Thanks for playing this. These mid-to-end-of 1968 Dark Stars are unique. They seem very gentle to me, the 12 October one in particular. This one is also quite "floaty". The New Potato is definitely not floaty though - it's intricate and powerful. Phil's "quoting" is a great addition. It's a pity that the recordings from this period are so sporadic but it's amazing that so much was recorded in such good quality. The hiss is all part of the fun. David, do you have the Rosemary as well? I know it's a fairly, well, low-key performance that is historically interesting more than anything else but I wonder if it's not more impressive on a better source.
