    Great show!
Cumberland County Civic Center was allways a great place to see a show. Comming out with a smoking hot Alabama Getaway, we had floor seats ...8th row or so .. I remember Jerry doing these big Pete Townsend arm swings .. I know your saying ....Jerry doing big Pete Townsend arm swings !?!? That guy was tripping. But it really did happen : ). Does anyone remember the preacher guy that was allways outside the Civic Center preaching hell and damnation to all us sinners ??? LOL that was 24 years ago ... He's probablly still there! All in all a great show... Brother Easau which Bobby never sang enough times and Crazy Fingers ... You just can't beat that....

"She can take the dark out of the nighttime"
1985 was a very strong year for the band, although Jerry's voice was strained at times, it was the 30th Aniversary and we all were celebrating. This show was one of the best of the spring tour and really show cased their greatness and what they liked to do. The first set opens with a strong Alabama but then to go into Jack Straw, a total surprise and it would just get better. To hear my one and only She Belong's To Me was a treat and the song only got better the more they played it.The LSD ending was a definite highlight too. The word was out that they sound checked Crazy Fingers and we got it big time, it was one of the few times we sucessfully willed a song to be played.

This was my first show! Looking back at the set list and remembering (some what!) the show 22 years later is like WOW! What a way to start some 100 + shows! To anyone who went to show from Dean College with or without me, drop me a line @ centurytk@yahoo.com. Many great dead show memories began on this night.

This was my first show, and what a show it was! Looking back at the set list and remembering (some what!) this show is like WOW! What a way to start 100+ shows and a 22 year span. If anyone from Dean College who went to show with (or without) me drop me a line. She Belongs To Me was outstanding and the last time played, it was as if they knew it was the last time they were going to play it.

Sorry to correct you Tom K but this was not the last time they played She Belongs to Me. That would be later in the year . It got a few more plays after this night. This was however the first one since 66' which made it insane. Figures this run was the only one of Spring 85' i missed.

I remember being in the hall after the first set and we were talking to another guy on tour who I hadn't met before. I was familiar with the Dylan song they played, but got the title wrong. I told him 'Love Minus Zero/No Limit'.Same album, different track. I doubt he'll ever read this. Anyway, this first set was as good as it looks on paper.

Nice show, good long first set, and the breakout of another Dylan tune, I don't think anyone in the house recalled it was last playing in 1966, by the way.
