Does anyone have any gd tapes they would like to get rid of to a good home? I love to have any your duplicates. I used to collect cds/tapes a little when I first got into the Dead but as things have become digital, I got rid of what I had! Anyway, recently got myself a new tape deck and thought it would be fun to collect/trade again! I am happy to pay for shipping etc. Thx! phishinjo6@yahoo.com

I am looking for 4 shows from the Spring tour on the CD'S they sold at the shows. The ones that they sold at the tee shirt stands. They came in a red envelope and had cool art work on the discs. I need these 4 shows

5/9 Los Angeles Ca.
5/10 Mountain View Ca.
5/16 Quincy Washington
Please send me a private message or e mail me at Rallye72@aol.com

They were produced and sold by a company having nothing to do with Dead.net, so I can't speak for what they might tell you, but email David at service@ratdoglive.com and make your requests. Thanks!
Guys...I am new here so please bare with me.
I am looking for the 9/2/80 show...Springfiled Mass....LMK if you can help
I accidentally deleted this one - it's from 1970, one of those epic 5-disk ones with staggered NRPS/Dead sets. At the beginning of the NRPS' song "Henry" they do the usual intro about how it's dedicated to weed smugglers. That's standard, but on the particular show I'm looking for, Garcia pipes up, "not if you just get stoned" and the New Riders guy affirms, saying that you've got to be one of the guys in the operation. Anyone know the date and venue for this?
Anyone with ideas about what to do with my old cassette tapes? I have about 200 shows, plus other assorted Dylan, Beatles, Young, etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I was listening to this one the other day and figured I could post a link for anyone to acquire. It's not a vine, it's @ megaupload. I hope it's cool, Marye, I've not seen anyone use this method of sharing on this site. To extract the archived files, you will need WINRAR, which is easy to get. Jerry just sounds great in this show, although it IS '94. Bobby plays acoustic on Uncle>Big River. Pretty sweet soundboard. Just follow the link...

Hey, Chn1rider-
It was a HOT day in Foxboro and I think every cop in Massachusetts was at the stadium! I remember Bobby screaming his ass off during 'Memphis Blues' and also during 'Estimated'. Follow the link below to a soundboard of this show. Audio quality could be better, but it's the best sounding copy I have found. Enjoy...

www.archive.org has good audience recordings that are downloadable for Pittsburg 7/8; Raleigh 7/10, and Foxboro 7/14. Of course, you'll have to learn how to convert the shn or flac compression files first...

Go to the vinyard on this site.
I came here a year ago with about 6 or 7 complete Dead shows on cassette tape that I got back in the early 90s. I basically had nothing.
After coming to the vinyard a little over a year ago, I now have 150+ dead shows on digital CDRs (99% soundboard recordings). Nobody really trades "tapes" any more. Everything is in digital format now.
One word of advice for the vinyard--patience. You must be patient. You basically "get in line" to receive stuff by mail, and depending on where you are on the sign-up sheet, you may wait months to get a particular show(s). New shows are posted frequently so you may get to be first in line to get it. After you make a copy, mail it to next in line. I have shows showing up in my mailbox weekly. Just this week, I got 9 shows and more is on the way. Most "newbies" who try it are not patient and drop out. If you can hang in there for several months, it will pay huge dividends.
Right now, there are a few vines that have reached the last person on the list and are waiting for someone else to sign up and get it (no wait time).
:-) I am lovin' it--happy times

Hello everybody from Belarus!Just return from Egypt. I was at Gizah Sound and Light Theater. Magical place!
I looking for GD box sets, Download and Road Trips series, and some live albums in CD-R or FLAC. And, of course, GD bootleg tapes. Please, don't sent me links for downloading. If anyone can send me CD-R or DVD-R with stuff it would be very nice.
For the box sets, downloads, and Road Trips, go to the Store and order there...
For trading shows that aren't commercially released, there's a lot of great music available here from kind souls around the world and I'm sure you'll be hearing from them. You might also want to post in the Deadheads of Europe topic, if you haven't already...

I lost these files by accident while moving files from a hard drive. I am pretty sure I got them all from Lossless Legs a long time ago. I would download them again but all my bandwidth is being used up by other projects at the moment. If any of you have these shows or can get these shows I would love to trade for them. PM me and let me know.
I'm looking for an invite to what.cd! I'm a tape trader from the old days who has upgraded to cd, although I guess those are on the way out, too. A few months ago I GAVE AWAY to someone I DID NOT KNOW AND NEVER EVEN MET my ENTIRE COLLECTION of about 700 hours (that's how we used to measure our collections) of GD tapes. That has to be worth something, Karma. If anyone out that can spin that wheel back my way and send an invite, I'd be awfully darn appreciative. One love! shotgunstallion@hotmail.com

Hi All. My first ever post! I live in the UK and have been a Dead fan for nearly 20 years. I guess that makes me a new starter compared to some folks on here. It took me a while but I saw the light in the end!!! I love all sorts of bands, especially jamming guitar bands, which brings me on to Guvt` Mule. I`m desperate to hear the Dead with Warren Hayes as a member!! Where can I get some of the latest gigs??The only "boot" live stuff I have to trade is a Ratdog gig from Newcastle upon Tyne, England a few years back. Rob Wasserman on bass. I do have quite a few shows by other bands.
I will be grateful for any help....... Cheers
I`ve realised I missed my address..........I am totally new to this so just bear with me. Cheers. peterwalkerblyth@yahoo.co.uk

I heard this show the othere day on XM and Archive only has an audience of it....The show was one of the last recorded on reel to reel, as this practic ended in 1981 in favor of cassette masters....my question is does anyone have a low gen SDBD of this show I could burn? It is such a crisp sounding show, but (no offense to any tapers) the Aud tapes don't do it justice in my humble opinion.
thanks!

I am almost POSITIVE the Dead played a second encore after Casey Jones on 10/28/77. It was my first Casey, AMAZING, and I recall the Dead left the stage, the roadies started breaking it down, but the fans were going wild! We would not leave. The Dead finally came back out and played another. That is how I remember it to this day. But I can't find any evidence to back it up, as all tapes/recordings from that show say Casey was only encore. Anyone share my memory??? Was it a dream, or another show, or ??? Anyone with a tape to back me up?Thanks.
I too am one of the Old School heads who was reluctant to move into the digital realm. And I'm a techie! What forced the issue was that I also found fewer people interested in trading tapes. So I did the homework and got advice from others and haven't look back since. I still have about 200 of the 850 or so tapes I had, giving the others away to those in need. But you don't need to convert what you have. Most of it is available out there and will sound better. The easiest way to download is using a torrent app like UTorrent or others, where you add a download by clicking on the torrent link. The bt.etree.org site has tons of great quality shows and enough seeds to allow for reasonably fast downloads. Get the free application "Traders Little Helper", which will easily convert the various compressed file formats (shn, flac, etc.) to WAV (where you can burn to CD if your burner software can't decode the compressed formats), or there are plenty of others that will get you to MP3Pro or similar formats suitable for your iPod. The archive.org site primarily offers audience recordings available for download, but you can also stream the soundboard stuff and capture it with an audio program like CoolEdit Pro, etc. The learning curve isn't bad and once you do, you'll discover the bliss you found when first collecting those crispy XLII-S copies. And nearly everything can be done for free, except maybe the cost of the CD's - which are a hell of a lot cheaper than tapes :) I know have replaced most of all my favorite shows and have added tons more. My 80 GB iPod is stuffed with a couple hundred shows as well. Technology is our friend, just as it was the band's! Enjoy your eargasms!!
Like IRSampson, I also had a couple hundred Maxell and TDK gems in my collection. I went digital a couple years ago and would put any of the digital stuff I have against any of my old tapes quality-wise. There is not one drawback that I can think of, it's just that first step that is the hardest. Storage is a GREAT benefit. 1 hard drive can store an entire collection, while you can rotate stuff on your iPod. Luckily, there are folks on these boards and others who are happy to guide you through the process. The vines here helped point me in the right direction. I finally completed my leap into the digital age by dragging my cassette collection to the Chicago stop on the band's '09 Spring Tour and just handed them out. I've recently been posting shows here that I have uploaded to Rapidshare. These are clean downloads, free to those who wish them. Just copy the link to your browser, and your in business. I'm also willing to share my list with anyone who's looking - just PM me.
Could I please have some some help finding a copy of the show from The Other Ones at the MCI Center in Washington DC on 11/15/2002. I know it's probably not out there but I was at at that show with someone that meens alot to me that is not around anymore and it would be wounderfull if I could get a copy of this show.
Thank You very much for any help that can be given.
Hey, all.
I don't have tapes to trade... but there is a show I would love to see one more time in this life
and it is the 3rd show at Alpine Valley, July, 1989.
Best concert I ever saw and my first Dead Show.
I have the recording but to actually see it again.... how could I explain?
I was 19.
I know there is a full vid of this show in existence.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here's a link to a site where there are many shows posted for free download. Sound quality is pretty awesome and he adds stuff all the time. His list includes most of the 'Hunter's Trix' series of matrix shows currently making the rounds via bit torrent at etree. It would be a good place to check out if you are starting a collection, or even enhancing one.
