For whatever it's worth, found these "notes" as written at the time, and reprinted as were : "Some people had already arrived there the night before. We hung out and decided to find a park and finally slept on the lawns of the Capital. August 12th Salt Lake City : the day passed and the good ‘ol Grateful Dead energy rolled in. Frisbee, music, … I met this kid named Jeff Kerr, a cook from Chicago. Really pleasant and kind with a few things, hobbies, which occupied his mind and body. A ladies man… The concert was mediocre. A “Morning Dew” however. Surely enough, I was on tour with the Dead."

    3rd song 1st set
I was at this show, and as Bob sang the lyrics " friend of the devil is a friend of mine" he was hit with a jolt of electricity that set him a few steps back...Many yrs later, I got the entire show on CD and there is just silence...but trust me it was the Mormons

You could tell the Mormans were there they wore black pants and white shirts. The women wore black bottoms and white tops. I was there with two women, we were traveling by and were happy to get tickets. We were headed to Portland Ore. for a international whole grain bakers cofference. Micky Hart had a wall of drums which was amazing. Some of the words to some of the songs were changed. Like in Casey Jones, high on that white stuff. That was the second best concert that I saw. The best one ever was in 1975 I think of the year, at Camp Randel. see ya
