    my last show
Had 8th row seats and we were really happy about that! And thrilled by Iko-iko. We thought Jerry looked really bad and during Brokedown my eyes filled with tears as I sang along with Jerry and told him: I love you more than words can tell. The day the news broke I, along with many others, cried many more tears. We loved him more than words could tell. fare thee well Jerry

    My Last One
I will always remember this evening as not just my last show in person, but I was not so shocked when Garcia shortly thereafter passed away. The rest of the band was top notch, but Jerry was lackluster at best, I vividly remembering telling a friend who had never seen them that "Jerry is off tonight, or wasted". We had a great time though. My other vivid memory is that Dylan seemed reborn to me, I had not seen him in about five years and he was great, it was a sign of things to come from him. "Ramona" was special, he was into it and energetic. A lifelong memory. barksdale

    The Last Show
Sad. I hated Giants Stadium and had never seen the boys there. This was a disappointing show as Jerry was on the decline. I choose to remember the many other brilliant shows from '80, '81 and '90 instead.

At this show, I decided to introduce a dear Brazilian friend who happened to be in NY, and her biggest comment at the end of the show was "Wow - Jerry looks so depressed...".To our surprise, not a few later, he is gone.

Giants Stadium was always a show I made because of proximity to home and we loved to tail gate beforehand. Unbroken Chain has always been my favorite, non-standard Dead tune and I always wanted to hear it live, but over the years never expected the band to dust it off. I remember saying to my show friends how fulfilling it was to see UC live, yet I was hoping to catch it again -- perhaps when Jerry's guitar leads sparkled a bit more.... I'll never forget the fate day when Jerry passed; I got so many phone calls from friends and family that day as I was traveling on business. I sat in my hotel room for hours watching news stories and consoling myself with friends by phone. God -- I needed a show badly on that day.... The Dead shaped my life and I'll never forget the joy and fun in seeing a live show.

As anyone knows who was at this show Jerry was just toast. I remember writing on the back of my ticket stub after the show that the boys needed to take a year off. Tell tale sign obviously.Miss ya Jerry. Giant stadium shows were always fun.

I was a freshman in high school at the time, and it was the week of final exams. It was my sister's 50th show, and my first. I was so naive at the time - I am very 'grateful' to have seen Jerry Garcia in person, even if it was only that one time... ~Lynnspiration~

My one and only show. What an honor to experience. I am honored to have seen Jerry perform live even though he was not doing well at the time. Thank you Jerry and thank you to all my friends for the great memories we shared.

Rolled in on my landlord's converted school bus, stacked with heads. Wasn't Bob Dylan in some crazy gold jacket? A little distracting in my state at the time. Didn't Bruce Hornsby turn up on keys? Magic Steve and I went up to the upper deck for the second set, straight on to the stage, just to let the sound wash over us. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! My best friend offered me Soldier Field tickets for later that summer, couldn't figure out the drive there. My bad........

I got kicked out of this show during the first song for trying to jump down to the floor. It really sucked, out of 50 people - the security guys grabbed me and escorted me to the parking lot. Last show for me...

Jerry was missing from the stage in the second set for a few songs- his guitar did not work for Unbrokenn Chain and Bobby took up the lead. I do not think Jerry came back until the encore .

I fell in the lot the day before (sober) and busted my chin open. It was an ugly start to the day. I ended up in Meadowlands hospital. Try getting your beard shaved while bleeding profusely so they could stitch me - that sucked. The doctors wouldn't give me pain medication because they said they were afraid I was already on drugs. I told them I was high on extreme pain, but they wouldn't risk it. I was pissed. I finally got a ride back to the lot after being stitched up (I hairline fractured both sides of my jaw, but never went back to the doctor) and immediately scored some pain kills. Of course, I stayed on tour and only missed that night. The next night was my sister's birthday, and I don't remember much of the show honestly. I saw 4 shows at Giants Stadium, and I injured myself pretty badly in '94 and '95. I was sober on both occasions.

I remember complaining awfully after the Show... Who the fuck did I think I was. This was one of my last Jerry Shows and here I was complaining about the New Songs, Garcia's playing, etc.... I was sick of the big venues... I guess I was just sick of myself at the time... Looking back.... One of the best nights of my life... I would die to see Jerry smile as he helped Bobby along in a now LOVE TO HEAR version of Corinna. I'd die to hear Garcia gravel through a then hated Stella Blue.... Damn, I've learned a lot since then... I was with my best friends, having the time of my life. Maybe I thought I was cool to be at a place in my life where I had seen so many shows I could finally critique one? Or maybe I was just a stupid kid asshole? Well, I got my tickets to the Spring 2012 shows at the Beacon and my last 2011 show at the On Center in Syracuse sortta put thins in perspective. They opened with Alligator, a song from the very first days,,,,,,,,,and,,,,fittingly they went into a cover of the Rolling Stones Last Time. So, from the first time to the Last Time the profoundness hit me, I DON"T KNOW! Bundle up, hunker down and have a safe winter. Who knows,? We may not wake up come spring time.....But if we do, I'll surly see you there.

I'm looking for Doc and Becks, two generous guys that I stood (danced) next to at this show. You guys were too kind and I hope the years have been as good to you as you were to me that night. What a fun show, and hanging out with two strangers that felt like lifelong friends was PERFECT!!! I remember looking around during Lazy River Road and just seeing sooooo many smiles, I'll never forget that....

Oddly, it was my last and I went solo. Jerry sang Brokedown as if he were singing just to me. It was a real tear jerker. A VERY disappointing UC. Nothing close to the breakout in Phili~ Jammin Corinna, though! Miss you so much, Jerry! Peace................

Jerry looked really bad, and overall not a very good show. Little did I know as I walked away that was the last time. Miss those days more than I can say, and Garcia... My first show Giants stadium 9/2/78 my last Giants stadium 6/19/95. Some of the very best times of my life in between.

Final "Official" Grateful Dead Concert for me. Was in the 8th row field section and looked up on the stage at Jerry. I commented "this is the last time I will see him" and seven weeks later he was gone...

No matter how bad some people say this show was, it was my first and only time, a magical moment that will live in my memory forever. How many people can say they heard the 2 songs they identify as their favorite both at the only show they attended? I'd do anything for a sbd of this show.

I hadnt been to a show in a couple years. I was sitting in a deli in NJ having lunch and I saw a bunch of heads in the parking lot loading up coolers. I walked outside and asked if they were going to shows. They said yes so I asked if they might have an extra ticket to sell. To my surprise not only did they have one but I got my first miracle. I have never forgotten that act of kindness and all these years later this is the ONLY stub I still have. Not the best show i ever saw but Im glad I got to see Jerry one last time!
