dead comment
Someone (not me) once said
that a Mass. Dead Show was usually about midway between a church carnival and a full-scale riot. High-energy audience, and music to match. This was my third show and the most fun I ever had crushing up against the front. Anyone else remember how the stadium seats emptied and the floor filled the second the lights went out? Phil & the drummers drove this one, along with a particularly rambunctious Brent. A real crowd-pleaser.
Springfield Civic Center
Went with a friend and her sister. We were so young and had never seen anything quite like that crowd, we were SCARED!!!
I was born on this night
I was born at 11:53 PM on 10-24-79 I am a drummer, and I believe that the boys were probably playing "drums" while I was being delivered...
fear and loathing in New England
this was the beginning of a fun week or so of shows. Lost sailor/saint was new and different. Scarlet/fire very nice.
Scared is right
The crowd was wild that night. I was 2nd person from barriers and some guy pulls out a 9 buck knife and starts threatening folks. You couldn't move to get away.
