Four respectable SBD shows to keep filling in holes in the vinedex. The 78 show is a request from DStache... Its another crazy 78 show with a lot of hooting and hollering and misqueues. The show from Nassau Coliseum is hot as was par for that venue and the hartford show has a sweet, sweet friend of the devil.... and earthquake space. Enjoy... If there are requests for audio CD versions of this hopefully first one on the vine signup can accomodate. but I like 1 disc vs. 12 so would be great for folks to figure this out. It's time for me to give back a little. I thought what better way to gear up for the big 2009 spring tour than to re-live The Dead's 2004 Wave that Flag Tour 5 night run at Red Rocks 6/15,16,18-20/2004. These 5 shows will be FLAC on 2 DVD's. It rained it poured it shined we danced we laughed we cried and we hugged. This was a great run and a fabulous time at the one and only Red Rocks. I agree with you about 81. I went to a few of the shows you are vining and especially recall the Barton Hall show as one of my favorites. Damn, I miss those days. Thanks. I'm still working on the summer 81 vine, which should be ready soon, but in the meantime I can start an August 1980 vine. "I've stayed in every blue-light cheap hotel. Can't win for tryin. Dust off those rusty strings just one more time. Gonna make em shine."

I prefer the upfront of SBD location with the ABB becuase it captures their sound better than the SBD's. These are some decent sounding shows without the compression that the SBD's frequent becuase of the loud guitar SPL's. The 94 warfield's sequence track order is a little bit hacked , but the show is complete. I also prefer the 90's line up with Warren Haynes, Allan Woody and founding original member Dickey Betts. It's not the ABB without Betts. Enjoy!!! http://www.myspace.com/donnieloeffler sign ups: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Hi Deadhead taper folks, could somebody PLEASE seed a Cornell 77 matrix show and any other 77 matrix sources I can play them on archive.org but can't download them :( it's possible I can capture them digitally through a digital USB>spdif>DAT>Roxio>CDR , but that's alot of work , plus the compression on playback via the net probably isn't worth it in the long run.... somebody's gotta have it... You guys can do what you want, of course, but unless you have been asleep for the past 2 months you know that with the help of many I have been putting together the entire year of 1977. Part 2 includes Matrices for 5/4 and 5/8. And the next part, soon to be unleashed, I believe will include matrices for 6/7 and 6/9. It would make sense to start an Ursa Matrices vine if that vine is also going to include WAV files. But if it is lossless only, I don't really see the point.

Howdy GD heads, whatever you guys can put togehter...I'm not sure on what source is the best for matrix...maybe a good look at archive.org would be suffice...since a matrix can be a little tricky for somebody remastering ie. time/delay alignment...I'm not sure who is doing the best job... but anyway, this was something I thought never to be possible in the late 80's, but now with the software and digital remastering possible, it would be really cool to see more of these out there... I "heard" that silberman was actually running a 4 track digital reel at some of the shows and pointed a set of mics on the back speakers to capture quad mixing live at the shows...I've never seen those appear in circulation...I have seen some 5.1 mixes out there , but those are not like silberman was going to capture most likely - had anybody heard of what I'm talking about...? thanks alot guys and let me know what you guys are going to offer so I can JUMP in many thanks erickat and I will be seeding some more nice non-GD stuff from my collection that isn't in general circulation...I'm now going back to remaster over 500 hrs of DAT cheers! mega vines intimidate some folks. Ursa asked - and i fulfilled - there is room for both the home depot approach as well as the boutique shop. I would have put out just the barton hall show in audio, but I figured if he's looking for matrix shows, I'll lump a whole bunch in. this one's not about size - it's about responsiveness. I like everything lossless - but will push out some audio stuff for folks that need it. I've also put out vines in response to requests for specific shows - there's no one size that fits all & we're making this up as we go along anyway. If someone has requests for stuff they'd like to see come around, let me know. So... Marye, got that Ursa vine for me?

Like the ones listed above?? Like #1 says "Check the Vinedex" .. we shouldn't vine stuff that has already been vined. I personally could care less but was just wondering. Big vines shouldn't be intimidating - it's not like you HAVE to copy everything included in the vine. Plus the mega vines lately have been lossless - which means a lot of music on 4 DVD's tops. What intimidates me is opening up a package filled with 15 CD's. :-) Burning wav files takes forever. But to each their own and that's what makes this place so fun! The rules are meant as a framework to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible - and encuorage communication - but as is stated in the "how this works" section (which I wrote in conjunction with many others here), this is the most free and unencumbered by rules vining community in existance. It's one thing to specify healthy protocol for the process of exchanging information - but when you start to tell me how and what I can vine (outside of legal issues) then that goes too far.I typically push out small wav vines for folks who don't do lossless - which i'm certain many have enjoyed (but which some have criticized) - When a vine has has any size to it at all, I put out in a lossless format on dvd's - and others choose to convert or not convert, down the line - I won't tell them what to do - other than to please forward the originals, not copies. If you like, we can take this to the meta topic - but this is not about individuals here (unless you want to celebrate Marye) - it's about the music.

Every single vine you have provided here for us eric. They have been awesome. But you are taking this the wrong way my friend I wasn't "telling you what you can and what you cannot vine". And I most certainly was not criticizing anything or anyone I was just stating my opinion and preference and I totally apologize if I offended you but trust me that was not my intention. "If I had the strength to know - which things count and which are show - I'd hold my fate within my hands instead of all these chains and bands" life is too short for limits - and there's room for all while we're waiting

My plans for the Playboy vine have been delayed until September. We are into a very busy time. It is pre-back to school fun time for the family. A weekend at Hershey PA. Another long weekend at Mashout. Google it. it is a blast. The new computer will not be up and running until after Mashout. Peace. DMTT

WOW. Can't wait for this one! Right after Jerry Week, too. Kind of makes me chuckle when I see this vine and think about the "Road Trip Complete Shows Only Whiners." (that's 4.18.78 and 3.13.81 - if you add up all the numbers, you get 197. I couldn't think of a catchy name for this vine, so i turned to math. maybe Marye will come up with a better one. This is in response to a request from Pomo1, which I'm happy to oblige. So far this is what it is - but I may be adding an audience version of 3/13/81, since the sbd is set 2 only. I'll likely stick them on a DVD & you all can do what you like with it, down the road - one is shn, the other flac. Grateful Dead 4-18-78 Pittsburgh Civic Arena, Pittsburgh Disc 1 (70:34) set 1: 1. This vine came about through a series of individual trades in the mail. I have been collecting these for a while. I wanted to make sure there were no more out there before I vined it. Im not sure why these tracks got left off of the original Perro Tapes that circulates. In an interveiw Steven Barncard mentions more tapes that have never been mixed. These are very early versions of some well known songs. Most of them are in mono. Most of them do not have all the lyrics, there is a lot of humming and dodah-ing. Crosby and Garcia's jamming is extraordinary! Perro Tapes Companion 01. Cowboy Jam 02. Cowboy Movie 03. Dancer 04. Everybody's Been Burned 05. Music is Love 06. Song With No Words (tree with no leaves) 07. Tamalpais High (At About 3) 08. Laughing 09. Wall Song (with piano) 10. What are Their Names? 11. Wooden Ships Jam There will also be a bonus disc. A compilation of live CSNY recordings: Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young "Detroit Experience" 1. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes (3:41) 2. Blackbird (4:29) 3. On the Way Home (3:57) 4. Teach Your Children (4:25) 5. Triad (7:36) 6. Guinnevere (6:48) 7. Our House (4:43) 8. Country Girl (8:36) 9. Helpless (3:30) 10. Black Queen (8:26) 11. Pre-road Down (4:13) 12. I Must Learn to Live (5:36) 13. Long Time Gone (5:51) 14. Woodstock (4:25) This will be 4 audio cds, with flac files on a dvd.

You are a kind and generous soul. In case anyone is wondering why I requested these two shows, Pittsburgh 4-18-78 was my first show and I met Jerry very briefly before the Utica show. Oh, and the music is pretty good, too. I especially recall the first set at Utica as being outstanding. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latest installment for 1981. Three more shows from May (yeah it would have been nice if I would have included these with the May 1981 vine but hey here they are now) and 4 from later in the summer. Most are sbd's with a couple very nice matrix shows sprinkled in. 2 DVD's of flac/shn files. Stay tuned for a Fall 1981 Vine coming soon! In my mind, it showcases the "essential" Pigpen in all his glory. If you want raw blues and epic raps, I think that this compilation covers mostly all of the ground needed to showcase the different sides of Ron McKernan. This is my first upload, so I hope everything is correct. Eric espod@conncoll.edu I`ll have this converted and on two cdr`s . A must have for any Pig fan !! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I am . Thank you Eric for seeding this ! Evrything is more then correct it is perffect !!

This vine will be 4 DVDs, 3 of which I acquired from another source and the 4th sent to me by our good friend and intrepid viner Cosmicbadger. I tried not to repeat any of the shows vined in the 68 Eurovine, but there is probably a repeat or two on the CB disc as newer and cleaner sources have entered circulation. I am a little short on time so I am not going to list sources, but instead ask that the 1st person to sign up take 10 minutes and do this (thank you!). Dates included are: 1/17, 1/23, 1/27, 2/2, 2/3, 3/16 (outtakes only), 5/18, 5/xx, 6/14, 6/19, 8/21, 8/22, 8/28, 9/2, 9/20, 10/10, 10/13, 10/30, 12/7, 12/16, 12/20, and 12/21. If you sign up for this and the Eurovine, you should have just about everything from this formative year. First person to sign up after Marye posts a thread for this vine, please PM me your address.

Here concludes a fine vine, fantastic year, and perhaps the greatest of all tours. CB generously donated newer sources for 12/18 and 12/19 (only the outtakes have been included, not any of the DP's tracks). 3 DVDs. I am short on time and ask that the first person to sign up take 10 minutes and post the sources. Dates on this part are: 11/21, 11/23, 11/25, 12/1, 12/4 (partial), 12/6, 12/8, 12/12, 12/18, 12/19 (outtakes only). First person to sign up after Marye posts a threat for this vine, please PM me your address.

I propose the entire Garcia '74 shows all in lossless format on DVD only. This will be in 5 installments. Many of these will be audience recordings taped by our great preservationist brothers including the recently deceased Jerry Moore (RIP), and will include a large number of SBD recordings. Much of this material are shows with the late Merl Saunders. In my humble opinion, '74 was one of Jerry's best years, if not his best year for solo non-GD work. As far as I know, these represent the best of what is out there, but what the hell do I know? First one to signup after Marye posts the new vine please PM me.
