Hey there Y'all -
My Daughter was sorting through my records lately and found two unusual records (seem to be from a radio broadcast in 1981 on the NBC young adults network). If these are of value to the archive I would be glad to send them to the right person.
Thanks

What the hell? I haven't even posted ten times and I'm already banned from posting on the site? I know I didn't enrage anyone that quickly. Somebody please let me know what's going on.
It is wednesday 7:51 pdt and there is none posted--what is the problem ? Some weeks the GDH is posted late Tuesday evening and some weeks not until Friday. Can I help you reorganize whatever is going wrong ?

I've searched and searched I-Tunes and other downloadable sites looking for a studio recording of The Wheel. Has anybody any idea where I can find one and download? There are plenty of live versions but I can't imagine out of 2500 Dead songs to choose from on I-Tunes there is not one studio recording of one of their top 5 songs ever. They are all live and long. I just want the song. I thought it would be easy. No? What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for any help.
try the garcia album titled "garcia" it's the one with the arm sticking up out of a gear or cog. there is a fine studio version on there.
It is 8:09 pm monday august 17 and not only is there no Tapers Section posting but no notice or explanation why. I think it would be like saying excuse me when you step on someone's foot to acknowledge that you haven't done something you said you would do ( Next week we have music from 1968 and 1990, so don’t miss it. Some great stuff coming up. We welcome and encourage your questions or comments to the Tapers’ Section, at the address below.

and perhaps even briefly say why (e.g., is it monday dude ? that shit was so good I was happily paralyzed and thought it was still saturday ).

contrary to the assertion above, the Taper's Section for this week has been up since yesterday at http://www.dead.net/features/august-17-august-23-2009.
apparently the homepage didn't get updated, and I'll see about getting that done, but as far as I can tell the TS went up right on schedule and is available at the above link.
Hey now, here's a tough one for anyone who might be able to help... I know it is going to be almost impossible but you never know....I have a copy of the above show and at the end of disk 2 there is a terrapin station that is not from this show. After a great reading of the tune, Bobby says "ok, we're outta here" must be an encore and from reading set lists, they did terrapin for encores in 77, can hear Donna on cut so must be from 70's, anybody got any ideas as to what show this version of terrapin came from?

Hi there! I sent off for the Sept. 18, 19, & 20 Furthur shows at the Fox Theater in Oakland through GDTS-TOO. Is it normal for the tickets to arrive in hand to the purchasers less than two weeks before the dates of the shows? The show dates are 10 days from today; pretty sure when we did mail order for the Grateful Dead in the '80's -'90's the tix came through a bit quicker? Any information gratefully appreciated!
Hey Marye, Were is the Furthur Forum? I remember seeing one but cant seem to find any discussions about the September shows. Thanks
Love the new look please ask the store to put the set lists with the Cds please. Thanks

Are downloads still available from the Dead 09 Spring Tour? I purchased some and would like to purchase more, but have been unable to locate them through the webcite recently. If they are still available, how do I access them?
Is anyone still having trouble placing orders? Ever since the store was farmed out to India i cant place an order! Talked to customer service last week (also in India) and spent an hour re-creating the order with a rep and he still couldnt put it through!!! HELP
the latest gd hour (509) was posted last week--will there be one this week ?

when you say 'seems to be up.' you must be looking at something i can't open. I just logged out and back in to be sure and on both
http://www.dead.net/front_page
and
http://www.dead.net/features
gdh #509 is posted and the links still lead to the same page as last week and the media player still plays #509. 10:20 pm pdt
thanks for caring--the site must have virtual indigestion.

This morning #509 was still the newest, but this afternoon #549 arrived. I had checked using several browsers--Opera, Chrome and IE often since last wednesday--besides my usual Firefox, so I don't see how a cached page would have appeared on all of them instead of the current one. No matter--thank you David and Dead.net.

When i first sign on, an option is on the screen offering me the opportunity to Block OR UnBlock messages... one option even tells me that i will be preventing me from sending msgs to myself... I do not understand! Also, it says the choice is permanent, or something to that effect... Can u pls explain these two conundrums? TY!!! Luv Ya!!! :-)
if you want to be able to exchange messages with other folks here, you don't want to block messages.
If a particular person annoys you, you can block them individually without having to lose the entire function.
Hi, I don't know where to ask about this, so I'm asking here. Is there someplace I can go to update my address for snail mail? Like, if you guys were gonna start mailing the almanac out again, I wanna be sure that I get it. Thanks for any help in advance.
however, I am not sure whether that in itself will get you the Almanac, I'm looking into it.
How can I post content? It's telling me I can't?I want to alert people of my children's book-
Monkey and the Engineer, a book for ALL AGES.
You've GOT to see this stunningly illustrated book. It's a classic.

Kinda new here so apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask this...Went to the 10/24 Dog show at the beacon, great energy, I looked on archive.org and see all the shows except for that one. Are they planning a special release for this specific show? Or does anyone know where I can listen to it?
you seem to have posted about it. Twice.
The more appropriate venue for it would be the Your Own Storefront topic, which is for hawking one's wares.
What you can't do is start a new topic.
I was wondering if the Stock used for the "Limited" (?) Dead Tri-City Posters was a Traditional Mohawk Enterprise or a Mohawk Casino Enterprise?

I just bought this box and noticed that the booklet and the outside of the cd holders have spots all over them looks like film or dirt but isnt. Does anyone else who has this set have this as well? is this the way they were printed?? thanks
I sent in a mail order for tix for the 12/30 show almost 2 months ago and haven't heard anything yet. I can't find any contact information on the web site to find out what happened to my order. What should I do? Thank you for any help!
I'd suggest going to to their Web site and contacting them. They're usually pretty good.
Can anyone tell me why spammers, and other ne'er do wells, are allowed to ply their trade on this site. Why isn't more being done to protect the users of this site? We deserve better than we are being offered. Many of us have been long time "customers" of all things Grateful Dead, and what has become of the band as a corporate entity, is completely disgusting. Read the "Got issues with your store order" forum if you aren't aware of how it goes down these days. Thanks for yer time.
but i have so much family here i at least hit the chat, even if i don't use the store, but you are right.....things kinda stink...i see so many "ads" in the "who's online" list that i wonder if i shouldn't apply for a job deleteing them....from the number i see at any given moment, i could be workin' full time......how about it GDP?.....hire me! don't outsource it!!
i don't like the spammers either and have asked MaryE to not make the links live as a way to stop this, but there doesn't seem to be a will or a way. if people are making their living posting the links they should question what is an appropriate place to do so as opposed to graffiti.
and definitely somebody should let those folks know they are not welcome to do their thing here. though it may be the kind of situation where paying any attention at all makes it worse...
agree with johnman. hire him as chief post-buster.
