Sartre Drinking poppy tea I could've sworn last night I passed out in my van And now these guys are pouring one for me I'll never leave the canyon 'Cause I'm surrounded on all sides By people writing novels And living on amusement rides

How're you going to make your way in the worldWhen you weren't cut out for working When your fingers are slender and frail How're you going to get around In this sleazy bedroom town If you don't put yourself up for sale Where will you go with your scarves and your miracles Who's gonna know who you are Drugs and wine and flattering light You must try it again till you get it right Maybe you'll end up with someone different every night All these people with no home to go home to They'd all like to spend the night with you Maybe I would, too But tell me How're you going to make your way in the world, woman When you weren't cut out for working And you just can't concentrate And you always show up late You said you were an actress Yes, I believe you are I thought you'd be a star So I drank up all the money, Yes, I drank up all the money, With these phonies in this Hollywood bar, These friends of mine in this Hollywood bar Loneliness and frustration We both came down with an acute case And when the lights came up at two I caught a glimpse of you And your face looked like something Death brought with him in his suitcase Your pretty face It looked so wasted Another pretty face Devastated The French Inhaler He stamped and mailed her "So long, Norman" She said, "So long, Norman"

Keep em comin' @ Warren Zevon...who knew? Well apparently you. I know nothing! Baby, do you understand me now Sometimes I feel a little mad But don't you know that no one alive Can always be an angel When things go wrong I seem to be bad But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree With a joy that's hard to hide And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry Then you're bound to see my other side But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood If I seem edgy I want you to know That I never mean to take it out on you Life has it's problems and I get my share And that's one thing I never meant to do Because I love you Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human Have thoughts like any other one Sometimes I find myself long regretting Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

this song, kid.....to this day stops me in my tracks....No matter what I'm doing.... God bless Dusty Springfield.......and God bless the Grateful Dead...... Billy-Ray was a preacher's son And when his daddy would visit he'd come along When they gathered round and started talkin' That's when Billy would take me walkin' A-through the backyard we'd go walkin' Then he'd look into my eyes Lord knows to my surprise The only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was Ooh, yes he was Being good isn't always easy No matter how hard I try When he started sweet-talkin' to me He'd come and tell me everything is all right He'd kiss and tell me everything is all right Can I get away again tonight? The only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was (Ooh...) Lord knows he was Yes he was How well I remember The look that was in his eyes Stealin' kisses from me on the sly Takin' time to make time Tellin' me that he's all mine Learnin' from each other's knowing Lookin' to see how much we've grown And the only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was Ooh, yes he was The only one who could ever reach me He was the sweet-talking son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me I kissed the son of a preacher man The only one who could ever move me The sweet-lovin' son of a preacher man The only one who could ever groove me Ahh, ooh, ahh....

All the world over, so easy to see People everywhere just wanna be free Listen, please listen, that's the way it should be Deep in the valley, people got to be free You should see what a lovely, lovely world this'd be Everyone learned to live together Seems to me such an itty bitty thing should be Why can't you and me learn to love one another? All the world over, so easy to see People everywhere just wanna be free I can't understand it, so simple to me People everywhere just got to be free If there's a man who is down and needs a helpin' hand All it takes is you to understand and to pull him through Seems to me we got to solve it individually And I'll do unto you what you do to me Shout it from the mountain on out to the sea No two ways about it, people have to be free Ask me my opinion, my opinion will be Nat'ral situation for a man to be free Git right on board now Oh, what a feelin's just come over me Love can move a mountain, make a blind man see Everybody sing it now come on let's go see Deep in the valley now, we ought to be free See that train over there? That's the train of freedom It's about to 'rrive any minute, now You know it's been'a long, long overdue Look out 'cause it's a'comin' right on through

You were saying EC was the king... Bell bottom blues, you made me cry. I don't want to lose this feeling. And if I could choose a place to die It would be in your arms. Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you? Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back? I'd gladly do it because I don't want to fade away. Give me one more day, please. I don't want to fade away. In your heart I want to stay. It's all wrong, but it's all right. The way that you treat me baby. Once I was strong but I lost the fight. You won't find a better loser. [Chorus 2x] Bell bottom blues, don't say goodbye. I'm sure we're gonna meet again, And if we do, don't you be surprised If you find me with another lover. [Chorus] I don't want to fade away. Give me one more day please. I don't want to fade away. In your heart I long to stay.

....for awhile......then he found a better way....blasphemy here but Derek n the Dominos.....Layla and other assorted Love Songs is my favorite album of all tiime..... and the song I resonate with......to this day..... Have you ever loved a woman So much you tremble in pain? Have you ever loved a woman So much you tremble in pain? And all the time you know She bears another man's name. But you just love that woman So much it's a shame and a sin. You just love that woman So much it's a shame and a sin. But all the time you know She belongs to your very best friend. Have you ever loved a woman And you know you can't leave her alone? Have you ever loved a woman And you know you can't leave her alone? Something deep inside of you Won't let you wreck your best friend's home.

Blasphemy...really Damn music snobs Well she's walking through the clouds With a circus mind that's running 'round. Butterflies and zebras, fairy tales, That's all she ever thinks about. When I'm sad she comes to me With a thousand smiles she gives to me free. Said, "It's all right, take anything you want, Anything you want, anything." First Verse Second Verse Fly on, little wing.

sorry.....ok after this done with EC.....not you, it's me...... Further on up the road Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me. Further on up the road Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me. Further on up the road, Baby, just you wait and see. You gotta reap just what you sow; That old saying is true. You gotta reap just what you sow; That old saying is true. Just like you mistreat someone, Someone's gonna mistreat you. You been laughing, pretty baby, Someday you're gonna be crying. You been laughing, pretty baby, Someday you're gonna be crying. Further on up the road You'll find out I wasn't lying. Further on up the road Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me. Further on up the road Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me. Further on up the road, Baby, just you wait and see.

We should have our own radio station... I think I may have missed my true calling. Only you know and I know All the love we've got to show So don't refuse to believe it By reading too many meanings 'Cause you know that I mean what I say So don't go and take me the wrong way You know you can't go on gettin' your own way 'Cause if you do, it's gonna get you someday Now if I sing to mislead you It's just my craziness comin' through But when it comes down to just two I ain't no crazier than you 'Cause you know that I mean what I say So don't go and take me the wrong way You know you can't go on gettin' your own way 'Cause if you do, it's gonna get you someday Yeah, yeah, yeah, appear to be pleasin' Oh no, no, not deceivin' But it's hard to believe it When you been so mistreated 'Cause you know that I mean what I say So don't go and take me the wrong way You know you can't go on gettin' your own way 'Cause if you do, it's gonna get you someday Only you know and I know Only you know and I know, oh yeah

We already do.....K DED is communal...... You meet someone.....stops you DEAD in your tracks.... Just saying.....hit it Sarge...... Don't misunderstand me, though I know that I've been mean Woman can't you see that I'm in need Although we may be far apart In heart and soul we're near My body aches for you to just be here You are every woman in the world to me And every season I go through You are every woman in the world to me Especially when I'm making love to you Like a falling tear drop You can wipe away my blues Live honey you can make the bitter sweet You're a child, a girl, a woman You are everything I'd choose That's why I sing this song to you That's why I sing this song to you

Yes KDED...but for real on the air, like pirate radio or Mexican Radio If you could read my mind, love What a tale my thoughts could tell Just like an old-time movie 'Bout a ghost from a wishin' well In a castle dark or a fortress strong With chains upon my feet You know that ghost is me And I will never be set free As long as I'm a ghost that you can't see If I could read your mind, love What a tale your thoughts could tell Just like a paperback novel The kind the drugstores sell When you reach the part where the heartaches come The hero would be me But heroes often fail And you won't read that book again Because the ending's just too hard to take I'd walk away like a movie star Who gets burned in a three-way script Enter number two A movie queen to play the scene Of bringing all the good things out in me But for now love, let's be real I never thought I could act this way And I've got to say that I just don't get it I don't know where we went wrong But the feeling's gone and I just can't get it back If you could read my mind, love What a tale my thoughts could tell Just like an old-time movie 'Bout a ghost from a wishin' well In a castle dark or a fortress strong With chains upon my feet But stories always end And if you read between the lines You'll know that I'm just tryin' to understand The feelings that you lack I never thought I could feel this way And I've got to say that I just don't get it I don't know where we went wrong But the feeling's gone and I just can't get it back

Ain't no use to keep taking abuseFrom a friend who isn't kind A friend in need or a friend that you need Who can help you through the troubled times So reach on out and take a hold of my hand And let me know that your ready to go There ain't no dues and you can leave your blues behind And have a little peace peace of mind Give me some peace, Peace of Mind There comes a time when your friends go blind And thier words become diseased They threaten your life with the blade of a knife And set you down upon your needs Make no mistake for your very own sake Heres a little word for now Take off your shoes and let your thoughts be kind And have a little peace, peace of mind Peace Peace of Mind... make us feel better Some folks you find speak a mighty good line They charm you all the way They take you along on a sweet sweet song Then they steal your heart away But blessed be the one who can understand why People have to act that way Cause if I knew I wouldn't even want to say But have a little peace, peace of mind Give me some peace, Peace of Mind Everybody wants Peace, Peace of mind Peace Peace of mind All we need is some... Peace...peace of mind...

I miss WXRT, Chicago's Finest Rock. At one time, you could have heard any and all of these tunes in a day's mix from the old 'XRT. The Dead Hour on weekends, the Sunday-night Un-Concert. The award-winning News at Noon. Ken Nordine's Word Jazz, for goodness sakes. They played anything -- absolutely anything that was interesting. Even if it was CRAP, you didn't really care, because they never, ever played the same song twice in one day, sometimes not in the same week or month. Who cares if they played Linda Ronstadt or Spandeux Ballet, as long as they followed it with Frank Zappa, Talking Heads, Little Feat or the Cure, eh? (No disrespect to Ms. Ronstadt -- a fine set of pipes if there ever was, so sad to see her lose her voice.) I wouldn't know what the heck a Wild Tchoupitoulas was without WXRT. Then, Westinghouse bought them. Then, CBS bought them. *sigh* The worst part is that it's still the best radio station in Chicago. Great connection to local and live music, but oh, the play list gets old nowadays. Good new stuff (can 'ya say Shakey Graves?) An occasional nugget, but mostly corporate crap, played six or seven times a day. Even great new stuff, like that new Beck tune, is overplayed and old in a week. Most days I don't even bother to turn it on.

Is she wrapped up in some other's arms? Or is the girl somewhere all alone? Can you see if she is missing me, or is she having a real good time? Has she forgotten all about, or is the girl still mine all mine? With your eye so big a shiney You can see the whole damn land Yellow moon can you tell me If the girl's with another man? Refrain: Oh yellow moon, have you seen that creole woman You can tell me, Now ain't you a friend of mine.

coffee is on...anesthesia on the upside medium roast..... now by special request from North of the border..... Despair and Deception, Love's ugly little twins Came a-knocking on my door, I let them in Darling, you're the punishment for all of my former sins I let love in I let love in The door it opened just a crack, but Love was shrewed and bold My life flashed before my eyes, it was a horror to behold A life-sentence sweeping confetti from the floor of a concrete hole I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in Well I've been bound and gagged and I've been terrorized And I've been castrated and I've been lobotomized But never has my tormenter come in such a cunning disguise I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in O Lord, tell me what I done Please don't leave me here alone Where are my friends? My friends are gone O Lord, tell me what I done Please don't leave me here alone Where are my friends? My friends are gone I let love in I let love in So if you're sitting all alone and hear a-knocking at you door And the air is full of promises, well buddy, you've been warned Far worse to be Love's lover than the lover that Love has scorned I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in I let love in
