My wife has a big birthday Saturday...yes she shares it with JG. While she is not a deadhead, she went to and had a blast July 4 in chicago....well, to keep the feeling going...she chose to see a mighty fine GD tribute band on her big birthday. I am shocked that is what she chose but I'm glad!

It's still possible to get back issues of Golden Road from the source (Blair Jackson), at least most of them, but I could be wrong. I'll ask him. Otherwise, I'd do a search of ebay and see what the particular issues you have are going for these days. Note that people ask all kinds of insane prices and don't get them; look at what actually selling, or at least getting bids, to get an idea of the actual interest EDIT: yes, says Blair: "I have a lot of the issues for sale, but not all of them. I charge $7 for the regular issues and $12 for the two annuals, postage included. Check or M.O. only. They can inquire to me directly..." .

Hi guys...I'm Charlie...last year I went to Oklahoma to visit some family and friends. We went to this estate sale and I bought a bunch of magazines old magazines with cool art on them...I recently went through them again and looked up The Golden Road...and found out it was Greatful Dead's Magazine...how cool right!? Some of the are from the early 80's in perfect condition with the original plastic wrappers. I have a question...how much would they be worth? If you have any information regarding the Magazines let me know... ccabret87@gmail.com and thanks again.

Still recovering from two fantastic nights of Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band in London just before Jerry week. 24 years since Phil played in London, and there he was in a small club delighting a rare gathering of surviving UK deadheads and London based US folks. And we all got to celebrate when Grahame Lesh's engagement was announced on stage with champagne and roses. So special for us Euroheads, to reconnect and know that the spirit of what Garcia and the others created is still alive and well (if a little creaky in the bones these days).

I'm really glad this is finally out, and we had a nice (if geriatric) scene at our theater... Anybody going to the Giants game? The Jerry Day show?

Thanks for that link. Very nice of Patti Smith to write this. I am reading "Dark Star, An Oral Biography of Jerry Garcia" this week.
