    ........I know I was there..........
Had some special, " Vietnamese Orange Blossum Weed "* that I whipped out for this concert for me, the misses, her sister and husband. We got so smashed that it was hard to get out of the car. We finally found our seats, and I remember the rain starting.I remember, there's be a lighting flash and the dead would play just as the thunder would start. The playing would die down, another flash, and the Dead would play along with the thunder......I was waiting for "The Orange Blossum Special" but they didn't play it... *Yeah, it was really called that

    Family, fun and Friends
I just moved to Florida a few months before this show, My mom moved with a few of my brothers and sisters to Cinti. My older brother still lived in NJ.My uncle in Cinti brought a handful of tickets for the family members. it was my youngest sister 1st show, her 2nd (and last) was the year after, at the same place.Loser- let it grow blew me away. Jerry was in a red T- shirt. They had that cool back drop with the skeleton and guitar There was really tight bond between the croud and the band......and you can feel it. Very relaxed.......Very tight show!! Cyptical was unfuckinbeleivable!!!! A crisp, clear Jerry during Comes a time....... US Bluse was slow and they just were not into it? Should have picked a different encore. One of my top 5 shows of all time. I still break out the tape and listen to it now and then. Put the headphones on.....fire one up.........close my eyes and go back in time 22 years!! If ANYONE has a good sounding CD of this show....PLEASE. PLEASE contact me............And if you don't have this show....GET IT!!! After the show we kept making a wrong turn and went over that bridge about 50 times. Made it back to my mom's about 4 in the morning. She lived 10 minutes away!!........LOL

The Ohio River behind the stage was cool with the old paddle wheel showboats. Hot day. That changed at halftime. Clouds rolled in, dark, dark clouds. Lightning, then more lightning. Begin second set, begin rain, very hard rain. Rain finished by about Smokestack and the drying out began at about dark. This show told me that it's usually a good show when your someplace you've never been before. First Cryptical. I really liked this place.

Remember the lightning well and thunder well. This was my first show and one of the most mind blowing with the weather and all. Great time.

I was attending school ak NKU.My RA, Chris; asked if I wanted to got to the Grateful Dead show that evening. I had to ask who that was! I had never experienced anything so special. My eyes opened to this beauty and joy. The people, the weather, and the experience was spectacular. The music never stopped. I have met so many wonderful people. The next ten tears were truly magnificent.

12th show of the life tour.I went to the 2nd alpine show ond then drove through Indy, stopped at the houseand picked up john , kathy and stagger lee. .I love they addapt to weather! Huge barge traveling downstream on the ohio river during wharf rat,but for me the whole set was perfect. Compared to what I had seen @ alpine2 nights earlier, was this even trhe same band? Monday in cincy wtops in 85. The Smoestack the best i ever or woodever hear. Phenominal Drumz > Space. comes a Time also the best. Brent and jerry were great. THis is one of my top shows,if you had been there, you.d know itp.s- to the guy near the sound board ,with the glasses and other things, John and I just wanted to thank you so much for the good time. We"ll always remember you.

This was my second show. I took the (now ex) wife. The only way she would go is if I took her to see Barry Manilow.(Did I mention she's my ex?) I bought tickets for both shows at the same time. I can still hear the sudden silence followed by gales of laughter when, in a loud, clear voice, I told the clerk at Ticketmaster (or was it Ticketron?) "I would like two tickets to the Dead and two tickets for Barry Manilow". Didn't Bobby raffle off the rhythm section at one point in the show? Or was that the next year? High point: Smokestack. Second highest point: the look on my ex's face when a twirler accidently bumped into her and caused her to spill her pop. It was her last show, BTW..

I think I recall a paddleboat chuggin' by during Iko, or was that the doses I took ?I was never terribly fond of this venue but there was always good energy there and some memorable shows.

Sweet place to see a gig....the venue was connected to a little amusement park.Shrooms & friends who followed us from Alpine..whole show was tight & sounded great. Smokestack & Cryptical had me dancin' for days after the gig!

This was my first summer tour "shed" show, and my 13th overall. It was a revelation in many ways. River behind the stage, crazy unexpected "That's It For the Other One", "Smokestack", and general out-of-control goofiness. I remember thinking that I single-handedly brought the band back up for an encore by whistling so loudly. It's probably true! Check the tapes to see...

Another great summer tour. New venue's great breakouts and alot of fun with all the tour heads . This was the heyday no pun intended being in the midwest farm lands threw out the summers was a ton of fun. I do not have any regrets having enjoyed my youth with these guys on tour summer after summer year after year. Thank you for a real good time.

I was very excited for it. I knew about half of the tunes. It holds up really well on tape, even though I think 85 and 86 are easily the worst years of that decade. The summer before my junior year in high school, went with a friend. I remember cajoling the maybe 20 year old head next to us into buying us beers (drinking age was 18 for beer back then); he was morally opposed to alcohol but did it to be a nice guy; didn't have any problem offering a bowl laced with opium to us, but beer concerned him. Anyway, I remember being stoked for Tennesse Jed and Smokestack Lightning--I had a Howlin' Wolf record on Chess that I used to play over and over, so I dug the cover. Afterword we skinny dipped in the Ohio River with a bunch of other freaks. Great time.
