@a little musical trivia....
Name this artist?
well your mother was there to protect you
your papa was there to provide
so how in the world did the excellent baby
wind up in this hotel so broken inside
you lie on your bed in the midnight darkly
listening to every sound
watching the shadows for anything moving
and hoping they don't come around
'cause it's dog eat dog
and it's cat and mouse
it's watch your step and cross yourself
and get back in the house
and it's do or die
it's push and shove
because everybody's hungry
and there isn't quite enough
that's right, we're talkin' about the good life
in the foodchain
love among the ruins
i guess that you've finally got to accept
that there's nothing you can do about it
it's kind of like carving the turkey
it's kind of like mowing the lawn:
everything gets to this certain dimension
winds up on a customer's plate and then gone
@ Unknown Artist
I don't win the internets today. I had to look it up...
Now my turn, this one is easy!
Yes indeed, here we are!
At Saint Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast
Where I stole the mar-juh-reen
An' widdled on the Bingo Cards in lieu of the latrine
I saw a handsome parish lady
Make her entrance like a queen
Why she was totally chenille
And her old man was a Marine
As she abused a sausage pattie
And said why don't you treat me mean?
(Hurt me, hurt me, hurt me, oooooh!)
At Saint Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast
(Hah! Good God! Get off the bus!)
Where I stole the mar-juh-reen . . .
Saint Alfonzo
Saint Alfonzo
Saint Alfonzo
Saint Alfonzo
Ooo-ooo-WAH . . .

Must listen beginning to end.....
This guy will ever get an ulcer.....he lets it all hang out.....
Now i know it's not unusual
it's nothing so unique
there's probably hundreds of wonderful love affairs
that go bad in this town every week
but all of them others
them sad-hearted lovers
could cry in their beer, what the hey
it didn't concern me
was none of my business
i never had nothin' to say ...
But suddenly darlin'
the table has turned
you have left me for somebody new
and now it's hard to express
the resentment i feel
for the years that i've wasted on you
but let me put this another way · ok?
I know it's not unusual
it's nothing so unique
there's probably hundreds of wonderful love affairs
that go bad in this town every week
but all of them others
them sad-hearted lovers
could cry in their beer, what the hey

But suddenly darlin'

you have left me for somebody new
and now it's hard to express

I'm full of h-a-t-r-e-d
i'm bitter and malign
you've got me
p-i-s-s-e-d off
i'm angry most of the time
why don't you
g-o t-o h-e-double"l"
you tramp
you philandering bitch
i'm going to k-i-l-l one of us baby
give me time and i'll decide on which
I know i'm acting immature
i'm acting like a child
i should display some self-control
instead of going wild like this
and i do wish i could accept all this
as simply "life" which includes pain
and act upon the actual fact
that nobody's to blame ...
oh, yes i wish i was as mellow
as for instance jackson browne
but "fountain of sorrow" my ass
mother fucker
i hope you wind up in the ground
I'm so full of h-a-t-r-e-d
i'm bitter and malign
you've got me
p-i-s-s-e-d off
i'm angry most of the time
why don't you
g-o t-o h-e-double"l"
you tramp
you philandering bitch
i'm going to
k-i-l-l one of us baby
when i'm sober i'll decide on which
(but then again, maybe with the proper counseling, we can work this out)
@ Tonio K
I had never heard of him and I listened to both of those songs when I looked him up...
I was gonna give someone else a chance to get the trivia but I guess we're the only ones on da dus again.
I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering. Fundamental differing.
Pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion
Disintegrating as it goes testing our communication
The light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so
We cannot seem to reach an end crippling our communication.
I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame, it doesn't mean I don't desire to
Point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over.
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication
The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it.
Finding beauty in the dissonance.
There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting
I've done the math enough to know the dangers of our second guessing.
Doomed to crumble unless we grow, and strengthen our communication.
Cold silence
has a tendency
to atrophy any
sense of compassion
between supposed lovers,
between supposed lovers,
I know the pieces fit [8x]
@dont forget Sarge.....
He's on ba dus....
reminds me of an old Harry Nilsson song....
Me and my Arrow
straighter than narrow
where ever we go
everyone knows
it's me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
taking the high road
where ever we go
everyone knows
it's me and my Arrow
And in the morning when I wake up
she may be gone
I don't know
and if we make up just to break up
I'll carry on
oh yes I will
Me and my Arrow
straighter than narrow
where ever we go
everyone knows
it's me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
Me and my Arrow
straighter than narrow
where ever we go
everyone knows
it's me and my Arrow

@you win....
Who in hell is that?
Matt said you liked Floyd......one of my faves.....really like early stuff....but after Syd Barrettt.....more, obscured by clouds, ummagumma and meddle
The path you tread is narrow and the drop is shear and very high
The ravens all are watching from a vantage point near by
Apprehension creeping like a choo-train up your spine
Will the tightrope reach the end; will the final cuplet rhyme
And it's high time
Cymbaline
It's high time
Cymbaline
Please wake me Butterfly with broken wings is falling by your side
The ravens all are closing in there's no where you can hide
Your manager and agent are both busy on the phone
Selling colored photographs to magazines back home
And it's high time
Cymbaline
It's high time
Cymbaline
Please wake me
The lines converging where you stand they must have moved the picture plane
The leaves are heavy around your feet you hear the thunder of the train
Suddenly it strikes you that they're moving into range
Doctor Strange is always changing size
And it's high time
Cymbaline
It's high time
Cymbaline
Please wake me And it's high time
Cymbaline
It's high time
Cymbaline
Please wake me
@ Dr. Strange
hehehe...band is Def Leppard off the Hysteria album.
Listened to them a lot in my hometown growing up. First dance in Junior high was to them.
Saw them in 2006 or so in STL with Styx, they still got it!
As for the Floyd, well what can I say. I remember watching the video to learning to fly when I was about 5 and I was hooked.
My first CD was Floyd, I asked my grandma to get me one for xmas and she bought me "a collection of great dance songs" I have the complete boxed set, etc.
I love old Floyd and all those you mentioned. Astronomy Domine is unmatched. I like Floyd post Waters too like the Division Bell but nothing was the same after Syd. (Shine on you crazy diamond)
The local rock stations play Money so much it almost stings my ears at this point. Which is a shame because the message is on point.
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever
@Only the Strange Remain....
True dat.....'cept when you were five....
Well, nuff said bout that.....
Collection of Great Dance Songs was a good start.....Money was remixed...and in your face....
First saw Floyd on a PBS show in 1973.... Some live in studio performance of Money....opened my eyes fo sho...
And I leave you with this little ditty.....
Stay and help me to end the day.
And of you don't mind,
We'll break a bottle of wine.
Stick around and maybe we'll put one down,
Because I wanna find what lies behind those eyes.
Midnight blue burning gold.
A yellow moon is growing cold.
I rise, looking through my morning eyes,
Surprised to find you by my side.
Rack my brain to try to remember your name
To find the words to tell you goodbye.
Morning dues.
Newborn day.
Midnight blue turn to gray.
Midnight blue burning gold.
A yellow moon is growing cold.
Take care, Sarge has ba dus for now.....
@ Blood Boiling
made the mistake of commenting on a friends Facebook post which was being trolled by certain extremists. Funny when they start to lose an arguement they start throwing insults.
Next motherfucker's gonna get my metal
On we plow
The big bully try to stick his finger in my chest
Try to tell me, tell me he's the best
But I don't really give a good goddamn cause
I got my lunchbox and I'm armed real well
I got my lunchbox and I'm armed real well
I got my lunchbox and I'm armed real well
I wanna grow up
I wanna be a big rock and roll star
I wanna grow up

So no one fucks with me
I got the pencils in my pocket, try to put me down
Wanna go out, gotta get out

Next motherfucker gonna get my metal
Next motherfucker gonna get my metal
Next motherfucker gonna get my metal
Next motherfucker
Pow pow pow, pow pow pow, pow pow pow, pow pow pow

I wanna be a big rock and roll star
I wanna grow up
So no one fucks with me
@Chillax.....
Facebook? Really? C'mon kid.....it's a piranha fest.....like virtual Shark week.....
try this....if it doesn't pacify then I don't know......
Take me home, Sarge.....
When we came to the station all the trains were rusty
The doors were open and the windows broken in
There was grass in all the cracks and the air hung musty
The travel posters were flapping in the wind
So we moved through the dust and gloom
Playing waiting games in the waiting-room
Lay our sleeping-bags out on the floor
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider
Leaves me here without a place to go
If I followed the coast road, I'd be home by evening
The harbour lights still cut across the bay
From the slot machine arcade the lights go streaming
To the bikes outside the rock 'n' roll cafe
Ah but you know those small town blues
Are really too much to lose
There's nothing really there to go back for
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider
Leaves me here without a place to go
Any railway station would be just fine, fine, fine
To settle down and wash the cobwebs from your head
Oh, if your situation's running dry, dry, dry
Find a waiting-room beneath the stars to make your bed'
Cause you know London can make your brain stall
The streets get cold and empty on a rainy night
So you duck into the subway station, you can hear the trains call
They want to take you to the Earl's Court Road, but it don't seem right
Cause it's na, na, na noowah
On the juke-box, singing in the burger bar
See the people's faces in the passing cars don't want to know
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider
Leaves me here without a place to go
You have the most appealing surface I have seen
Bring it over here, lay it down by me
Don't mean to make you nervous, I just mean
To make you see, this is the place to be
When we came to the station all the trains were rusty
The air was empty and the platforms overgrown
There were old tin cans and cats and the doors were crusted
With mud and leaves and names carved long ago
And the rails go on for ever in a silver trail to the setting sun
You can follow them anywhere you want to go
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with apple cider
Leaves me here without a need to know
@ I know, I know
I'm just really bored at work since the doctor I work for has been out of town.
I was just scrolling through friends' posts and thought I might try to correct someone's falsehood...big mistake. They enjoy telling lies.
Next up, unrelated song
Theres a port on a western bay
And it serves a hundred ships a day
Lonely sailors pass the time a way
And talk about their homes
Theres a girl in this harbor town
And she works laying whiskey down
They say Brandy, fetch another round
She serves them whisky and wine
The sailors say...
Chorus: Brandy, you're a fine girl
< you're a fine girl >
What a good wife you would be
Your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea
Brandy wears a braided chain
Made of finest silver from the north of spain
A locket that bears the name of the man that Brandy loves
He came on a summers day - bearing gifts - from far away
But he made it clear he couldnt stay
The harbor was his home
- Chorus -
Bridge: Brandy used to watch his eyes
As he told his sailor stories
She could feel the ocean fall and rise
She saw its raging glory
But he had always told the truth
Lord he was an honest man
And Brandy does her best to understand
At night when the bars close down
Brandy walks through a slient town
And loves a man who's not around
She still can hear him say
She hears him say...
@Brandy......you're a fine girl....
This one is for the bus.....and its inhabitants......
I remember to this day
The bright red Georgia clay
And how it stuck to the tires
After the summer rain
Will power made that old car go
A woman's mind told me that so
Oh how I wish
We were back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man
I can still recall
The wheat fields of St. Paul
And the morning we got caught
Robbing from an old hen
Old McDonald he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth
Another tank of gas
And back on the road again
I'll never forget the day
We motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin'
Down in my brain
Though it's only been a month or so
That old car's buggin' us to go
We've gotta get away and get back on
The road again
@ Boo
He turned thirty-five last Sunday In his hair he found some gray
But he still ain't changed his lifestyle
He likes it better the old way
So he grows a little garden in the back yard by the fence
He's consuming what he's growing nowadays in self defense
He get's out there in the twilight zone
Sometimes when it just don't make no sense
He gets off on country music
Cause disco left him cold
He's got young friends into new wave
But he's just too friggin' old
And he dreams at night of Woodstock and the day John Lennon died
How the music made him happy and the silence made him cry
Yeah he thinks of John sometimes
And he has to wonder why
[Chorus:]
He's an old hippie and he don't know what to do
Should he hang on to the old
Should he grab on to the new
He's an old hippie...his new life is just a bust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He's just trying real hard to adjust
He was sure back in the sixties that everyone was hip
Then they sent him off to Vietnam on his senior trip
And they forced him to become a man while he was still a boy
And in each wave of tragedy he waited for the joy
Now this world may change around him
But he just can't change no more
[Chorus]
Well, he stays away a lot now from the parties and the clubs
And he's thinking while he's joggin' 'round
Sure is glad he quit the hard drugs
Cause him and his kind get more endangered everyday
And pretty soon the species will just up and fade away
Like the smoke from that torpedo...just up and fade away
[Chorus]
@Boo Who?
People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,
People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,
People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.
@ merry go round
another one from left field...for Sarge
I get up, and nothing gets me down.
You got it tough. I've seen the toughest all around.
And I know, baby, just how you feel.
You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real
Oh can't you see me standing here,
I've got my back against the record machine
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean?
Might as well jump. Jump!
Might as well jump.
Go ahead, jump. Jump!
Go ahead, jump.
Aaa-ohh Hey you! Who said that?
Baby how you been?
You say you don't know, you won't know until you begin.
Well can't you see me standing here,
I've got my back against the record machine
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean?
Might as well jump. Jump!
Go ahead, jump.
Might as well jump. Jump!
Go ahead, jump.
[Guitar solo]
[Keyboard solo]
Might as well jump. Jump!
Go ahead, jump.
Get it and jump. Jump!
Go ahead, jump.
@Good night....
Irene Goodnight.....
I'll see you in my dreams!!!
You too Miami :-)
@ Sleep tight
Tomorrow is Hump Day woo hoo!
Dream weaver
I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Dream weaver
Dream weaver
Dream weaver
@Hump day, indeed...
I'm feeling mighty lonesomeHaven't slept a wink
I walk the floor and watch the door
And in between I drink
Black Coffee
Love's a hand me down brew
I'll never know a Sunday
In this weekday room
I'm talking to the shadows
1 o'clock to 4
And Lord, how slow the moments go
When all I do is pour
Black Coffee
Since the blues caught my eye
I'm hanging out on Monday
My Sunday dream's too dry
Now a man is born to go a lovin'
A woman's born to weep and fret
To stay at home and tend her oven
And drown her past regrets
In coffee and cigarettes
I'm moody all the morning
Mourning all the night
And in between it's nicotine
And not much hard to fight
Black Coffee
Feelin' low as the ground
It's driving me crazy just waiting for my baby
To maybe come around
My nerves have gone to pieces
My hair is turning gray
All I do is drink black coffee
Since my man's gone away
another cup, please...
There's a stain on my notebook Where your coffee cup was
And there's ash in the pages
Now I've got myself lost
I was writing to tell you
That my feelings tonight
Are a stain on my notebook
That rings your goodbye
With the way that you left me
I can hardly contain
The hurt and the anger
And the joy of the pain
Now knowing I am single
They'll be fire in my eyes
And a stain on my notebook
For a new love tonight
From the lips without passion
To the lips with a kiss
There's nothing of your love
That I'll ever miss
The stain on my notebook
Remain all that's left
Of the memory of late nights
And coffee in bed
Now she's gone
And I'm back on the beat
A stain on my notebook
Says nothing to me
Now she's gone
And I'm out with a friend
With lips full of passion
And coffee in bed
@a dus that brives itself?
Ohhh yeah.....
Wednesday is winding on down......
Disorder in the house
The tub runneth over
Plaster's falling down in pieces by the couch of pain
Disorder in the house
Time to duck and cover
Helicopters hover over rough terrain
Disorder in the house
Reptile wisdom
Zombies on the lawn staggering around
Disorder in the house
There's a flaw in the system
And the fly in the ointment's gonna bring the whole thing down
The floodgates are open
We've let the demons loose
The big guns have spoken
And we've fallen for the ruse
Disorder in the house
It's a fate worse than fame
Even the Lhasa Apso seems to be ashamed
Disorder in the house
The doors are coming off the hinges
The earth will open and swallow up the real estate
I just got my paycheck
I'm gonna paint the whole town grey
Whether it's a night in Paris or a Fresno matinee
It's the home of the brave and the land of the free
Where the less you know the better off you'll be
Disorder in the house
All bets are off
I'm sprawled across the davenport of despair
Disorder in the house
I'll live with the losses
And watch the sundown through the portiere
God I miss Warren Zevon......as much as Jerry....for different reasons.....
@ Ready Freddie
Hey hey hump day and I finally have work to do! Seeing patients in clinic makes the day go by so much faster.
Hope everyone on da dus is having a good day!
This thing called love I just can't handle it
this thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
This (This Thing) called love
(Called Love)
It cries (Like a baby)
In a cradle all night
It swings (Woo Woo)
It jives (Woo Woo)
It shakes all over like a jelly fish,
I kinda like it
Crazy little thing called love
There goes my baby
She knows how to Rock n' roll
She drives me crazy
She gives me hot and cold fever
Then she leaves me in a cool cool sweat
I gotta be cool relax, get hip
Get on my track's
Take a back seat, hitch-hike
And take a long ride on my motor bike
Until I'm ready
Crazy little thing called love
I gotta be cool relax, get hip
Get on my track's
Take a back seat, hitch-hike
And take a long ride on my motor bike
Until I'm ready (Ready Freddie)
Crazy little thing called love
This thing called love I just can't handle it
this thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
@workin' for a living...beats the alternative....
Keeping busy does make the clock tick a bit faster.....not that it's what we always want.....
It was late in December, the sky turned to snow
All round the day was going down slow
Night like a river beginning to flow
I felt the beat of my mind go
Drifting into time passages
Years go falling in the fading light
Time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
Well I'm not the kind to live in the past
The years run too short and the days too fast
The things you lean on are the things that don't last
Well it's just now and then my line gets cast into these
Time passages
There's something back here that you left behind
Oh time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
Hear the echoes and feel yourself starting to turn
Don't know why you should feel
That there's something to learn
It's just a game that you play
Well the picture is changing
Now you're part of a crowd
They're laughing at something
And the music's loud
A girl comes towards you
You once used to know
You reach out your hand
But you're all alone, in these
Time passages
I know you're in there, you're just out of sight
Time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
damn girl, I nailed that song.....
;-)
@ Nailed It!
Indeed you did.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell
Clinic is over, back in the back office now...
@Time.....keeps on ticking....into the future.....
On a Strawbs kick today.....
a spiritual offering.....on KDED....
let us pray.....
The wanderer has far to go
Humble must he constant be
Where the paths of wisdom lead
Distant is the shadow of the setting sun
Bless the daytime
Bless the night
Bless the sun which gives us light
Bless the thunder
Bless the rain
Bless all those who cause us pain
Yellow stars may lead the way
All diversions lead astray
While his resolution holds
Fortune and good will will surely follow him
Bless the free man
Bless the slave
Bless the hero in his grave
Bless the soldier
Bless the saint
Bless all those whose hearts grow faint

You're my secret
You're my inspiration
You're my journey
You're my destination
You have always
Been so close and yet so far away
You're my best friend
You're my total stranger
You're my lifeline
You're my hint of danger
You have always
Been so close and yet so far away
In my hour of need
I call on you
To comfort me
But you could only set me free
You're my memories
You're my Rock of Ages
You're my future
You're my empty pages
You have always
Been so close and yet so far away . .
@closing time on hump day....
Holly have a good evening....say high to Matt
Goodnight Irene, Goodnight
You too Jerry....wherever you are?
See you all in my dreams.....
This ones for Elaine, my wife of 31 years.....
why she stayed with me, God knows and he ain't talkin'
Hit it Sarge.....
I need your sweet inspiration
I need you here on my mind every hour of the day
Without your sweet inspiration
The lonely hours of the night just don't go my way
A man in love needs sweet inspiration
And honey that's all I ask, that's all I ask from you
I gotta have sweet inspiration
You know there's just no telling what a satisfied man might do
If I'm out in the rain baby
In a bad situation
I just reach back in my mind to find
Sweet inspiration
Sweet, oh what a power
And I've got the power every hour in the day
I need your sweet inspiration
To go on livin' to keep on givin' this way
Sweet, sweet inspiration
Aloha!
@ Ralph and Alice
man, you guys have been married since I was 1 year old.
CONGRATS!
You musta done somethin' right for her to keep you around.
Say hi to her from Matt and I. And to Junior as well. BTW how was his show the other night?
Catch ya on the flip side
Sometimes I feel like i am leaving life behind
My hands are moving faster than the movement of my mind
Thoughts and generations of my dreams are yet unborn
I hope that I will find them 'fore my moving gets too worn
If only I could live to see the dawning of the dawn
So we go on moving trying to make this image real
Straining every nerve not knowing what we really feel
Straining every nerve ending and everybody sees
That what they read in the Rolling Stone has really come to be
And trying to avoid a taste of that reality
On an early New York mornin' a mirror in the hall
Showed to me a face I didn't know at all
Lines were drawn around a pair of eyes that opened wide
When I looked into the mouth there was nothing left inside
So I walked into the little room and whistled like a sigh
As dawn light closed around me my head was still in gear
Thinking thoughts of playing more and singing loud and clear
Trying to reach a friend somewhere and make that person smile
Maybe pull myself away from that old lonesome mile
That often comes to haunt me in the morning
All my friends keep telling me that it would be a shame
To break up such a grand success and tear apart a name
But all I know is what I feel whenever I'm not playin'
Emptiness ain't where it's at and neither's feeling pain
Well now what is going to happen now is anybody's guess
If I can't spend my time with love I guess I need a rest
Time is getting late now and the sun is getting low
My body's getting tired of carryin' another's load
And sunshine's waiting for me a little further down the road
@Norton n Trixie....
Hey, I called you Trixie.....
Yeah, it's been a long hard road here in da Buff.....
To quote Tom Waits....
Ain't got no spare, ain't got no jack....
Don't give a shit...ain't goin back....
Life's been good to me so far......
She got high on lovin'
Sorry but I'm passing through
Maybe I got a toothpick
In the bottom of my walkin' shoes
This ain't a town for tear drops
Or tattoo regrets
Nah, yeah
Sneakin' out the back way
In the middle of a starry night
Ain't gonna be remembered
For all the things that I did right
Can't say I need you, can't say I don't
But I won't
And no need to miss me when I'm gone
And no need to miss me when I'm gone
And no need to miss me when I'm gone
And no need to miss me when I'm gone
I wouldn't have very long
@ Trixie Norton
I am known to shoot a good game of pool. I sorta grew up in a pool hall...that might explain a lot.
Queen's greatest hits was my 2nd CD, my dad bought it for me.
Ooh, you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you, you're all I see
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
You're the best friend
That I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
You're my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
I've been wandering round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl
I'm happy at home (happy at home)
You're my best friend.
Ooh, you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
You're my best friend
Ooh, you make me live.
I'm happy, happy at home
You're my best friend
You're my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
You, you're my best friend.
@How sweet it is.......to be......
hammmana hammmana....
baby, you're the greatest!!!!!!
@ Awww Shucks...
Why thank you. Have yourself a good evening, pat Sarge on the head for me.
There's colors on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' their feet
People sleepin' in their shoes
But there's a warnin' sign
on the road ahead
There's a lot of people sayin'
we'd be better off dead
Don't feel like Satan,
but I am to them
So I try to forget it,
any way I can.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
I see a woman in the night
With a baby in her hand
Under an old street light
Near a garbage can
Now she puts the kid away,
and she's gone to get a hit
She hates her life,
and what she's done to it
There's one more kid
that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love,
never get to be cool.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
We got a thousand points of light
For the homeless man
We got a kinder, gentler,
Machine gun hand
We got department stores
and toilet paper
Got styrofoam boxes
for the ozone layer
Got a man of the people,
says keep hope alive
Got fuel to burn,
got roads to drive.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
@yes Miami ...that was directed your way.......
Just keep on keeping on....

Woke up this mornin'
My head was so bad
The worst hangover
I ever had
What happened to me that night
That girl of mine
She love me so right
She love me so long
She love me so hard
I finally passed out in her front yard
It wasn't wine I had too much of
It was a double shot of my baby's love
A double shot of my baby's love
Yeah yeah yeah
A double shot of my baby's love
Yeah yeah yeah
A portion that I had too much of
A double shot of my baby's love
Give me such a thrill
It was very unique
Man, I was lookin' in ecstacy
She had me turnin' flips
And shoutin' out loud
A shot of her love
I was walkin' on a cloud
One night a week
Is plenty enough
It's a good thing for me
They don't bottle this stuff
Well, my heart begins to fly like a dove
When I take a double shot of my baby's love
A double shot of my baby's love
Yeah yeah yeah
A double shot of my baby's love
Yeah yeah yeah
A portion that I had too much of
A double shot of my baby's love
Woke up this mornin'
My head was so bad
The worst hangover
I ever had
What happened to me that night
That girl of mine
She love me so right
She love me so long
She love me so hard
I finally passed out in her front yard

stop me if I've gone too far...I can get carried away...
I want to live,
I want to give
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching for a heart of gold.
And I'm getting old.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold.
I've been in my mind,
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold.
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold.
You keep me searching and I'm growing old.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.

Light up your lazy blue eyes
Moon's up nights up
Taking the town by surprise
Night time, night time
Day left an hour ago
City light fine
Must you get ready so slow
Night in the city looks pretty to me
Night in the city looks fine
Music comes spilling out into the street
Colors go flashing in time, oh
Take off, take off
Take off your stay at home shoes
Break off shake off
Take off those stay at home blues
Stairway, stairway
Down to the crowds in the street
They go their way
Looking for faces to greet
But we run on laughing no one to meet
Night in the city looks pretty to me
(City, city)
Night in the city looks fine
Music comes spilling out into the street
(Music comes spilling out into the street)
Colors go waltzing in time, oh

@Its just like any other day....
Good morning America, how are you?
I can still feel all your sunlight shine before the dawn
First light morning feeling's got me losing so much sleep
I just can't say how much I miss you when you're gone
'Cause I get a feeling something like a summer wind
When you love me like a sister, then you're gone again
But there's so much light shining in your eyes
That you just can't help but keep a love alive
Now I hear some other loving sunshine brother's
Left you crying and you're all alone
So dry your eyes and try and say your goodbyes
'Cause you're old enough to get back on your feel all on your own
Don't you kind of get a feeling like a summer wind
'Cause he loved you like a brother, now he's gone again
But there's still a lot of love light in your eyes
And you sure know how to keep a man alive
Well you can stand right there and tell me something's wrong
It's so hard to know your problems when you're gone
So, early morning riser
There's not much more I can do to try and make things right
If you need another sunshine brother
I can be right there beside you by the early morning light
And I'll forget that feeling like a summer wind
And I'll probably start to think about you now and then
But there's still a lot of light shining in your eyes
And you still know how to keep a love alive
Coffee is on.....
and I've always preferred Phillips to slotted....
Marley coffee? Meh...
Your breath is sweetYour eyes are like two jewels in the sky
Your back is straight, your hair is smooth
On the pillow where you lie
But I don't sense affection
No gratitude or love
Your loyalty is not to me
But to the stars above
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your daddy he's an outlaw
And a wanderer by trade
He'll teach you how to pick and choose
And how to throw the blade
He oversees his kingdom
So no stranger does intrude
His voice it trembles as he calls out
For another plate of food
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your sister sees the future
Like your mama and yourself
You've never learned to read or write
There's no books upon your shelf
And your pleasure knows no limits
Your voice is like a meadowlark
But your heart is like an ocean
Mysterious and dark
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below

Good Morning Daydreamers! The sun is shining, the weather is sweet.
got the radio on...Pure Prarie League
I can see why you think you belong to me,
I never tried to make you think,
Or let you see one thing for yourself,
And now you're off with someone else and I'm alone,
You see I thought I might keep you for my own.
Amie, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you,
For a while maybe longer if I do.
Don't you think the time is right for us to find,
That all the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time,
Can't you see which way we should turn together or alone,
I can never see what's right or what is wrong,
'Cause that take too long to see now.
Amie, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you,
For a while maybe longer if I do.
Come on now,
Amie, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you,
For a while maybe longer if I do.
Now it's come to what you want, you've had your way,
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray,
And can you see that I don't know if it's you or it's me,
But if it's one of us I'm sure we both will see, yeah,
Won't you look at me and tell me.
Amie, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you,
For a while maybe longer if I, longer if I do.
Amie, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you,
For a while maybe longer if I do.
I keep fallin' in and out of love with you,
Fallin' in and out of love with you,
Don't know what I'm gonna do,
I keep fallin' in and out of love with you
@birds of a feather.....
CDs in mail tomorrow....
sorry but the goddamn ape ate all my Oreos....
Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee
They’re throwing knives into the tree
Two big bags of dead man’s bones
Got their noses to the grindstones
Living in the Land of Nod
Trustin’ their fate to the Hands of God
They pass by so silently
Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee
Well, they’re going to the country, they’re gonna retire
They’re taking a street car named Desire
Looking in the window at the pecan pie
Lot of things they’d like they would never buy
Neither one gonna turn and run
They’re making a voyage to the sun
“His Master’s voice is calling me”
Says Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee
Tweedle-dee Dee and Tweedle-dee Dum
All that and more and then some
They walk among the stately trees
They know the secrets of the breeze
Tweedle-dee Dum said to Tweedle-dee Dee
“Your presence is obnoxious to me”
They’re like babies sittin’ on a woman’s knee
Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee
Well, the rain beating down on my window pane
I got love for you and it’s all in vain
Brains in the pot, they’re beginning to boil
They’re dripping with garlic and olive oil
Tweedle-dee Dee—he’s on his hands and his knees
Saying, “Throw me somethin’, Mister, please”
“What’s good for you is good for me”
Says Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee
Well, they’re living in a happy harmony
Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee
They’re one day older and a dollar short
They’ve got a parade permit and a police escort
They’re lying low and they’re makin’ hay
They seem determined to go all the way
They run a brick-and-tile company
Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee
Well a childish dream is a deathless need
And a noble truth is a sacred dream
My pretty baby, she’s lookin’ around
She’s wearin’ a multi-thousand dollar gown
Tweedle-dee Dee is a lowdown, sorry old man
Tweedle-dee Dum, he’ll stab you where you stand
“I’ve had too much of your company,”
Says Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee
@ Oh NO Oreo

Summer days, summer nights are gone
Summer days and summer nights are gone
I know a place where there's still somethin' going on
I've got a house on the hill, I got hogs out in the mud
I've got a house on the hill, I got hogs all out in the mud
I've got a long haired woman, she got royal Indian blood
Everybody get ready, lift up your glasses and sing
Everybody get ready, lift up your glasses and sing
Well I'm standin' on the table, I'm proposin' a toast to the king
I'm driving in the flats in a Cadillac car
The girls all say "You're a worn out star"
My pockets are loaded, and I'm spending every dime
How can you say you love someone else,
you know it's me all the time
Well the fog's so thick you can't spy the land
Well the fog's so thick that you can't even spy the land
what good are you anyway if you can't stand up to some old businessman
Weddin' bells are ringin' and the choir is beginning to sing
Yes, the weddin' bells are ringin' and the choir's beginning to sing
What looks good in the day, at night is another thing
She's looking in to my eyes, and she's a-holding my hand
She looks in to my eyes, she's holding my hand
she say, "you can't repeat the past,"
I say "You can't? What do you mean you can't?
Of course you can."
Where do you come from, where do you go?
Sorry, that is nothing you would need to know
Well, my back's been to the wall so long it seems like it's stuck
Why don't you break my heart one more time, just for good luck
I got eight carburators and boys I'm usin' 'em all
well, I got eight carburators and boys I'm usin' 'em all
I'm short on gas, my motor's startin' to stall
My dogs are barking, there must be someone around
My dogs are barking, there must be someone around
I got my hammer ringin' pretty baby, but the nails ain't goin' down
If you got something to say, speak or hold your peace
Well, if you got something to say, speak now or hold your peace
If it's information you want, you can get it from the police
Politician's got on his joggin' shoes
he must be runnin' for office, got no time to lose
suckin' the blood out of the genius of generosity
you been rollin' your eyes, you been teasin' me
Standin' by God's river my soul's beginning to shake
Standin' by God's river my soul's beginning to shake
I'm countin' on you, love, to gimme a break
I'm leaving in the morning, as soon as the dark clouds lift
I'm leaving in the morning, as soon as the dark clouds lift
I'm breakin' the roof, set fire to the place as a partin' gift
Summer days, summer nights are gone

@ Wayne Coyne
I've seen the Flaming Lips twice in STL.
The 2nd time I dressed up as Wonder Woman and was given a backstage pass while waiting in line outside the venue.
During the show Wayne was swinging his mechanic light around his head and he lost control of it and it hit the bassist in the arm and then hit wayne in the head pretty hard. The bassist had to stop playing for a second.
When I went backstage to meet Wayne he had a huge goose egg on his head and probably a concussion.
He told me that when she would come on tour his wife would always dress as Wonder Woman too.
He was the most down to earth guy and met and shook everyones hand even though he shoud have been in the ER. The rest of the band wasn't present for that.
Waiting, for the Ambulance to come
Hoping that it doesn't come too late
Hearing the sirens in the distance
Hold on help is on the way.
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm right here beside her
Though I live somehow I frown
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Wishing that I was the one that wasn't here anymore
The one that wasn't here anymore
The one that wasn't here anymore
Oh we can't trade places
Our lives are strangely our own
Mr. Ambulance Driver
Tell me
For everyone that dies
Someone new is born
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm right here beside her
And though I live somehow I frown
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Cause wishing I was the one that
Wasn't gonna be here anymore.
Mr. Ambulance Driver
Though I live
Somehow I found
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Cause wishin I was the one that wasn't here anymore
The one that wasn't here anymore
@here I come to save the day!
Wayne Coyne and the Lips record in Dunkirk NY where my son goes to college....he met him and had a meet n greet at Starbucks accidentally....and you are spot on....per Scotty, Wayne is one cool character, without ego or pretension......
this song was not written for him.....
You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye on the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and...
You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you
You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't You?
You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive
Well you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and...
I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and...
Well I hear you went up to Saratoga and your horse naturally won
Then you flew your lear jet up to Nova Scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun
Well you're where you should be all the time
And when you're not you're with
Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend
Wife of a close friend, and...
@ Confetti
and I still have some confetti from the Lips shows...
I thought I was smart, I thought I was right
I thought it better not to fight
I thought there was a virtue in always being cool
So when it came time to fight,
I thought I'll just step aside and that the time would prove you wrong
And that you would be the fool
I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins,
It's all a mystery
Oh to fight is to defend if it's not now than tell me when
Would be the time that you would stand up and be a man
For to lose I could accept, but to surrender I just wept and regretted this moment
Oh that I, I was the fool
I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins,
It's all a mystery
And I don't know how a man decides what's right for his own life,
It's all a mystery
Cause I'm a man not a boy and there are things you can't avoid,
You have to face them when you're not prepared to face them
If I could, I would, but you're with him now it'd do no good
I should have fought him but instead I let him-
I let him take it
I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins,
It's all a mystery
And I don't know how a man decides what right for his own life
It's all a mystery
@pardon my French....

[Coquette:] He was a pimp
In a black beret
But he was an artiste
In his own way
[Girls:] Going Oh La La La
Oh La La La La
[Coquette:] When they raided my club that night
They ruined my act with the leather umbrella
the Chief de Police got a fright
He was up in my boudoir with some other fella
[Club Clientelle:] It's only routine
But I got this feeling
It ain't good for business
[Narrator:] Then the floor cleared
A woman screamed to herself
[Henri's Lover:] Henri...Though you're not the toast of Paris
I love you, although you bed and beat me
Henri, leave it alone,
For the gendarme's just doing his job
[Narrator:] Paris is only one step away
[Chorus:] Murder is only one step away
[Everyone:] Notre Dame is ringing her bells
Another gendarme has gone to Hell
Notre Dame is ringing her bells
Another gendarme has gone to Hell
gone to Hell
gone to Hell
gone to Hell
[Whole Cast:] One night in Paris
Is like a year in any other place
One night in Paris
Will wipe the smile off your pretty face
One girl in Paris
Is like loving every woman
This night in Paris
This night in Paris
This night in Paris
This night in Paris
May be your last!!!
@ OOH La la
est -ce qu'il va tomber en amour?
I have been a rover since I was a child,
No one to love or care for me.
Knocked around all over, kinda grew up wild -
My home's wherever I may be.
Ain't no someone yearnin', wonderin' where I be;
I'm gone, but no one's missin' me;
Ain't no light a-burnin' ev'ry night for me;
I'm like a bird that's flyin' free.
(Melody:)
I'm just breezin' along with the breeze,
Trailin' the rails, roamin' the seas.
Like the birdies that sing in the trees,
Pleasin' to live, livin' to please.
(Bridge:)
The sky is the only roof I have over my head;
And when I'm weary, Mother Nature makes my bed.
I'm just goin' along as I please,
Breezin' along with the breeze.
@if I was from Paris...I'd say....
I'm a roaming cowboy riding all day long,
Tumbleweeds around me sing their lonely song.
Nights underneath the prairie moon,
I ride along and sing this tune.
See them tumbling down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.
Cares of the past are behind
Nowhere to go but I'll find
Just where the trail will wind
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.
I know when night has gone
That a new world's born at dawn.
I'll keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.

Roll On
Reach a hand to the crescent moon
grab hold of the hollow
If she sits in the palm of the left
that moon will be fuller tomorrow
If she sits in the palm of the right
that moon is on the wane
and the love of the one who shares your bed
will be doing just the same
'Won't you come with me', she said,
'there's plenty of room in my iron bed
You're looking cold and tired
and more than a little human
I know I'm not part of the life you had planned,
but I think once your body feels my hand
your mind will change
and your heart will lose its pain'
Out among the fields gently hipped
beneath the corn,
Assiniboine bones beneath the highway
he stood there and he thought of home
A finger traces the path of a satellite
You're drawn to a distant copse of trees
A voice as sweet as Mare's Tail
clings to the prairie breeze
'Won't you come with me', she said,
'there's plenty of room in my iron bed
You're looking cold and tired
and more than a little human
I know I'm not part of the life you had planned,
but I think once your body feels my hand
your mind will change
and your heart will lose its pain'
Do I reach for you
when I know you're on the wane?
Do I sense you when I know you're not around?
Do I search for you
when I know you can't be found?
Do I dare to speak your name?
Raise your eyes to a moonless sky
and try to wish upon a rising star
Search all you want for her blessing
but you won't find her sparkling there
Now cast your eyes to a part of the sky
where nothing but darkness unfolds
and watch as all around you
she reveals the brilliance of secrets untold
Won't you come with me, she said,
there's plenty of room in my iron bed
You're looking cold and tired
and more than a little human
I know I'm not part of the life you had planned,
but I think once your body feels my hand
your mind will change
and your heart will lose its pain
@Shut up Donnie, you're out of your element.... ;-)
The clock on the wall say two o'clock....last call....
A one and a two and a three.....
Good night, good night until we meet again
Adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen 'til then
And though it's always sweet sorrow to part
You know you'll always remain in my heart
Good night, sleep tight and pleasant dreams to you
Here's a wish and a prayer that every dream comes true
And now 'til we meet again
Adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
Good Night!
Good night, sleep tight and pleasant dreams to you
Here's a wish and a prayer that every dream comes true
And now 'til we meet again
Adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
Good Night!
Good night Irene, Goodnight....
You too Trixie.....
I'll see you in my dreams.....
