    etc. Dicks Pick No. 2
2stages; remembered as so much larger a hall than is. Nice picture of this hall exists on the web: (http://www.shrineauditorium.com/expohall.html)Country Joe and the Fish were the headliner; GD being kinda an inside zoom for the town, still. "Pulse" was actually the first coordinated "Vibe reactive light show" - this one dude showed up with congas and bongos and zapped the hall with zoots of light that matched his rhythum..actually incredulous crowd delighted in this first attempt not unlike the lights that pulse outward from a mirrored ball; good as an appetizer for the rest of the music. "Spirit" (first album by same name) was one of the best live bands i ever heard. It is impossible to duplicate the energy and impression of their works on album. Uncle Jack's enthusiam is only topped by the likes of Ginger Baker and Billy & Mickey. My friends wouldn't wander about, i was so impatient i've never recovered. The GD set was waaaay over thar; and i could but only imagine the joy of the clustered peoples. Dicks Pick No. 2 "Two from the Vault"
