Happy Almost Weekend - Anyone Need Tickets?
Hey all,
I hope you guys are all good and enjoying these first few days of Fall.
For what it's worth - I have 2 tickets to Verizon Center in DC for November 6th (Sec 404 Row B) if anyone is interested.
I think of all of you often - hope you are well and happy!
Peace, Anita
For You, this First Weekend of Fall
Greetings to all this first weekend of fall;
Do a merry dance: a waltz or a jig,
join in, make it up, think big;
Sing loud, be happy and free,
for you'll see that is the key;
Doesn't matter about the song,
or whether it's short, medium or long;
That which is in our spirit and heart,
is what sets all of us apart;
The dance, the song, the giving,
is what keeps us all a living;
It's Fall, and the Summer ends,
crisp weather is around the bend;
Love long, hug strong, be glad,
that the Sunshine Daydreamers are rad;
So look to the future with glee,
share with your friends and see;
That in the end we'll find,
that Mickey is right, Be Kind;
Love to you and you and you,
don't worry, be sad or blue;
That's the message, meaning and call,
in geomeister's poem to ya'll.
Blessings and peace...
g
It's Autumn
Thanks geomeister! I love autumn. You've motivated me to break out Ella Fitzgerald's "It's Autumn".
@there goes Rhyming Simon.....ehhhh...geohenrygibsonmeister....
Quite the wordsmith....
A crisp clear day....gotta love fall and the changes the season brings.....
After seeing the Aspens lend a golden blanket to the Rockies, returning home, we marveled in the beginning of the same transformation in the Northeast.
Looking forward to warm cider with cinnamon sticks, Apple crisp and the kids dressed up for Halloween....
Watching the sun rise as I drive to work each day....
Sitting by the fire in the evenings....
Being thankful for each and every day, no matter what they bring....
Coffee is on....
ba dus is idling....
@ Love to you and you and you
Hey now, thanks Geo for your poetic stylings.
I love the changing of the seasons and the crisp fall air.
Autumn equinox and Blood moon eclipse last week...brining celestial influences to the mix.
And I love the Daydreamers!
i miss real fall
been in DFW for 6+ years now. love this time of year here...perfect weather...but i do miss "real fall" that i enjoyed almost everywhere else i've lived. for a few weeks, at least, i miss northeast Ohio, minnesota and maryland weather. hmmmm...but when I'm golfing in January, not so much!
glad to see the bus s till driving. i've been buried at work for a few weeks and feared no one t the wheel anymore.
The Fall and The Wheel
They go 'round and round, and it was not twenty years ago today, but a mere 90 days ago when we parked the bus right over there in the shadow of Soldier Field and let it tick off the heat from its well worn engine...
...as we exited ba dus and merrily gathered from hither and yon to shake hands and hug family, all seemed perfect in the world....at least in our little corner of it. Daydreamers everywhere were meeting perhaps for the first time sharing smiles and miles traveled, lifting a cold one, singing a song and dancing a jig. Color us all Happy Happy Happy.
That was and is the stuff folklore is made of, our special weekend just ninety days ago. Then the music! My oh my, did you enjoy that? A fiftieth anniversary celebration and family reunion. Comes a time when you look back and just smile, smile smile. Yes, that weekend was just that good.
So happy Fall, Daydreamers near and far, let that wheel take you on adventures greater than your imagination and dreams, and thank you for making our internet house a home. Bus is idling, ready for another trip...stop by, hop on, set a spell, share a song and tell a tale.
@Fall put some spring in my step.....
An overcast, windy Saturday....44 degrees, just tested the furnace, all is good....coffee is on....getting ready to bake a cake in honor of our guru and spiritual leader.....the one and only....

2 great Seats for Phil Halloween show
I have 2 Hard Tickets for Seats in the ADA section of the General admission area. This gives you full access to General Admission area with the benefit of a seat. I bought them for myself as I have a back Injury, but like to be close to the action and where the sound is better. Regrettably I can no longer attend the show and have to sell the tickets. Including Shipping ( which would be priority with insurance) The pair would be $345.00. I can show proof of purchase in my name,..Pictures of tickets or whatever else would be desired. Preferred method of payment would be Paypal, I guess.I hope someone can use these. you can text me at (570)335-0626. Thanks for any and all consideration,...Bob
Hello Daydreamers!
Is anybody out there?
Just nod if you can hear me...
Is there anyone home?
Earth To Daydreamers, Earth to Daydreamers, come in Daydreamers
Yes, Likey to Hikey, we are out there, for we are everywhere.
We are nodding and can hear you.
We are home, and we are traveling, and we are daydreaming of sunshine, as is appropriate.
Carry on....
KXB242, we're clear.
Just Checkin'
Been kinda quiet around here lately.
I am dreaming of sunshine as well, it is rather dreary outside.
Ba Dus is getting ready to head to NYC for Halloween with D & C
Happy Halloween!!!
@Likey to Hikey.....???
......sounds like a menu choice from column A on the local Wok 29 takeout.....
Sometimes, just sometimes it takes something cataclysmic like the FTW shows to bring together some 40 odd, and I do mean ODD strangers who for a brief time become one.....Jerry will always be the glue.....
I miss Jerry
@Dead and Company
To those of us getting back on ba dus... well wishes, safe travels and have a great show/s.
Goddammit I miss Jerry.......
@ Hang on tight
Hey there kids...It's almost time for the 1st ever Dead and Co Show...how cool is that? All you fine folks headed there tonight, let the rest of us know how it goes. We will be with you in spirit.
I miss Jerry.
@Mr Mayer & Co
One down....like Trey in SC took a bit to get in the groove, once he did....wow.
Good to see you Matt, Bobby and GOB....
MSG and Phil next....so much music so little time, oh yeah the Mets are in town as well....
Coffee is on...
@ Just a Taste
I got just a taste of the show on the ustream below...they wanted to play commercials more than the stream.
Heard a little of Feel like a stranger with the crowd singing and getting rowdy.
Good times.
Cant wait till my turn!
Have fun in the Big Apple...Ba Dus is flyin down the road!
Phil and Friends Halloween
That show was off the hook! Some scary good voodoo spell on me!
2015 30 Days of Dead
In case you haven't heard: There hasn't been much fanfare or official announcement yet on dead.net, but you can find this year's 30 Days of Dead at http://www.dead.net/30daysofdead.
Bon appetit!
@November....
Thanks Jeff.....
FYI Daves Picks 2016 subscriptions are now available as well.....
Jumped the Gun
Thanks Rich, I forgot that those on the west coast (i.e. dead.net) get a later start on Sunday mornings than the rest of us. All is good!
What are you tripping to?
So much grate music this weekend! And 30 Trips! I'm still streaming 30 trips...stuck on 1981 this week. I did talk to Bertha's grandma at dead.net and she said the 30 Trips USB drives are supposed to ship in a week or two. But mysteriously they removed the estimated ship date from my order??
Upside out or inside down
False alarm, the only game in town
@Light Fantastic
I'm grooving to the 30 Trips 1981 show...
Well now C., C.C. Rider
See now the moon is shining bright
Well now C., C.C. Rider
See now the moon is shining bright
Just might find me that good girl
And everything would be alright
@Can I get a witness?
Morning all. The wheels on the bus, well you know how the song goes.....
After immersing myself in Mayer and Company for the past 10 days, I must say I am pleasantly surprised. There is a new energy in old Bobby. Chimenti shines as always and Otiel brings a non Phil bottom end to the mix. Drumming is spot on. Plenty of room to shake our bones, as the sardine box of Soldier Field is replaced by smaller crowds in manageable arenas.....
Couple of updates, Stella Moon and Cain74 send their regards but seem to be off the bus for now.....for those of us with shows in our future, may they be joyous ones, next stop home in da Buff on 11/11.....
May the spirit of Jerry be with us all....
Remember kids.....you can check out any time you like but you can never leave....
Oh yeah....coffee is on.....Philz of course....
30 Trips USB
After my weekly call to dead.net they told me a week or two. They've been saying a week or two for the past month so I'm pretty sure they have no idea. Hoping some of them have shipped somewhere...
Did anyone get a shipping notice?
@Amen!
Hey now Daydreamers, and good morning to all those still on Ba Dus!
I must say, in the words of David Ganz, "That boy can really play guitar!"
Was fortunate to listen to the show on Saturday broadcast live on Sirius and it was smokin'. The crew had interviewed the whole band earlier in the day and Mr. Mayer was very articulate and humble about playin in the band...
The music NEVER stopped!
Had the tunes crankin, dancin' in the livingroom!
Let's keep this bus a rockin' and a rollin' down the road
@Allen Toussaint
RIP brother, you brought us many fine songs, smiles and memories.....
Say hi to Jerry for me ;-)
Allen Toussaint
I was lucky enough to see him at the Great American a few years back. Just awesome.
@Mother in Law...
marye, saw him at Snug Harbor a bar on Frenchmen Street NOLA 2013.....life changing.....he played to his hometown crowd, just happened to be walking by....I miss Allen Toussaint.....
and I miss Jerry.....
Just My .02
I was really looking forward to Verizon Center, but also had just a little splather of skepticism going on...
NOT ANYMORE.
It was really incredible you guys! SOOOOO GOOD! If you're still on the fence - jump off and shake your bones at one of these shows.
So bummed I can't make it to more - hoping there will be 2016 dates announced and that they'll come to Florida!!
Happy Trails to all traveling! You won't be disappointed!
- Anita
@Happy Veterans Day....
Thanks to all who serve and have served.....
Now bring on Mr. Mayer and Company......
Truckin' up to BUFFALO........
Hey Anita.....nice taste in avatar;-)
hmmmmm 2016 touring?
i hope it's true. from all accounts, mayer is doing the music proud.
My oh my oh my oh my!
Another season of touring came to a close for me last night as the boys rocked da buff. Solid first set with an Althea just for Geeky, US Blues for the Veterans and an El Paso, just so Bobby could screw up the words, just exactly perfect. What a mess he made of that....in a good way....
The second set took off with a scorching viola Lee blues, courtesy of Mr. Mayer....btw...up close he looks nothing like Klangstone. Lainie Bear got her elusive wang dang doodle then a new speedway into dark star to truckin to dark star.....drums back to dark star a china doll, then our national anthem, sugar mags...
Casey jones took us home safely.....
One observed OD with paramedic assistance, some lightweight went to ground on the first verse of promised land...waste of a good pit ticket...
This Dead and Company tour exceeded all my expectations and the vibe was more early 80s in the arenas than the FTW spectacle....that's a good thing....if you go be ready to have your face melted....
