I agree, it is a lot a money but TOTALLY WORTH IT! Especially for me since I am someone who is too young to have seen them play together. This is my first chance to see them all in their amazing glory. Keeping my fingers crossed that the Hubby will say yes!! He wasn't too happy when I told him the ticket prices so we will see how toinights conversation goes. :P

Money may be tight, ticket prices may be high but I'm so happy to see another show!!! Southerntam I'm still excited as the day I found out. I paid $100 to see the Allman brothers and won't do that again but the Dead, any ticket is a good ticket.

Okay southerntam, I shall think positive. Our nosebleed seats probably won't be so bad because we will be able to move pretty far up due to the fact that these venues will be half full. How's that for optimism!? I never thought in a million years that I would be disappointed about a Dead show, but I do feel partly disappointed. Good for anyone that can afford these floor prices, but I certainly cannot. I repeat the earlier sentiments about the $30 DSO shows. I am so, so sad right now.

As for me, I decided I was okay with buying a ticket to a show, one show, regardless of the price. It'll cost me about the same as what all the Grateful Dead tickets cost me when I was going to shows between '76-'84, when you consider what I made an hour then v. now and what the tickets went for then v. now. They may not be the Good Ol' Grateful Dead, but they are the best Dead you'll ever see now. Live music isn't cheap. It never really has been and that's why it's a special night when you can go out and hear your favorite bands play out. Times are tough though and I realize a lot of folks who were hoping to go to a show or two on this tour will have to to think twice about it. I'm only going to one and that's mainly due to the fact that it does cost more money than before and that I need to work extra hard right now to keep up with expenses. But don't blame the band for going for the kind of money that other classic rock and jazz bands have been making for most of the past 10-15 years. It costs a lot to produce an arena tour and any band that takes on this kind of an enterprise will charge as much as it takes to recoup their expenses and to make the kind of money they feel they can reasonably make, given the market If you can go and you want to, make it happen. I was so excited about hitting the Greensboro show, already had the hotel booked and everything (for cheaper than the ticket I might add). Now I don't have enought mone to buy the actual ticket! I am really going to have to sweet talk my husbind on this one. I know it will be worth the money, but coming up with the extra money is the problem. I'm sad that the economy has led everyone to having to put a second mortgage on their homes to see some shows, LOL!! I wish everyone the best of luck getting your tickets!! I'm sending good vibes out to everyone!! ~ Peace

Starting to feel like I'm the only happy one around here today...where's the love? We all started this thread so happy and excited and now it's turned to negativity because of ticket prices. Really....is this how we're going to do it? I, for one, am still excited and if I have to sit further back because I can't afford front row floor seats, then that's how it has to be and I"ll be just as happy - because I'm there. Again, let's think positive!!!!!

I was hoping to hit 2 or 3 shows, despite the strain that such a trip would put on my already overtaxed budget. But $100 a show? Who are they kidding? Now, I'm no fool - I understand the economic realities of putting on a show. It's not the '90s anymore, let alone the '60s. But as others have pointed out, many bands seem to be able to play similar venues at much lower prices. Anyway, I'll be taking a pass this year. Thanks for the memories boys, and do let me know if you're ever interested in playing for the average fan instead of the wealthy elite.

I can see paying $102.00 for good seats on the tour. From what I see I can wind up in nosebleed seats for that price. I looked, the $59.00 seating is behind stage. Most shows I go to have a mid-ground price. I was to try & go to a few show's but now I can only do one. Hey, Bobby & or Phil if you read this. How about a free ticket. Only kidding. Well Maybe.

So last night's May 2nd show at The Spectrum was my first show ever. My girlfriend and I went down Friday night to hang in Shakedown, and Saturday night for Shakedown and the show. The show was absolutely amazing, and I'm extremely glad I got to see them play their very last show at The Spectrum. I would have to say the only real downside was the chocolates we got off Snodgrass were way weak, and it kinda of brought my night down a bit. But no worries, I still enjoyed seeing them tear the Spectrum down regardless...I just hope they tour again sometime and I get a chance to REALLY experience the show. The Philly cops were a major downer post-show, shutting down Shakedown even earlier on Night 2 than on Night 1....From everything I heard it was because of some dumbass (not even there FOR THE DEAD) hit some security dude over the head over a nitrous tank....and in my opinion, the nitrous guys were the bane of Shakedown...the people with those tanks weren't there for The Dead they were just there making money off people and attracting negative attention from security and the cops...but other than that, Shakedown Street was extremely cool. My girlfriend and I will definitely be setting up our own little shop next time The Dead come into town :)

Man, I can't begin to explain the positive and loving vibes in the lot as well as the show:) It reminded me of one of the last shows I caught in 1994 at Buckeye Lake. The boys are playing quite well together and the energy is amazing!!! Seeing how I embarked on a spiritual adventure the night before, I toned it down and sisnt eat so much "enhancers" the 2nd night:) Both set lists the 2nd night was spectacular. I got to hear my MORNING DEW for the first time on this tour:) And I think 90% of the crowd new that SAMSON & DELILAH was gonna be the encore, and it was an excellent encore:) Thank you all!!! Dead.net friends, Thank you all (GIgi, Snodgrass, Techgurl,Rooster, Chuck...and all the rest) Thank you guys!!! You are my true FAMILY and I can't wait to see you all again at another show!!!:)Peace- Moye

Hey all. I've gotta miss this spring tour (though the boys are playing tonite right by my house). I took a gamble and decided not to see the indoor shows this spring. Haven't been to a show since Jerry's last one in 95. Anyone hear of any summer dates? I'm tempted to check out Rothbury in July but I was REALLY hoping for a summer outdoor show at Alpine Valley. I'm LOVING the setlists and the sound of the band this spring! This 'ol deadhead is on pins and needles!

I dont think there will be any Summer Tour dates as The Dead..Due to the RD summer tour and the AB summer tour..Unless they can Clone Jeff,Bobby and Warren and they can be 2 places at once! Hey,There's an idea(LOL) But judging from the amount of fun and how AWESOME this band sounds,I wouldn't rule out a fall tour and beyond..I think they're gonna ride it till the wheels fall off....And they should!!! :-) On a side note...I was wondering if anyone is familiar with a poster I seen many years ago that has License plates on it from all 50 states,All with some kind of Dead related vanity on it, ie: DRK-STR and at the top it just says "WE ARE EVERYWHERE" Please PM me if anyone has seen this or knows how to get it...Thank-You,My brothers and My sisters...peace, G :-)

Thanks, Twinz. I'm a little bummed, I haven't been to a show in like 14 years and I wanted the next one I see to be summertime.....chill parking lot scene.....lawn seats......you know, the *perfect* scene! Then I saw the boys are playing the Allstate Arena by me.....UGH! That place is a barn with horrible acoustics overall pretty opressive....exactly what I DIDN'T want my return-show to be! So I skipped out on this one cuz it seemed like they were gearing up for a summer tour. I'm hoping i'll be able to catch em at Rothbury in July. Perhaps I'll catch the fall tour, even IF it's indoors :-\",0"

It's been a week since my last show of four I was able to catch on this tour and I have to say that getting out to see the boys play again was beyond my expectations. From the crazy setlists and getting to hear songs I never thought I'd get to hear live to the great vibe on Shakedown to the friendly folks I met along the way, the whole experience was amazingly good and positive. I was close to dropping another 95 bucks a ticket to get obstructed view tix for the Philly shows but didn't. After seeing the setlists I wish I had but I have faith they'll be back out there again before too long. I'll catch Bobby at the Vibes in July and then hope for a fall tour! I know there have been naysayers who were disappointed with flubbed lyrics, slow tempos, Warren etc, but I have to say that the minor flaws were far outshined by the incredible music. Warren is hitting his stride and is able to sing the jerry tunes and do them justice. he's got kind of a Jerry/Pigpen/Brent sound to his voice and IMO he fits right in. Jeff is a monster on the keys and his addition to Drumz just brought it that much further out there for me. Last but not least Bobby, Phil, Mickey and Billy are still right in there and are pushing the music to a new place, all shining in theor own rights. Cheers to the (Grateful) Dead for taking it back on the road and here's to a hopefully long run! I, for one, will be there until they decide to hang it up for good.

Sorry dude, needless to say you are out of luck on the hair follicle test, unless you shave your head and they have nothing to test. There is no getting around that no matter what you hear. NO you cannot bleach it out, strip it, or any other remedies you may run across on the www. only way to pass is not to do anything to make you fail! i know, it sucks.

was kind of surprized that the Brendyn Byrne Meadowlands (Izod for you youngins) shows were no where near sold out... or was there some other reason for the black curtain covering the top back tier facing the stage?? we got miracled (from an old friend) with seats in the 3rd row right in front of Branford for the Tuesday show, that was fucking awesome. caught 8 shows. all in all, a grate tour!! I was actually rather proud of myself that i did NOT, like in the old daze, try to get to every show humanly possible (once we got that green light from the calvary) like, we did NOT drive all the way up to Albany... if you are anywhere near the rest of the shows, I got one word: GO!! now, we done.

Your lucky man, I heard those shows, man, there killer. It wasn't sold out you say? Hmmm....Thats odd... Out of all 3 shows on this tour i caught (not including the Penn show) i'd have to say the first night at the Spectrum was the most magical:) The second night had better set lists tho..You Know tho, I thoght they would of encored with Samson & Delilah into> Brokendown Palace... You know, "id tear this old building down, Now lets leave this brokendown palace" Either way, what ever the dead play, ITS ALWAYS GRATE!!! 5/5 Cinco De Mayo..........My first ever Dead show. Arrive at the lot around 5:00. We walked around, bought some beverages, ate some goodies, bought some handmade jewlery, always fun!!! Around show time we decided it was time to go to our seats. So feelin real good by then we get in the security line, and just when we thought we were in the clear, a BitchPig grabs my purse and starts rummaging, found my concealed bottle of Jack and confiscated it!! Brand New bottle!!! I was pissed but not as pissed as when we got inside and I paid $7.50 for a Mia-Tia!!! Beareaucratic Buzzkill!!!!! Then it was showtime and the boys started playin and the magic started happenin. My neighbors were nice enough to share some love (if youknow what I mean) and then I was groovin. Later in the show my son also shared a little love with me too. How cool!!! I almost cried during Unbroken Chain and then I lost my mind when they played Hell in a Bucket, one of my top ten favorite Dead songs!!!!!!!! I left the show that night feelin like a kid who just got everthing they wanted for Christmas!!!!! 5/5 Chicago was a show beyond description and it will live in my memory forever!!!!!!!!!! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home... I Miss Jerry

not sure if there was some other reason for the big black curtain over those upper sections at Byrne, but certainly those shows were'nt sold out. it would be interesting to know which shows actually 'sold out' and did not have any tickets at the box office on the day of the shows... yeah, a Brokedown Palace after that Sampson in Philly would have been sweet... ( -; dilema with the Dead these daze is once Phil makes his donor rap, you know there will only be one more tune... especially after they take their bows. would have been nice if after that on a few shows they picked up the guitars once more... the only really COOL surprise I saw was the opening of the second set with the drumz because the first set had been so long, forgot which show that was. during the 10-12 shows I saw during the 2004 tour, they played LATE numerous nights... and that was after Hunter or Warren had opened! so those were pretty cool, I though. I especially dug seeing Hunter opening! I am looking forward to trying to get to some Rat Dog shows this summer, Jackie Greene is opening!!!!!!!!! personally, I'd also love to see a combo Phil & Friends / Ratdog tour one of these daze, less hype, no hassles with crappy technology pre-sales, less asshole scalpers... that don't mean to say I think anything wrong is with the Dead, had lots of fun there, too. good vibes, good music, no major hassles, cool folks!

All I can say is acoustic Deep Elem Blues!! Folks this show in Denver was so damn good I don't give a crap about the negative reviews about the tour so far, thank you for your opinion, but I have to disagree with any negativity ... tonight was absolutely amazing ... the energy ... the love ... the music ohhh the music!! Tonight I became a huge Warren fan, he is just nailing it!! China Doll ... seriously just let Warren sing some more !!... Cumberland ... so freaking good!! Billy .. Mickey ... thunderous!! Jeff grooving as good as any keyboarder ... Ok its late got to go! Peace and love and see you in shoreline and the gorge!! "Escaping through the lily fields, I came across an empty space. ( -; meanwhile, here is a taste of what happens if Phil and Friends and Ratdog jam together in one big super band! 12/31/08 NYE show at Bill Graham Civic Center in SF, and yup, we was THERE!! fucking grate shows! a couple of different views of the same stuff: and the final bow which was about 2:30 am... that show lasted from around 6:30pm, Jackie opening, etc etc etc, until the wee hours... not to mention the after parties outside after. Hey now, awesome, great show! Spent the day in the lot meeting up with old and new friends. All was well, good energy. The show rocked! I left with a smile on my face and a warm heart! However, as soon as we left the Pepsi Center we were greeted with hostility from security. We quickly got back to our car and decided to pack it up and move on when a fight broke out between two deadheads. We did not get a chance to say goodbye to friends. Does anyone know how the scene transpired? Did everyone get on the road safely? To all, "may the four winds blow you safely home". Peace

both 12/30/08 and 12/31/08 were two of the best non-Grateful but dead related shows we ever been to. general admission to boot! was a bit rough on the system, though. seriously squeejeed by jet-lag getting to San Francisco and then the all night partying and way too little sleep both daze and nights. napping in the panhandle doesn't quite provide enough rest to my tired bones. only stimulant used was adreniline, green tea, and coffee. borrowed a hog from an old tour buddy who still lives in The Haight... let me just say, racing up and down the streets of San Francisco on a scoot at 5am is rareley a good idea. ) -; shucks, just ain't as young as I used to be. sigh.
